    Not relying on one type of lure or technique, watching other anglers and learning from them plus adapting to what your fishing grounds are is a sure recipe for success, thank you for always sharing your knowledge.

    Power fishing with paddle tails and throwing ned rigs are my two confidence strategies. Your videos reinforce that ideology. Thank you captain. Tight lines and keep up the great content

    That's the best way to use a paddle tail... straight retrieve (with maybe an occasional pause if the fish are being hesitant to commit)

    I like to start with a top water bait if conditions allow it. Other wise I move to a paddle tail as a search bait. After the last few trips, I am mostly rigging weedless. I like the Idea of cast and just retrieve technique. Once fish are located, I will move a jerk if the is slowing.

    Yes. Great way to locate them. You can then even change it up, slow it down and work an area for more then or, jot down the characteristics of the strike location, to focus on more locations with similar characteristics.
    The one fun thing is, fishing like that up in the Nature Coast, you'll prolly catch four to five Trout between Redfish!
    Another great video breaking it down and showing the great techniques.

    Hello CCA , Thanx for passing on ur many yearz of knowledge & experience ,,, So much to glean ,,, So many variables ,,,, on ‘power fishing ‘ u recommend - will this also apply wadefishing more stained water ( w some clarity of course ) on shallow ( 12” - 24” ) texas gulf midcoastal waterz where many times u have to perch urself in a dead or living reef patch to maintain urself so as not to sink two ft into creamy mudsilt ,,, wen retrieving da paddletail & u get a strike : it is a subtle take or is it a solid thump by the gamefish ? ,, Thnx A Lot CA & GB ✨🐟

    • @johnkarges8829
      @johnkarges8829 Год назад

      Often the strikes on a straight retrieved paddletail are like the fish wants to jerk the rod out of your hand, especially on redfish. For trout, it can be a more subtle thump that will make you think it’s a smaller fish. Setting the hook will show you it often isn’t, as trout do an inhalation gulp that feels small but then explodes as the gator trout it is on the hookset.

    ****Never mind. I did some detective work. You are no longer a Falcon Pro. No more Falcon No more Evinrude. Been quite a year I guess.
