From your video, the takeaway could be, 'The bottom line is yes - the more expensive speakers are totally worth x3 the budget pair, but don't knock the budget pair, because it is totally the best value!'
Great video. I've been using Klipsch Promedia 2.1's for about 7+ yrs. I still really enjoy listening to them, just looking to upgrad to something more high end. Presonus is looking like a really good option.
thanks for the video man Ive been using the e3.5 for 3 years now and now im planning to get 5" monitors and i was still deciding between e5xt or jbl 305p mkii i guess ive made my decision, presonus it is.
Great video, thanks for the help. I have the 8's and was wanting to go down, but enjoyed the speakers they are a just a bit too much at 8". I think I'm going 3.5. Great demo song also, so thanks for the heads-up on Chris Jones "Long after You're Gone". ;) Btw going 3.5 leaves room for a new-different monitor controller in the budget!!
@tellyfuxnbeast,,Which is better, the 3.5 or the 5XT? I notice it's connected through a mixer. It would be preferable without a mixer, just on the Focusrite Scarlett, for clarity.
@@kljgiourb go with the 5xt the 3.5 are good with a sub 8 but if I had to get a pair of budget friendly monitors I would go with the kali audio lp6 or 8’s
Many thanks for amazing video Plz help , I have this speakers ers 5 ,my problem is after some time work , I found it very very very hot from back of speakers , what's can I do , it is normal or what
I'm looking at a pair of E5 XT vs Edifier S2000 mk3. Any advice? For TV use and occasional music. Important question though, do they make a hissing sound when there is no signal? And is there a auto power off after a while of no signal or auto turn on when signal detected? Thanks!
for TV use you would be better off with the Edifier speakers. The E5 XT sounds amazing for music but they are designed to be monitors and are rather flat. They are also designed to be heard close up. Movies sound better with multimedia speakers.
@@TonyHob I kinda like it flat. I have Genelecs on my pc and very happy with them so thats why I was thinking of flat monitors for thr tv as well. Hearing the dialog is very important to me.. Also looking at the RCF Ayra Pro 6. Hard choices
Is there a notable difference at which volume they are usable or is that no concern at all? I once had speakers that sounded really muddy when quiet and where way too loud when the sound was acceptable.
The Eris E8 XT's are the best if you have the room & have good quality stands...true balanced monitors with some real bass, i don't know how anyone can mix Rap or any music with a 5 string bass on less than 8" bass/mid drive units...subs are no good for mixing bass or low end music, i have played bass for many many years & recorded for a couple.....i got my E8 XT's for a good price....£360 for the pair..👍
Actually it's an excellent song to use for sq demonstrations. Unfortunately it didn't come across very well in this video. Take a look at my video called "The Audio System in my 2016 Honda Accord Sport".

Could not have said it better myself 👍
I'm amazed by how great the 3.5s are. I have a pair for 4 months now for mixing purposes. I find that I need the upgrade. Thanks for the video!

Blew my eris 4.5.. upgraded to the E 5 XT, wow.....love them. Definitely worth the money
The more I use the 5 XT the more I like them. Great monitors!
@@TonyHob just choosing some tracks for tonight's mix and it's like listening with fresh ears..love them
I have also r1700 it sound loud more than you expect in it's price!
Agree! The Edifier are great speakers ❤️
One can always go with Eris E5 1st gen which have the same drivers as the xt but is currently much cheaper. I also find the 1st gen more balanced.
2x this!
I have the 3.5’s thinking about getting another pair or powered monitor to make them both active monitors, im also getting the 5xt

I think it’s normal. Mine get very hot too
@@TonyHob many thanks ❤️
I plan on getting the 3.5's. I'm space constrained so I have no choice. Perhaps I should get a subwoofer in the future to go along with them.
I have both a 3.5 BT and a 4.5 BT set of speakers. For desktop listening the 4.5 BT has plenty of bass. The 3.5 are ok.
Do you have a subwoofer with the 3.5? 🤔 Do the 5 need one?

How do these compare to the eris e5?
I don’t know

Both these speakers sound great throughout their volume range
Bro, Presonus Eris 3.5 or Edifier MR4? THNKSSS
Haven’t tried the MR4 but I can tell you I love the 3.5’s Great idea for a comparison though. I might just have to buy a pair of MR4’s… 👍
@@TonyHob thnks!
whats the difference between the Presonus Eris E5 XT and PreSonus Eris 5BT 2024
Is e5 xt better than the regular e5?
Yes
3.5 or 4.5 ?? For mastering
4.5
Is the 5xt great upgrade from edifier r1700?
The 5xt are definitely louder, the difference in sound depends on personal preference but to me they also sound better than the Edifier

I have the E7 and they are rather big. The bass is really good on the E7’s. I would imagine the E8’s to be amazing. You got them at a great price too!
I did not hear 100% difference in sound (prices as of today).
I think the E3.5 is the best value out there
What's the song
I'm not sure, but I got hit with a copyright infringement for it, LOL
Chris Jones "Long After You're Gone".
Well if it's a "tough choice" then for value for money the Eris 3.5 wins doesn't it?
3.5 s win
Pretty weak song to show the differences! Needs something with a beat and several instruments to hear instrument separation etc.
I keep getting hit with copyright infringement by YT. LOL!
