i've been mixing just 1 song with different emulation of speakers thru dsoniq realphones. when mixing what i notice is that if the speaker is mid focus your mix sounds really good. if it's a boomy speakers your mixes sounds boomy. thats why i boosted my xt5's mid range, my mixes translate well. mids is where the meat is.

Thanks for the video. I ended up getting the Eris E7 XT as there isn't an equivalent in the Studio line. Additionally the Eris XT line appears to be cheaper/clearancing in stores.
Vinyl sounds great through these monitors.

The soundstage on the newer mix is much bigger, that was the biggest difference. There's a much clearer separation of all of the different elements. Vocals sound clearer and full while I can hear different instruments in each ear. Pretty massive difference.

I'm listening on Yamaha Hs5 with Presonus Temblor T10 Sub. The Studio 5 mix definitely won the shootout. Everything was much better placed, vocals sat better on top of the mix, and there was much more clarity in the mix.

For me I think the newer monitor mix was cleaner to my ears. Especially with how the vocal sat in the mix. 👍

I was so mad, I copped the Eris E5 XT's over the summer. Just recently, one of the monitors was giving off a crackling sound with no audio plug connected. I said, F IT and copped the new Eris Studio 5's. So far, so good.

Hello, you didn't make the same gain on the e5 xt as on the studio 5, e5 xt sound too quiet in comparation studio 5. there is need to use microphone for to do the same volume level.

hands down the studio 5. The kick had to much thump on the 5XT. I thought the studio 5 had a clearer mix with more "sparkle". FYI, I own a pair of the 5XT.

I had E7s and they did sound well. Sold them cos' I had few problems:
    - background noise from 50Hz in electric field. annoing a lot!
    - no standby mode. It's tricky to on and off them sometimes in my room.
But! THE SOUND! they sound so cool) It's a huge step forward from Yamahas and JBLs, but I need little more features.
maybe you have oportunity to compare those new Eris with Focal Alpha Evo 50?
    thanks for review)

I prefer the XT's Studio 5's mix is too bright and separated and bass is more present.

the studio 5 mix sounds better imo , more of a full live sound

I think you got a much livelier mix using the new monitors, everything sounding more separated and punchy. I assume the articulation of details in the new monitors are good in the new version, if you were able to improve it?

Hello, I have a question: will you also review the pro versions? I'm waiting for some reviews of the pro version so as not to overpay in a situation where it turns out that pro 8 sounds the same as studio 8, e.g.

Please correct me as I'm probably getting the wrong idea... But when you mixed the track on the studio 5's why is it wider? Does this mean the stereo perception in your mix room was narrower with the Studio 5 and you overcompensated? Also the XT mix seems like its much duller - does this mean that the XT are harsh in the room?

Tested the 4.5 BT recently. Not suitable for near-field monitors, too much amplifier hiss. Is a no-go for me, returned them.

I did prefet the mix on the XT, it's roundy and fleshy to me, the other one, the studio mix seemed too clinic, too bright, elements too detached. Sorry I'm not a fan of the song at all , especially solo guitar all the time.. Thank you anyway for your video. (it seemed they re not played at the exact same volume too).

I agree, I felt like the vocals and guitar were so far forward that I lost the drums and bass behind them. I may go with the XTs as I have a very small space and the extra 20 degrees of space is not critical, as I do mostly VO work, plus a flatter frequency response is better in my world. Thanks for the video, it's very helpful.

Driver size is the same. It’s ported a bit further into the body of the speaker too. Camera perspective/lens distortion might be why it looks smaller too.

Hmmmm...the new Studio 5 sounded clearer but i know they are the same amp design as the XT just a standby switch, handy, & a tiny bit more power & a horizontal 120°
waveguide, the Studio's do sound better but were they at the exact same settings ?
i have the PreSonus Eris 8XT's..their as clean sounding as the Studio 5's with more bass, 35hz , but it is an 8" bass/mid drive unit..
i like the 1 1/4" silk dome wire protected tweeter...full bodied, clean & clear & the only active monitors i have seen with a +6db/-6db midrange pot, the midrange is where the magic in a mix happens, as well as a +6db/-6db treble pot & a 3-position switch bass shelving system, i like... standby switches would be nice i admit....as long as my 8XT's keep working as well as they do i am happy as i got them new for £250 for a boxed pair...used with high quality quad sheilded cables with TRS to XLR plugs...less noise & used with a sheilded cabled Tascima filtering 6 plug power trail gang socket (£35 - £40) helps keep any buzzing or noises from the 8XT's or any equipment connected to the Tascima.... i use a Tascima sheilded cable 6 plug power trail gang for playing bass live , powers my bass amp & effects board...it helps keep most interference away from any connected equipment....& i swear the Tascima makes your speakers & gear sound better imo.....
