#PreSonus #StudioMonitors
The PreSonus ERIS E3.5 studio monitors are a huge "bang for the buck".
These monitors have no business sounding as good as they do for their size and price.
No, they are not "the best monitors in the world", but they are pretty amazing for small, inexpensive speakers, that you can actually mix on.
The are well balanced and relatively flat. The top-end is clear and crisp, the midrange is articulate, and the low-end is tight and punchy.
Now, don't expect a rumbling, deep low-end! These are 3.5 inch speakers after all and physics are still a thing. But, the amount of low-end they do have is impressive. After you learn these monitors, you'll be able to mix with confidence that your mixes will translate to other systems. You also have the option of adding in the matching ERIS 8" Sub if you need to hear that extreme bass.
The ERIS 3.5 monitors are perfect for beginners who don't want to invest a ton of money into speakers, but also need something they can mix on.
They are also perfect for more advanced mixers who just want something small, or they want an extra set of monitors to check their mix on.
And the ERIS E3.5 also perform well as standard computer speakers, or for video editors, gaming, and anyone who wants small, flat speakers, that won't break the bank.
By the way, these things get VERY LOUD! Way louder than I ever expected.
Plus there's some cool features like an AUX input on the front to quickly connect your phone, tablet, or even laptop.
They also have a 3.5mm (1/8") headphone input right on the front of the monitors. And, when you plug your headphones in, the speakers are bypassed - which is a nice feature.
If you want some small monitors that you can mix on, then these are worth a look. 👍👍

this or SC-AKX320 Mini Systems?
Since sound is flat and there is no bass for studio monitors, is it better to choose a subwoofer for these in case of movies or gaming?? Which subwoofer would you suggest?
I'm thinking of buying a pair of these mini beasts. Pair it with my JBL LSR310 Subwoofer UPDATE; Received them this morning...installed them...and far out, you're not wrong...they sound so big for a 3.5" monitors...I use them as daily driving listening speakers.
I feel lucky to be starting out at a time that monitors of this quality are fairly inexpensive compared to what they once were. Awesome review!
Man THANK YOU! So many reviews on RUclips are stupid. It seems many are unnecessarily chatty or cute. You cut right to the chase and didn't waste my time.
Great review have just got these ordered for my home studio, great content and info on this channel thanks for what you are doing dude
Finally, a good review video to show the capabilities of these small speakers. I need some reference monitors for mid-high range exactly, since I'm having a PA system that works from 25Hz up to 20KHz, but starting the system every time is not good and can easily kill my ears. :D So, I glad that I found this video. As you mentioned exactly: These are "flat" and not coloring the sound. This is exactly what I need as very small form factor reference speakers. Thanks for this great review! It really helps me to make the final decision.
Great review, very succinct. I was tempted by the Alesis Elevate 3 MKII but have since decided these are superior based on the number of positive user experiences.
The best explanation, the voice modulation and how you explain are great. New SUBS here 👋🏼
I have these and they are a great value for the price. If you want more power you can always go for the 4.5 or the 5.5 models too. All are fantastic. :)
The best video on these monitors I’ve watched so far 👏🏾
Sir your video is so informative and quality of video is so good.. Thank u so much for this video...
Finally got the Eris 3.5.Theyr'e great! The lows are just right where they need to be for my taste, the mids/ highs are nice and clear and not drowned out by the low end which plagues a lot of monitors at this price point.turned up some classic rock and funk, followed by track I mixed and it all sounded pretty rad.Glad I got these bad boys.🤖⚡
Thanks for this video! Amazing quality btw :) good luck!
Just got these in the mail today excited to try them out
Straight to the point... I liked that.
Subscribed🎉
Thank you for this review. Appreciate you. Buying these today.
I have the 3.5's, 5's and the presonus 8" sub woofer hooked up to the presonus monitor station v2 in my studio. I am very happy with the set up, I have a couple of friends with studios locally, they like to double check their mixes at my place for any wayward frequencies.
To what level is your room accousticly treated?
@@judtt I've tried to cut out the most offensive reflections in the room, that's it. since posting the original review I realise that I hardly use the 5's unless I wish to blast the mix, I generally stick to the 3.5s with subwoofer, my system allows me to choose which monitors to listen to or all simultaneously. If I was purchasing today I'd probably swop the 5's for another brand. Having said that I still enjoy using them.
Just bought them. They sound super cool for 99$. Great product
I just ordered these exact speakers and I can't wait to use them.
Great review and sick tune, bro!
I am not writing comments that often, but after this video, I had to. Great work, keep it up!!
Amazing review, thank you! Curious - how’s the clarity when it comes to the vocals and when using it for “normal” listening (e.g. live streaming)?
Had these for 2 years..they arw exceptional. Use them for DJ practice and PC. Didn't know they had a sub available. I'll pick up the sub next!
Incredible review , thank you.
Honest review! Subscribed . Thnxxx
Thank you for the very informative review. I wanted some speakers to replace my cheap logitech speakers that sound at least a little better. Definitely picking these up.
These are great speakers, bro. Seriously. 95% of your mix should be on these monitors before you verify your low frequency and separation with the big guys. This shit will save your ears and allow you to mix for a LONG TIME. I got mine on sale for $69/pr a couple of years from Bezos shop. Thumbs up on this. Alternatively, you can use this as AURATONE mono speaker alternative. These are BETTER than those.
thanks for this review man i appreciated
Thank you for the review, you've convinced me to get a pair :D I'm not professionally making music, I'm just doing it as a hobby, and I think they're good enough for that - given I was using my headphones to mix :D
It will be a big upgrade over headphones only👍 You can also add a virtual mix room plugin for the times you want to check your mix in different virtual rooms. Something like Waves CLA Nx for example, but there are a ton out there. waves.alzt.net/ZdYdOK
How are these working for you now?
Great Review my Brother!
thanks for the video! im thinking of getting it but i would like to know how long is the power cable in mm.
Great review thank you!!!!
Thanks for the great content.🙂
Very well done video. Thanks ✌️
When I went to buy HS5s and also listened to these. I can say these are pretty impressive for the price.
Great review
I live in a 550 sq ft studio apartment, these kick some butt with my turntable. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
I have a pair of those recently and can confirm: I am pretty impressed with the overall quality!!
Likewise really good for the price
@@jeromesimon8916 does it go loud ? I am looking for some speakers to blast some music on in my bedroom. Can you fine tune the bass of it ?
@@mask_replays8618 They're loud for the size, I recommend them if you need small, budget speakers
guys which better this set or the edifier a1280?
@@simonsamson9967 can't speak on the edifiers, but I'm still using the presonus 3 at home and I recommend them. But they do have unbalanced connections which is causing interference when I adjust the volume. But these sound good for the size but don't expect much bass
Great Video!!! Do you have any suggestions as far as the best way to adjust the highs and lows for hip hop and rnb to get a better mix??? ... I'm Looking To Move Up To The 5's For My Bedroom Stu. 🙏🏾💯
Interesting. Very cool. Thanks!
Thanks for a great overview
4.17_I don't know what track you were playing but I LOVE it. Time to get out the Shazam I feel
These are really nice. I got them for my record player, second hand. They work wonderfully.
I felt like I stole them after setting them up and working on them. Great companions to my HS8's. NIce review.
❤ from Burundi 🇧🇮. I will definitely buy these and the Eris Sub to extend the low end
Awesome speakers, Bluetooth is superb and easy to pair up, best bang for buck awesome sound quality so happy
I have the E 8's, and they are incredible.
100USD level is long time divided between Mackie(tuned more for bass party thumping), M-audio(flattest tuning for monitors, but detail clarity is questionnable) and these (clarity trough emphasized highs, tends to v-sound rather than flat). But now, there is new kid on the block - recommending to check Edifier MR4 costs only 30bucks more, and outperforms these in both tuning and details.
I used to mix in AKC k712s and liked the way these little 3.5 motions moved air. Almost exclusively mix with them and I cannot believe how rich they sound. Especially with neural dsp plugins.
Great video! Thank you for helping me out with deciding if I should buy those :) am wondering if u or anyone could help me and tell me if I could place them horizontally on my desk? Would it be unbeneficial for optimal sound quality / performance or is it not going to make any difference how I place them?
Thanks for helping out!
Just got mine an hour ago. Had to go to work before I tried them. But I was able to set them up.😊
Thank you bro very very nice video 🎉
I really need monitors for my mixing,so I just ordered them before they go up in price🤖⚡
Great review ❤sub
So I'm new to audio equipment so I'm not sure what to buy in general. Should I go for the 3.5 with a sub or the 4.5s by them self. Also how would I hook them up to the sub
I just Bought these and I will be mainly using them for media consumption and piano because I need a flap enough sound so that my digital piano sound more realistic.
I just ordered a set of these for the exact same reason. I am downgrading from my main speakers because I am moving. I don't want to take my bigger main studio speakers since I won't be making music. How do these speaker sound when you play the piano?
Bruh, can you please tell me the model of these one at 5:09? The audio quality is insanely good to my ears!
i have had these for my turntable for about a year now and i must say… they are really really great entry level speakers. maybe the biggest bang for buck in the game.
Im looking for a stereo setup and am considering harman kardon aura studio 3 ,creative pebbles and presonus 3.5s. I dunno if its a good idea to buy monitors for casual music. Wdyt?
This is how you do a review tip my hat off to you. I'm listening on a z-2300 (200w rms) but with electricity prices in my country tripling I'm thinking about downgrading to something like this. Could definitely feel more bass on your reference set.
How is bass in these speakers. Will it have a nice rich shake kind of feel
is there any differences in sound with an audio interface ?
All reviews should be like this one
I have these they are really good and worth it only thing I may think of adding is a sub which is on the works for me to grab one
These are perfect for my digital piano ! Nice
Thanks for the review bro, I will buy this bout bundle aduio box 96 including speaker 4.5 speaker Bluetooth
Is there any way to connect these speakers with another pair of them in second room?
i've had my 3.5's w/BT for almost 2 years...they make GREAT PC speakers. I upgraded to the 4" model without BT and moved the 3.5s to the kid's keyboard (also sounds great now). The 3.5s sound very good for what they are but I would not call them 'great' mixing speakers nor flat. That said, they don't cause me stress listening to them for hours on end. I've been using them for background music and Team's/Zoom meetings since 2021.
Really impressive for a 3.5 inch!
This was super helpful. I’m looking for a set of new speakers for my setup that I can start mixing and mastering for recording. It seems like a great place to get started without breaking the bank. Thanks!
Excellent!!!
Is the noise floor better that mackie cr3 or cr4?
Is it possible to use these for surround sound with my tv sound bar? Is there a way to connect to Sound bar and have audio play out of both the speakers and the sound bar?
How do I go about connecting my sub and getting audio from my TV?
i'm looking for the same specs or close but with usb and internal dac ?
How does it sound in comparisong with iLoud Micro Monitors?
Sound great 👍 👌
what's appenend if i conect both way cables?
Aux and RCA.
4:44 there we go, now we cooking! The drop from rock to r&b sounds good.
best review 👍
I miss the bass frequencies, I'm going to think about another type of monitors for my setup, 80hrz is not enough. Thanks for reviewing for us.. Amazing test.
you can always add the sub 💥
@@BenoniStudio I have a 2 speakers Resolved 50a with frequency around 20hrz, but they are to much big for my desk.
much appreciated.
Can these be used for gaming on pc? Can they be good for being sound output for gaming monitors that have no speakers??
Are the RCA cables supposed to fit loose?
Can I directly connect these directly to my Zoom G3XN for the Amp Sims via the RCA to 3.5mm stereo jack?
So if you bought the sub with these, can you use the TRS lines to go straight to the sub?
From 2:20 to 2:30 you talk about quarter inch trs cables. Mine didn't come with those cables. Could I still set it up to my PreSonus interface with the cables provided in the box?
Would like to ask if those have a fatiguing or bright sounding treble. Everyone is recommending them, but using my HD 598cs headphones they seem a bit harsh. What is your experience?
Can i connect them on a 3.5mm output on a motherboard ?
Sry for my english 😅
thank you for testing some METAL on this one!
I have purchased Eris E3,5, because I like to make mix and master on a small monitors and last stage at home stereo alike speakers (Edifier 1600 or Tannoy Mercury). And at the first moment, I have had kind of mixed impressions. Highs, and most of the sound picture has been brutally accurate. But woofer has been "booming" (could be due the small membrane, and tunning of bass reflex to 150 Hz). But I took some time to break the speaker from "stiffness" after the manufacturing. Now, a weeks after sound is way better. Laws of fisics does not give chance 3,5 inch woofer and small volume box to reproduce fundamental basses. But after some time with Eris 3,5 you can feel them by sound engineer instinct. Good studio monitors. But time will tell are they durable, as they seem not been design for repair works. That is regarded to pasive piece. My last album was mastered on Eris 3,5.
Finally someone that has the exact same observation. I'm glad I'm not the only one because I thought my speakers are broken. I am going to change them and upgrade to bigger ones to get rid of that booming
These speaker’s are legit for the price point! I saw slightly bad reviews on Amazon. People need to understand you get what you pay for. They sound good and get the job done they don’t sound like my Yamaha hs8’s but for $99 bucks they are awesome and actually are worth more in my opinion.
You aren't gonna get $1000 dollar sound for $99. For the price, these are excellent!
what headphones are you using in this video?
How can I connect the Presonus to my pc? do they come with the 3.5 cable?
Whats the model# for the 8” monitors? Not the presonus , the ones in the back?
Anyone know what thickness the pairing cable is (red and white?) I lost mine
These speakers need any acoustical treatment or we can use it In normal room??
How good is the built in Headphone Amp ? Can they drive high impedance Headphones ? Anyone tried ? I already have the E5's and considering the 3.5's as an alt. all-in-one smaller setup, for their headphone output mainly.
so many reviews on here don't even give a general sense on how they like, all they show is charts which is annoying asf. thank you for actually giving us an idea on how they'll sound like!
Wow! Really like those 8” monitors way much better! 6:47
How do I connect it to my Pinoeer Dj set please?
Is it worth the change from the Logitech z333? I’m looking to clean up the floor beneath my desk and wanna move away from a sub. Will I be missing much?
Hey this high quality content of comparison and review was so crip, short, clear, easy to decide and absolutely - 0 - confusion based ... my dear thanks so so much😀
