    Charles, your video was the only I found so far that showed how to get a stuck door to slide. Our door was seized and would not open due the jammed cable binding on the motor drive mechanism. Thanks for this, your jammed door fix is the best!

    Thank you for this video! My 2011 sienna cable snapped and the door would not operate at all yesterday. I had no clue how to get the first screw out of the panel. I broke out my Grandfathers old counter grinder and shaved down a bit. Worked like a charm. After that It was smooth sailing. Replaced the cable and door works perfectly. Truly amazing.

    Thank you!! Your video was spot on and extremely helpful. I had the same problem, with the door stuck closed and had to fashion a bit/T25 to remove door panel screw from the side using 1/4” wrench. Removed the inside panel to access the door wire spool connected to the motor. Door works manually now and awaiting the new part.

    Much appreciated. video really helped me know what I would be getting into and gave me courage to fix our 2011 Sienna XLE. I had the exact same issue; door was jammed shut because cable broke and unspooled within the mechanism. was able to get door opened and working manually. then purchased cable part from dealer $52 … and it installed without issue. thank you for this video!!

      So I did both doors starting with passenger, and due to the video it was pretty much exactly like this. My driver side was having problems before but still opened. I replaced the cable Mech and it power opens but won’t close. Actuated but just gets held up in back locked position. Gonna research a bit and let you know what happpens. Any one has suggestions I’m all ears

    What happens if the black and silver cables come out of the wheel? I ordered a replacement part and I noticed that the wheel wasn't attached. I was able to get it back on but I didn't know if there was a certain amount of cable that needs to be spooled into the wheel... Thanks.

      I am planning to buy 2011 sienna, it has 110 k miles.
      I like to replace the transmission oil and filter !
      Any suggestion or advice, please.
      Currently I have 2004 camery 2.4 L. It has 253k miles. I brought in 2011 when it has 62k miles.
      Last year I had replaced all 4 shocks( full assembly), transmission oil and filter, & all liquids flush.
      Few days ago on 11-11-19 I had replace all 4 breaks, transmission oil ,
      catalytic converter , O2 sensor , thermostat sensor, temperate sensor.
      VALVOLINE high miles OIL 10w-40. & spark plugs.
      After that cars is flying. It soo light.
      But only thing is It don't have pickup like other cars. I have all documents since I bought the car, No accident till now.

      No filter to change in that vehicle. I didn't do a fluid change on that particular vehicle. The dealer did that work. I don't believe there's a dipstick on that car.

    • @CharlesAndCars
      @CharlesAndCars  5 лет назад

      It's a "sealed" system on that Sienna. It can be done with a machine through the transmission oil coil lines, but it's not a simple one as some are.

I'm going to keep at it but what I want to know it where did you get your replacement part from and how much did it run you?, if you don't mind me asking

    Please tell me, my door opens automatically, but doesn’t want to close. It’s as if something is holding it and doesn’t allow it to close automatically, so you have to close it manually. What could be the problem? Has anyone encountered such a problem?

    • @CharlesAndCars
      @CharlesAndCars  10 месяцев назад

      Hard to say exactly what it is. I would look at the cable mechanism and possibly the rollers that the door rides on. The rollers are known for going bad as well.

    • @ElSopran
      @ElSopran Месяц назад

      Any idea how to go about this if it’s the rollers.. tried everything else. Still stuck.. won’t budge an inch!

    I wonder if this is a common problem. Toyota should build better .

    How to make sure passenger sliding is in manual?

    • @CharlesAndCars

      If I remember correctly there's a switch on the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel to put the sliding doors into manual mode.

    Thanks for making the video. I can understand your lighting struggles. I bought an LED light that screws into a single light bulb socket but blasts the garage with 8000 lumens of LED light. Check it out at on Amazon at the link below:
