- The Coast of Maine | Fuji X Photography! This week we head up the coast of Maine to look for good locations for our Maine Lighthouse Tour. We found some great lighthouses, harbors, lobster shacks and other really cool places along the way. We went from Bailey Island all the way down the coast to Kittery ending up at Nubble Light on Cape Neddick. A great day with some incredible clouds that brought the light in and out all day which made it a challenge.

Wow, makes me want to join the Maine Lighthouse tour! Nice images, especially the first images.
Allan sign on for next year Bill and I will be doing a couple of videos during the tour. It should be a lot of fun.
Those lighthouse are epic!! Great stuff Kirk!
Many Thanks IllumiGraphic!
Thanks for making this video. Lots of great shots. The B&W Lobster Pound House was my favorite!
Thanks David! The tour we are doing in a couple of week should be awesome.
I love my 16-80. Nice images there Kirk!
Thanks Harold! Yup same here!
I really liked the last image with the light pouring down from above and the shadows dark in the lower half. I often find in fuji images with high dynamic range you have to lift the shadows, This is a great example of when you have to subdue them. Also loved the contrast in the BW lobster pot image.
Thanks Andrew, yes Fuji sensors do a fabulous job.
Nice video again Kirk. you give me so much inspiration.
Thanks Peder! It’s all about getting out and photographing whatever inspires.
Can’t wait to shoot and teach with the great Kirk Williamson!
Thanks Bill same your way!
Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Jaime!
great shots, beautiful area.
Thanks Rich!
That's a beautiful part of the country you're in Kirk.
We're heading off tomorrow for a weekend up in the Highlands here in Scotland. I'll take my XT2 with the 16-80 and the 55-200.
Have a great weekend Kirk.
Hope your weekend in Scotland gets you some awesome images.
You take beautiful photos 👍🏻🌅. My wife and I visited Prince Edward Island and a couple of the lighthouses there; very stunning scenery.
Nathaniel PEI is on my list of places to visit!
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography You won't regret it!
Thanks for the video Kirk, really loved it. Some of those shots are just amazing. My favourite is the 16-80mm B&W shot of the lighthouse with the dramatic cloud. Looks like Maine is a great place to live if you are a photographer. We have friends that we met on a cruise years ago that live in Maine (cannot remember the town) and they are always asking us to come over (we live in Sydney, Australia). Their promise to us is all the lobster we can eat!! After watching your videos I think we will have to make plans to get over there in the next couple of years. Would love to time it with one of your tours and kill two birds with one stone. I sold my 18-55mm and 56mm lenses and will be picking up the 70-300mm pretty soon. Thanks again Kirk.
Yes Maine is an awesome place. I enjoy visiting as often as I can. You will love the 70-300.
Love the B&W. Proves Paul Simon is wrong!
Haha Ron good line even though I love the song.
Hey Kirk, great images! I'm hoping to do your lighthouse photo tour some day. Great locations there on the east coast.
Thanks Geoff! It’s pretty awesome next year will probably be even better.
Great shots!
Thanks!
Great images!
Thanks Wil!
These are frankly the best images I’ve seen from you before. Especially the b&w images. Great job Kirk!
Thanks Andy! Some of my best anyway. Doing both video and stills is hard. So getting great images and good video is a difficult process.
Hi Kirk, Those Fuji colors are awesome. Which film simulation did you choose? I loved that you used your 16 -80 lens a lot .... that's the lens I got along with my XT4. BTW, I bet you ate some good seafood there. Thanx Kirk for your video/photos !!
Hi Fairstamp thanks. I usually use the Fuji Astia profile in LR.
You got some great images there Kirk. Love the wide perspective that the 10-24 lens gives. Maine looks a beautiful place :-)
Thanks Steve! Some distortion going on from pointing the lens down.
Very impressive images, Kirk. I'd like to know the film simulation used for the back and white shots, or were they conversions in post? Our government won't allow is to travel overseas any time soon, so I'll have to be patient for a lot longer before visiting Cape Ann and Maine, Best regards, Richard
Hi Richard, I used Acros with the red filter when making the shot but used Silver Efex Pro for conversions. I make a nice color rendition enhancing the blue some then do the conversion. Oh I shoot Raw & Jpg so I have the option.
Hey Kirk, some really beautiful shots !! Did you stay with capture one ?
Mike I still use it from time to time. I did not upgrade to 21. I still get great results out of LR and all my whole catalogs from the past 5 years are on there. I lose all my edits if I move the catalogs
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography THANK YOU
Nice video kirk
Thanks Steve!
That's it I'm definitely going Fuji probably the XS10 with the 18 to 55 kit lens and the 55 to 200. Would you suggest I get a 1.4x teleconvertor as well?
Keith teleconverters don’t work on the 55-200 only the 50-140, 70-200, 100-400. That is a nice setup the X-S10 you will like it.
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography Great thanks for the advice Kirk, watched a lot of your videos for advice and will settle on this new setup a big step up from my Panasonic FZ82. How good is the 55 to 200 for birds and wildlife in general?
Well the 55-200 is a bit short for that stuff. I full frame terms it’s a 300 at the long end. The 70-300 would be a better choice but it’s more money.
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography OK no problem thanks again
