I grew up in Maine. Was born in Bar Harbor and the rest of my time at Sugarloaf ski resort. Have lived in Georgia for the last 22 years. I miss Maine all the time. This was lovely!
This took me back to the summer of 2021. My husband and I got married in Connecticut and honeymooned the entirety of New England and Maine blew us the way. We did a lobster fishing expedition, went to endless lobster shacks for lunch, Holy Donut and the Portland lighthouse which, like you mentioned is incredible. Rumor has it that it’s the one in the Red Lobster advertising. We always have the best time in Maine and we’re planning another trip there before the end of the year. TFS.
Mainer here! This video makes me so happy and is a nice reminder of how lucky I am to live in this beautiful state 🥰 thank you for sharing so many magical places around the US and the world!
I have taken a couple of trips to Maine. We drove there, so I was able to take my bicycle. For any of your viewers that like to bike, I would recommend exploring the area on two wheels. On my last trip, we stayed at a house in Bar Harbor. From there, I did a ride on Park Loop Road to Jordan Pond. Then I took the carriage paths in the park around Jordan Pond and Eagle Lake. It is a great way to see places that you might otherwise miss if you are only walking or driving. Thanks for the video!
THIS IS MY SIGN! I’ve been wanting to venture into solo travel for so long now, and my dream domestic destination is Maine- so I think it’s time. ❤ Thanks for sharing!
@@sr8877 noooo not yet 😫 I actually booked my next trip to Georgia and South Carolina bc I found cheap flights… but I’m hoping after that can be Maine!
The coast of Maine is at the top of my list after I was recommended an instagram where a photographer lives and takes photos in the coast of Maine and your video makes me want to go again!! It is so stunning and peaceful
Maine is lovely. It’s why I moved home after many years away. The rest of us have mountains and forests, ponds, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. And relatively few tourists. Next time, you should come inland and see what the rest of the state has. 🙂
I did a summer camp in Maine last summer and it was honestly the best time of my life. I was 18 from the UK and didn't know what to expect from Maine as there isn't many videos on it. The state is so beautiful with the best sunsets I've ever seen and amazing stars, the nature is just amazing that you bond with people through it rather than the normal ways of drinking and partying. I honestly couldn't recommend going to Maine more, I then traveled the whole East Coast after and I can still say Maine is my favorite. This video gave loads of nostalgia, and it feels like I've already peaked in life lol
You are such an inspiration for me when it comes to travelling. I have been following you for years, and your philosophy on travelling is something that I remind myself everyday. Thank you for creating a really wonderful content and share amazing jewels of this Earth with us. I love that your content is more nature based :) Keep up the good work and greetings from Serbia.
I'm from Quebec, I did a roadtrip from Nova Scotia to British Colombia 2 day after I got my passport. Next summer, i'm definitely roadtripping the east coast of the US starting with Maine !
This is so beautiful! I was born in Maine and then lived there again in elementary school as a kid, but haven't been back since. It's a beautiful state and I loved it when I was there as a child. Would love to go back now!
We loved Maine when we went in Fall of 2021! The foliage was stunning in interior Maine. The coast doesn’t get much foliage change with all the pine trees.
my husband and i traveled to maine, new hampshire and vermont in 2017 (from arizona). we absolutely loved maine, esp. the coastal sites. acadia np is wonderful and we enjoyed bar harbor. my fav stop, though, was camden. it was just so calming. i will def. be back to maine. i’ve traveled a good deal and it’s one of my favorite u.s. states.
I am SO loving your travel videos. They make me relax and your shots are GORGEOUS!!! Thank you for brightening my days with your talent. I seriously don’t understand why you don’t have a million followers, but I am happy with you being a secret among us already here. ❤
My husband and I visited last year in August and it was breathtaking! I’m in love with Maine. Also can confirm that the hike to Cadillac Mtn was challenging…mostly because of the multiple mountains you have to hike to get there 😅
Very professional video Allison, thank you , it was so interesting. I have never wanted to visit the USA because I don’t like flying, but Maine looks so similar to many parts of the UK, I think I would enjoy it. ❤
I've been lucky enough to be a summer resident/home owner up next to Acadia on the Schoodic side which IMO is WAY BETTER for the past 40 yrs, I've seen All there is there it it never gets Old or Boring!!What I loved about this video was the drone shots ,give you those pics and vids you'd Never be able too see on the rocky cliffs of Maine!! I'm def considering getting that drone, thanks for that info and your great video!!I can't WAIT TO MOVE UP THERE FOR GOOD in the Next few Years!Maybe I'll see you up there again I'm EVERYWHERE IN THE ACADIA/DOWN EAST Region !Met countless people whom Ive Befriended from All over the World!Bet your next trip to Maine couldn't be soon enough because Mine never is!!God Bless Beautiful America!!!Enjoy
Ahh!! Ever since you posted about Maine on your Instagram stories I have been anxiously awaiting this video! I have really been debating taking my first ever solo trip to Maine recently and I believe this video has given me the push to book the trip. Great video, as always!
Hello Allison, My first trip to Acadia NP was a last moment change of plans, about fifteen years ago. I've been back five times. I grew up in the midwest, but my parents were from NY and MA, so I was no stranger to the ocean. Whenever I go east, that first whiff of salt water transports me back in time. Glad you enjoyed your experience in Maine, and thanks for posting this. (Looking over your shoulder from Otter Cliffs was fantastic.) 🙂
I went to Acadia about 10 years ago and I don’t remember needing a reservation for that road. Good to know. If you think Maine has a lot of lighthouses, you should check out Michigan. It has twice as many.
Allison, you amaze me with your skills of photography and smiley explaining. To put it poetically, your exciting face is lit as bright as the colorful morning bright sky. I knew Maine was very beautiful, just like Upper Michigan, close to Lake Superior, where I lived more than 40 years. Wonderful job...
Acadia is beautiful. Maine is on my list every year especially in early fall- I love foggy mornings in Booth Bay, sun rises in Ogunquit, great chowder in Bar Harbor, sailing from anywhere.
Oh. My. Goodness. First of all, as a lighthouse lover, this video is already epic. I have several books and mini-replicas of lighthouses..including Cape Neddick and Portland Head. But the rest of your footage is no less breathtaking. Seriously incredible. Those opening scenes of the fog below , with the lights from the boats gently piercing the grayness, gave a spooky and stunning vibe. Major chills there. That cliff hike at Acadia might be a little much for me, yikes. Congrats on doing that btw! But there's more than enough to fill the itinerary. This stirred my soul and stole my heart...all in 10 minutes. So yeah, safe to say Maine makes the list. Thanks so much Allison
thank you for highlighting our beautiful state - having been born, raised in Maine - we natives know what a gem it is. Headed up to Bar Harbor next week, as a matter of fact! You do need to make another trip - it's a very BIG state and much to see and experience - try our winter season!! ❄🌨☃⛷💗
I went to graduate school in new Hampshire and I still kick myself for never making it out to Maine. Such a gorgeous place. This gave me so many good feels ❤️
I love New England. Stayed in Ellsworth and did a food tour in Bar Harbor and went to quickly through Acadia. There is nothing like New England in the fall.
Dear Allison, i really love your content, storytelling and calmness infront of the camera. You really inspire me. Hopefully one day i can reach those heights. Much love from the the East African Nation of Uganda. And if you ever consider visiting Uganda, don't hesitate to reach out. We are home to more than half of the world's gorillas, home of the source of the Nile - world's longest and also home to the most powerful falls in the world
your videos always make me excited to travel more and appreciate all the beautiful scenery and spots a place has to offer after watching this video, i'm definitely adding maine to my travel list because i love a coastal town
Great video. The Coast of Maine is one of the most beautiful areas , especially the Acadia /Bar Harbor area….I’ve ever visited. It’s definitely Bucket List

Hoping to get there next summer. This video came just in time! Some of the spots I want to check out - other than the ones you mentioned are Victoria Mansion in Portland, Wild Blueberry Land in Columbia Falls, and Stephen King's House!

I currently live in Maine… I hope you were able to do scenic flights of Acadia… if you come back should definitely check them out!
THANK GOD you didn’t write “bucket list.” God I hate that term. Thank you for saying travel list.
I traveled to Bar Harbor before. I loved their lobster dishes and getting some homemade fudge over there. I wish I could’ve got a chance to go biking

Just don't tell everybody!😉 (Actually, everyone should get to experience the magic of Acadia.)
