As someone who was born in Maine and has lived in Maine for his life I agree put aside vacation and road trips I know Maine I've probably seen the hole state
Seriously, how does this not have more views?!?!?! I've seen so many travel videos that are filled with...well...crap. This was SOOOO not crappy lol. What a well done video all the way around (audio, visual, and narration)....without being annoying! We will be visiting in early spring, so will miss out on some things like the farmers markets. But you DEF gave me some ideas for places to eat and drink. Thank you so much for such a splendid video!!!
This was so wonderfully informative. For each activity you really give the viewers a feeling of atmosphere, and what they can expect and enjoy about the experience. Thank you, and continued happy travels!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I love traveling and I hope I can provide useful tips in every video I make. Be sure to subscribe so you can check out all the future videos and get some travel ideas!
Thank you for featuring Portland's farmer's market! I've been curious about Portland and checking out the local farmer's market scene is one of the first things I'm interested in. It looks lile they have a great market! Looking forward to more of your travel vlogs. : )
I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! The farmer’s market was great! I can’t wait to visit in other seasons as well to check out the other seasonal items!
Great video! I’ll be moving to Maine, an hour out of Portland, and I’m looking forward to many visits to Portland. This video really helped me to plan both winter trips and summer. May I ask where you stayed?
Thank you for this wonderful video. I'm going to Portland Maine for the first time in late September. My question: If everything closes early, what do you do with the evening time?
I hope you see my comment because I have a question. I'm cruising to Portland, ME next August and I'm wondering if walking off the ship up to an excursion desk and booking an excursion for that day is something that can be done. Looking forward to your feedback.
Just stay on the boat. Unless you enjoy seeing trash, graffiti, asylum seekers, and the homeless pitching up tents anywhere they can find a patch of dirt.
We went in June, but April should still be pretty mild weather wise. If you’re looking to go lobstering specifically, peak season is June through September.
I believe you have to catch the lobster from that specific company in order for them to cook it for you. And yes, there’s a significant discount for bringing your own.
According to the Victoria Mansion website themselves; “[Ruggles] During the Temperance era, his household deity was Bacchus, the god of wine. Arriving from New Orleans in the summer…his isolation could only have deepened when he retired to his summer home on the wealth he had accreted in the Confederate South.” I only quickly looked up the history because you seemed to shine an oddly specific identity to the man who was “self made” and did it “by his hard work”. Very dishonest and strange for a travel vlogger to be celebrating a slaver, NOT just the beautiful house he built.
Maine is such an underrated state to visit. Its a must see!
Agreed! It’s absolutely beautiful!
I totally agree with you, it is several times better than New York State 🗽..

@@Patriotsnationz Have u went to bar harbor and the big rock?
@@SheckleRFan715 ah yes I definitely remember going to bar harbor I think I've seen the big Rock but idk

Been going to Old Port, OOB, York, Wells, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit for over 50 years. Great memories!

It's a goal of mine to travel to one of the coastal towns in Maine. This place looks lovely, especially the fresh produce at the market
It’s absolutely beautiful in Portland! You should definitely add it to your list! Arcadia National Park is gorgeous as well!
Try and rent a car so you can visit Portland but so you can travel around to places like Kennebunkport. President Bush has his home in Kennebunkport.
@@tonyb5586 Yes! We did that as well! Kennebunkport has the cutest little shopping area with some great restaurants!
@@WeekendsWithStacy awesome! I'm glad you got to experience that too! I used to work at one of the restaurants down there
@@WeekendsWithStacyhello Stacy! How did you get to Acadia from Portland? I'll be backpacking alone and exploring options. Thanks.

There are some bars that are open, but that’s about it.
I live on the east end and can confirm everything does not close early
@@WeekendsWithStacy Thank you.
@@TomKudlach thank you
I live in Texas now, but I grew up in Portland Maine! Restaurants stay open late, but not stores, and shops, in the Old Port!
Enjoyed!
Thx

Portland is very nice. Some Maine prices are rippoffs Be careful and not a minority.
What’s the weather like in April ? Is it always lobster season ?
Enjoyed this video but the audio is so low, I thought something was wrong with my speaker.
Sorry about that! I’m still learning :)
What month did you go? I'm thinking of going in April but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.
We went in June, but April should still be pretty mild weather wise. If you’re looking to go lobstering specifically, peak season is June through September.
mud season wait till august or so
Did you have a rental car? Or was everything easy to get around by foot?
No dinner at DiMillo's?
There’s so many options in Portland! That’ll have to make it on the next weekend itinerary!
Loved Portland except for the homeless in town center.
Portland has been destroyed by democrat leadership. Much like everything else.
You can just bring your own lobster and they'll cook if for you? Does it cost the same as if you didn't bring a lobster?
I believe you have to catch the lobster from that specific company in order for them to cook it for you. And yes, there’s a significant discount for bringing your own.
Do u have some coffee shops in maine?
I don’t! I wish I did though!
I sail there in casco bay
That’s awesome! I bet that makes for an awesome trip!
😊
