I've been watching a ton of Portland, Maine vlogs in the past few days in order to gather some ideas for when I go there soon, and I just wanted to say that your video has been the best of all. Your energy is so great and you're so authentic! Loved the bloopers! Thank you for the video!
if you need any tips from a local, I live right in the west end. the city looks a little different because of covid, but I'm happy to help. it's a magical place.
Portland is one of my all-time favorite New England towns to visit. While popular, it really is under the radar, compared to some other destinations. I enjoyed your video. See you in our travels...
If you ever make your way back up here, you should check out some digs the locals congregate at! (not that I don't dine at duckfat, yum!) Ruski's is a great comfort food pub in the west end and very easy on the wallet. LongFellow Kitchen (called LFK by the locals) is also a great bar/restaurant. Oh No's for breakfast, and Uncharted Bubble Tea for an afternoon snack. The ice cream on Peaks Island is also a big win. So much food, so little time.
I want to live in Maine. My mom lives in California. How can I visit her? If I get a part time job and visit her a while, I won't be able to keep the job. How can I get a steady stream of cash? Or what can I do?
Thanks for sharing your information about Portland Maine. Just discovered your channel. I will subscribe and watch all of your other videos. It looks like you appreciate the places you visit and that you love life.
Kim, great to see you in my hometown. I love your Vail video and I love to watch it. Vail is my favorite destination when not in my beloved city of Portland ❤
I been through Portland many times going to fun town splashtown in saco because I live in boston area but i haven't really been inside the portland city much but it really looks like a quaint and peaceful version of boston
I’m SERIOUSLY considering Portland, ME for my family’s next vacation in July of 2020. In 2018, we had a blast in Cape Cod, so I hope Portland is on that level.
Such a beautiful place to live. So glad to live here. Folks if possible give Stroud water Distilleries a try. They are at Thompson point. Due to state requirements they have to do takeout only still. Great people and need support. Get a great lunch today.
We're originally from Boston and we head up to New Hampshire several times a year. We have a family cottage on the border of Maine. PORTLAND rocks. Oh and Kim you rock. Love how you tried saying Harbor like a true Bostonian New Englander Park ( Pawwk) and Habor ( Hawwbah) LOL. Seems like Derek ( think that's what you said his name is) puts together a wonderful tour. We LOVE Portland. I absolutely LOVE Labstah..
Was just looking for random maine vacations vlogs but WHAT ARE THE ODDS HOOK EM HORNS!!!!! are you also a Longhorn alum??? So crazy they have that flag there haha
Hello, there are several videos on Portland but your stands out by a long shot. Your energy & charisma, the editing, music & the list goes on. You present the highlights of the place very well, clean & concise. I don’t know how this doesn’t have millions of views. Either way, don’t stop putting out great content.
Captain Brian IS a hottie 😅. I noticed right away lol Awesome video. I am heading there in 2 weeks to see Billy Strings at Thompson’s Point. Woohoo! Will check out some of those restaurants you recommended! Thank you!
Made potatoes are in the holy donut's donuts because you don't need as much flour, which also helps making gluten free versions, and keeps the donut nice and moist on the inside
Lots of stuff to comment on…. overall a well put together video. My first comment is regarding Bon Appetit naming us the top restaurant city in the country in 2018. We got that well deserved title because we have lots more sensational restaurants that weren’t mentioned in this video. My second comment is the real cocktail bars to visit. Lincoln’s is fun but it’s not a place for foodies, as I am. Instead try “Blythe and Burrows” or the “Hunt and Alpine Club”. To drink with the locals try “Bar of Chocolate”, King’s Head, or for beer, Novare Res. Speaking of beer we were also crowned Craft beer capital of the world by a beer publication, with Tokyo Japan coming in second! The last thing I want to comment on is the pedestrians in the street. The city made a mistake being too lenient. I see people crossing the street as the lights turn and it’s dangerous. When walking our streets please be safe and respectful. Mostly I want to say that Portland is Disneyesque in the sense that it’s a happy place. We love Portland and we love you visiting. A heartfelt welcome!
I went with family May 2018. I live in Utah now, but I'm lucky to have a remote job that might allow us to relocate. Portland is high on my list of possible places. Thanks for such a well done video!
@@stigmaendshere37To be fair that’s the cost of a one bedroom in any thriving city these days. With Portland you get incredible natural scenery, beach access, a fantastic food and arts scene and it’s still relatively low crime compared to a similar sized city. We’re a much lived tourist destination. You can’t expect $1,000 rent living on the beautiful coast of Maine when they charge more than that for a one bedroom in Omaha, Nebraska.
Love the fact people are bundled up with winter gear and the tour guy is in a t-shirt. All he needed was shorts for a real Mainah look ayuh. As for pedestrians always have the right of way, that's why I never travel Commercial street in the Summer. Portland really need pedestrian bridges or crossing lights. It can take you an hour to drive a tenth of a mile. Everyone just walks out in the road. Someone is going to get killed. Tourist don't pay attention.
I live here and the restaurants are wrong the real local ones are j’s oyster, Dimillos and bills pizza.
