I was born and raised in Maine and have visited almost every summer for over 40 years. We moved from Fairfield to South Portland in 1944 so my mom could work in the shipyard building liberty ships. Moved to Portland in 1949 and lived there until I entered the military in 1954. My first winter away from home was in Biloxi MS and it made me determined to never spend another freezing winter in Maine or anywhere. When I was a boy I remember how old and dirty the Portland waterfront was. The best parts of the city were the Eastern and Western promanards where the upper classes lived. I am pleased to see how the urban renewal has made the Old Port a nice place to visit and has attracted tourists. The cruise ships seem to be a real boon to the tourist industry. I love to visit Maine and my many family members but at the end of September I point my van south and head home to Texas. Bye the bye, this was a very good video of Maine and the coastal towns and should draw many tourists.

I also moved to Maine fairly recently (Nov. 2020) It really is a beautiful state. My biggest complaint is that they have no idea how to make a decent pizza, up here, but the seafood is fantastic.

@@hunter6719 no joke, I grew up in Ma. But got tired of the overcast days and cold wrather most of the year. Don't plan to go in the water swimming. I'm in Fl. Now. It gets dark there real early in the winter, BUT it's a great place to visit in August and Early October.

Any tourist that travels to Maine I encourage you to come a little further and visit Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island and I promise you will have a great time!
Maine is such a breathtaking place. I wanted to visit this winter but may hold off to spring so I can take a ferry ride. Awesome beginning of the video. Very creative
The ferries run year round. There are 6 islands off the coast of Portland with year round residents who rely on the ferries to get to the mainland for work, shopping, doctor appointments, etc. In fact, many of the kids who live on the islands commute weekdays into Portland for school.
What a beautiful video and wonderfully narrated posting on these areas in Maine! I spent a week there a few years back and it brought back so many memories! Now I want to go back again... Great the way you listed all the things to see, places to go and prices. Thanks!
Seriously. I’ve watched so many of your videos and your method is just the best. Too many people put so much of them talking into a camera and not enough footage and information. You have this down to a science and have elevated my standards for travel videos!
Your videos bring back memories of when I used to travel all over the US by car in the 80s. I didn't get to see as much of Maine as you just showed. It would have been nice to have had more time back then.

I’m from Baltimore unfortunately. I went to Gatlinburg last year and had a great time and beautiful place. You need to check out Maine it is by far the most beautiful place. We have gone up there several times and rented houses surrounded by Acadia national park. Last week in September or first in October is the best time cause stuff is still open and rental prices are cheaper.
@@tomp6685 , I've watched Maine go through several boom/bust cycles. This bust cycle is being propped up by out of staters moving in. Hundreds of native owned businesses closed permanently this year. In a way, Maine is like Hawaii. Many natives are dependent on tourist dollars, but that doesn't mean they like you.
A very picturesque view along the gorgeous Maine coast (one of the 2 best in America, along with Oregon). You hit most of the great spots, though traveling down some of those winding peninsulas yields even more. I was a camp counselor for 5 summers in Maine, and have traveled extensively here. It is a special place in the summer & fall. The little villages, a great city like Portland (more restaurants-per-capita than any city in the US), the most spectacular lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth, and the rocky coast with a backdrop of mountains and fall color. There is also summer stock theatre, ferries to Nova Scotia, and the best lobster & seafood anywhere. Ogunquit (a bit further south) was one of the gorgeous towns you did not get to, but you sure did a GREAT job covering at least a dozen wonderful spots! Mt Katahdin and several inland lakes are super recreation opportunities, also. Taxes are high and jobs scarce, and winters seem to never end, so tough for many to reside in Maine, but just a fantastic vacation destination, which draws much of the eastern states in for several months. I see you do have a VT video (which I will view next) to go with this, and the 2 NH ones, so you have covered all of upper New England. I would suggest Massachusetts as well, since Cape Cod, Boston and the Berkshires offer a lot. Mountains, lakes forests, ocean, great towns, wonderful history & architecture make New England a very special place. Thanks for your great footage, narration and tips through this mecca, which I really love (for at least 5 months, anyway!) You mentioned another beautiful spot in CDA, Idaho, so I assume you have also made some great videos of the Pacific NW. I will look them up, as I lived 6 years in Seattle and Portland, and got to much of the region from western MT to the Pacific, and BC to CA.
I really appreciate these videos. I have lived or at least visited many of your destinations and you do a great job of showing these areas. I have also learned many things as well. Beautiful work! Regards from a fellow Floridian!
The roadside attractions around the Coastal areas are unique also. Especially in Lubec. I Hope you can finish your Coastal Maine video adventure soon in a truly wonderful and peaceful part of Maine...Northern Downeast from Jonesport to Eastport.

It was so wonderful to be able to see the places we have been from an aerial view, just astounding. I am going to share your video on our media as 90 percent of our brides are from out of state and they have coastal weddings. This will be very informative and inspirational for them. There were 2 place that you would have found amazing that you might have missed peaks island casco bay lines from Portland takes you over and Mt Battie tower at the park in Boothbay.

I am moving there next week and it will also be my first time in Maine. Best of luck with your move!
I hope your respective moves have worked out well! My wife and I have been here a month now, and love it :)
I also moved to Maine fairly recently (Nov. 2020) It really is a beautiful state. My biggest complaint is that they have no idea how to make a decent pizza, up here, but the seafood is fantastic.
@@lunachick7549 I hear you, Luna Chick, we’ve had some really bad pizza here. Have you tried Coletti’s in Biddeford? My husband’s from NY and has high pizza standards - that’s the only place he’s liked so far.
Excellent quality video. It’s been awhile since someone has made a truly good RUclips video of Maine like this one. Thanks for spending your hard earned money in our state. Come back soon.
Thankyou for the feed back, I appreciate that.
Very informative. I am going to Maine in early October. Thank you for all the great tips. Beautifully done, too! A pleasure to watch.
That is the best time to go, it is when this was filmed.
So much work behind these videos. Thank you for sharing your wonderful travel guides with us!
yes there is, thankyou for that.
ive been to York harbor Maine was hiking up on a steep hillside with the ocean backdrop loved it.
Love your videos, I just discovered them. They are awesome.
Thankyou for the nice words Jocelynne, I appreciate that.
Another amazing video! Thanks for masterfully combining aerial and street views of charming New England towns. After watching Vermont and Maine videos, I seriously consider moving up north. It is what I looked for in US for so many years, and it seems it was there in New England. Simply jaw-droppingly beautiful!
Yes it is jaw-droppingly beautiful, just be prepared the winters can be very cold
@@TampaAerialMedia I know, but at least it has all four seasons, unlike Texas
New England is so beautiful 😍 make sure you bring your long johns
@@hunter6719 no joke, I grew up in Ma. But got tired of the overcast days and cold wrather most of the year. Don't plan to go in the water swimming. I'm in Fl. Now. It gets dark there real early in the winter, BUT it's a great place to visit in August and Early October.
@Philip Livi yes I know I'm from Worcester. Been in Austin 14 years now, it Sucks!!
Thank you. Happy to know of the pet friendly places as well.We have a 16 1/2 year old dog and can’t bear to leave him at home
Yep the older they get the less I like to leave them alone.
I was born in Waterville Maine and learned how to do many of things through a excellent organization called Outward Bound While at Acadia National Park and it was some of the best times of my life!
@@faithboudreau5904 wow. Thank you for this information
I love the video and want to visit some of these places. Kudos for scaling the dangerous and sheer cliffs at the beginning of the video. Well done!
Thankou Marlon for the nice words.
Once again, another fantastic video. You do a very personal and professional job, thanks!
Thankyou for the kind words.
What a beautiful video and wonderfully narrated posting on these areas in Maine! I spent a week there a few years back and it brought back so many memories! Now I want to go back again... Great the way you listed all the things to see, places to go and prices. Thanks!
Thankyou for the feedback, I appreciate that.
Another excellent video. Excellent editing, excellent narration, comprehensive research. must have taken weeks to film all the footage.
Thankyou for that. It took about week to film and another week to edit.
Seriously. I’ve watched so many of your videos and your method is just the best. Too many people put so much of them talking into a camera and not enough footage and information. You have this down to a science and have elevated my standards for travel videos!
Your videos are awesome! Im glad I found your page, and look forwards to more future videos, as I look to travel again next year!
Thankyou for the nice words, yea we should be doing Naples & Ft Lauderdale in the coming months.
Thanks for the link....I adore the Ocean so anywhere that has water is wonderful..again super quality filming and narration...
Your videos bring back memories of when I used to travel all over the US by car in the 80s. I didn't get to see as much of Maine as you just showed.
It would have been nice to have had more time back then.
Randy, you are a real professional. excellent video with excellent editing, the information you give us is very important. you invest a lot, bravo.
Thankyou Abdel, you're so kind
Beautiful . Great work! Thank you and Blessings your way.
Thankyou fo rthe nice words
@TampaAerialMedia Wow, what an incredible set of videos you’ve created! Nobody provides the incredible & useful detailed descriptions like you do!! My better half & I have already planed 1 trip based upon the info you’ve provided. We’re now planning our trip along the coast of Maine. Thank you very much!! Keep going....please 👍😎
Thankyou for the nice words, that is always great to hear from people like yourself who uses our videos to plan for a trip. Thanks for letting us know.
GREAT video! Thank you! I visited Maine for the first time in October 2018; Bar Habor, Rumford, Cape Elizabeth, Camden, Rangeley, Portland, South Portland, and Acadia National Park. I enjoyed my time in Maine, and watching your video makes me want to visit again!
Thankyou, yea I think its worth a return trip.
I'm from WA. State, been there 3 times, would live there if it was NOT so cold in the winter. Great places, friendly people, always helpful
Lived in Portland for three years, love it here and feel right at home.
Maine is an amazing place!
It sure is.
😎 cool video!!! So nice to see and hear about Maine!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello from Washington State 😁 Thank you for video!!
You are so welcome!
I'm from Eastern Tennessee looking to visit Maine next year this has helped tremendously!
Glad to help, I think you'll love Maine
I’m from Baltimore unfortunately. I went to Gatlinburg last year and had a great time and beautiful place. You need to check out Maine it is by far the most beautiful place. We have gone up there several times and rented houses surrounded by Acadia national park. Last week in September or first in October is the best time cause stuff is still open and rental prices are cheaper.
Thomas, by next year, much of what you see in this video will be closed thanks to Gov. Mills mismanagement
@@rmadiller I hope not! I've been wanting to go up there for about 3 years now
@@tomp6685 , I've watched Maine go through several boom/bust cycles. This bust cycle is being propped up by out of staters moving in. Hundreds of native owned businesses closed permanently this year. In a way, Maine is like Hawaii. Many natives are dependent on tourist dollars, but that doesn't mean they like you.
Nice intro. Beautiful flights. Great video with interesting infomation. Hope to get up there in the fall.
thankyou Ray
Thank You, you do such an awesome job and the drone shots are awesome
Thankyou Mark for the feedback
this video is so beautiful, i watched it quite a few times, i even sent it to my friends. well done and thank you for everything.
Maine is a sweet escape! We are always out on the Penobscot Bay! Find us on The High Time chasing sunsets all season!
The roadside attractions around the Coastal areas are unique also. Especially in Lubec. I Hope you can finish your Coastal Maine video adventure soon in a truly wonderful and peaceful part of Maine...Northern Downeast from Jonesport to Eastport.
yep true, so much more in Maine we would love to do.
What an amazing video. You captured our coast line beautifully. I own a traveling wedding company in Maine and you even hit a few places that I've never been.
Thankyou for the nice words. Yea I wished I would have taken the Casco Bay Lines over some of the other islands.
Mount Battie’s in Camden
My eyes are wide and amazed with so much beauty! All done by our God Almighty!❤
Amen
Our first and last visit to Bar Harbor, Maine was September 2001.......something I'll never forget.
Great video! I’ll visit Maine, someday... I also loved the intro rock climbing scene.
Thankyou for the feedback, you'll love Maine
