- In this landscape photography video I create a tryptich on a local beach using my Fujifilm GFX 50r medium format camera. This type of intimate photography is incredibly enjoyable. It is a way to exercise your creativity, escape from the stress of daily life and practice your compositional skills.

If you're unsure, look for the 'tick' next to my name.
ahahah, 3:10 "what wold be a chanses?"
plagued by anxiety that keeps me from traveling, I truly appreciate the mundanity of simple photography over high contrast, golden hour, mountainscapes.
You have an eye for beauty in the simplicity of nature……… which is complex in itself ……those three together go hand in hand and should win an award!
As a disabled bloke, I am happy just to get out a take a few mundane images. Watching RUclips video's like yours in not only inspirational but allows me to experience the places you go. Keep it up :-)
I feel like being disabled (I'm assuming wheelchair) you would be good at street photography. You could just set up in a location and wait on people to get framed corectly and do it pretty stealthily!
@@jr-wv4qw only issue is you’re very vulnerable in a wheelchair to being mugged for your equipment. I’ve known people to have phones and various tech stolen simply because you’re disabled and can’t give chase. Despicable but it happens.
Felt good When I heard my country name "NEPAL" from one of the best landscape photographer🥰
Travel restrictions has messed up peoples travel plans up big time, so most people have had to adapt to whats local. Thank you for reminding us of what can be found with a little insight of what we can all do with little expence......
I think you might be right and things are shifting towards the more intimate style of photography. If it does it will be because of videos like this. I think it's a good thing myself. Epic landscapes are great, but most people can't go chasing off all over the country. And there is something rewarding about getting detail out of things up close.
What a very unique landscape! Its humbling and fascinating to know that water shaped those rocks. Natures artwork, always astounding!
I love the endless intimate textures in nature. Keep thinking outside the box. I so enjoy and look forward to your videos Thomas. Thank you. Dave
Those 3 Images are Fine Photography Photos. Those would be marvelous as big prints on the wall. ❤👌
The picture you did not like, is my favorite. A lot of beautifull natural colors, and a rest for the eyes. It is a picture I would be proud to hang on my wall.
Love love love love love these three photos!!!
That magnificent yellow rock!! Must have been there for ages, untouched
Great video, especially for those of us who don’t live near epic landscapes. Loved your trifecta, it can really be anything. Flora, snails, worms, fauna... the key is to see it.
Lovely as ever Thomas. Don't be too jealous of us over here in the states though. Every area I've been too here has its own unique challenges, my Appalachian mountains have a blanket of haze through spring and summer that never lifts, the entire eastern seaboard is a light show at night... and good lord.. the powerlines.... I have been in the middle of nowhere, civilization hours away with powerlines soaring overhead.
Agree ---- the epic landscape has had its day
Very beautiful, definitely they need to be posted on Instagram
3 posts will be beautifully combined
The third one is absolutely beautiful ❤️
I love this channel. Been here for years. Still my favorite. Thanks!
Love the triptych! 👍 The call in the middle of your Squarespace promo was actually kind of funny. That's real life right there, people calling when it's a bad time, some pictures just not working but some things coming together beautifully.
Thanks for putting these videos together for us!
Absolutely amazing start to finish. your approach, the video production, music and images you’ve captured. Just wow!
Absolute Belter Triptych Thoams really really good
Very beautiful absract shots . Very well captured.
Be careful what you ask for when you say the beautiful summer eves in the U.S. Yes, there is a window and those nights are glorious, but 90 degree F with mosquitos in the evening makes me look longingly to the UK and Scandinavia quite often. Loved the triptych! Inspired me to look at the small things right at my feet.
The triptych is terrific!
Fantastic images with those rocks and it's lines and textures...well done !!
Those rock formations are very cool - I would travel far to photograph them - we all undervalue whats in front of us, thats being human!
What a refreshing change! Lovely images.
All your films are very interesting Thomas, but this one felt more inspiring about the art of achievable photography and using observation and composition to achieve a superb result. Its not all about, rugged outdoor trekking, camper vans and survival techniques! Those videos are very entertaining to watch, passively….this one was much more motivational to encourage experimentation and a call to try something… to experiment…Many thanks for a very useful nudge Thomas!
Absolutely gorgeous tryptich!
Lovely individual images but even better as a Triptych, just spent a week walking on Orkney’s beaches doing exactly the same, coloured rocks, patterns in sand etc so much beauty when you look closer 👍
LOVE that second image
Stunning triptych!!
You nailed it, 'mate'.
It works.....love the three images, and the beach looks amazing! Cheers.
Three beautiful images that work very well together👍🏻
Those three images together are stunning, will definitely be keeping an eye out from now on when walking on the coast
The first in the series of your triptych images is definitely the best of the three and could stand alone. I especially like the balance between the lower left and upper right with the dividing S-curve. geat image.
That was fun. What a neat idea. That yellow potato rock works great in the first shot.
Wonderful tryptic! That first image was lovely….really nice 👌 👍
Love love love the three images!
Fantastic rock patterns images created, Thomas!
You are making my day, as usual. The ending was just hilarious. What better to play in the back while editing pictures from Seychelle beaches.
The triptych works perfectly. Love a good sunset on the beach. I live in Newport Beach in Southern California. Five minute drive to beautiful beaches.
Very nicely done. 2nd video Im seeing on Triptych photography and I must say, fantastic job! I love the idea of triptych photography. It ads more to your story ❤
3 pictures , now the orange stone make so much sence
Awesome shots this week
Thanks Tom. Tomorrow morning I’m going to my local rocky beach. Your triptych is beautiful mate. So simple yet so stunning. Well done 👍
love your triptych. beautiful.
Love the triptych!
Thanks for sharing again... love the location & results..yes the three pics are great for compositions... cheers 😀
Loving this vid. Very inspirational. As usual I particularly like the slant that it's not all about the photography but also about getting out there and just 'being'.
More of this please, very enjoyable.
Awesome. I learned a lot from this. I hope you're right that the epic photography is slipping in favor. I love more honest and intimate captures.
Gorgeous balance with the curves and the hints of green ... makes me want to get out with the camera x
Really enjoyed the images - I do love them much better than previous stuff - I'm just so fond of these colours...
Lovely triptych Thomas, really works.
I loved your throwaway image of the colors! There's no accounting for taste, I guess.
Great images and a good idea to intentionally set out for a set of three images. I really like the centre of the three, lovely contrast of colours and lines, gorgeous. Other two really good too.
I really enjoyed this weeks video. Thank you Thomas 👍
Keep them coming! Enjoy your process.
Thank you Thomas, great video and very inspiring. I look all your videos and love the way you describe the compositions.
love the stone photos
Oh I love the different lines in the three! Got me inspired...thanks!
The three worked well together. I personally was not enamored by the first shot but when place with the other two it looks good.
Really enjoyed this video, as usual. Great idea to look for intimate subjects. The triptych works very well and I love the patterns in the rocks. Great inspiration thanks.
Thanks for the video this week. I get value from seeing the scenery (we are still in lockdown here), and just to see you find beauty in the details, makes me excited to go out and look for the details in life
I think you might be right about the shift , I just think we have drowned inthe standard epic travel shots, while I love them too , I just think more individual unique landscape gives us more to think about in terms of our own creativity. That pebble at 7.05 lovely, love the triptych
I definitely dig the triptych!!
Yup! It works!! Gorgeous!😀💕
That works rather well Thomas.
Love the images and that added sound affect. LOL Very inspirational as always, great job and a big Thanks.
While presenting your first image you changed from ambient music to the ambient noises from seagulls.
Really made a great atmosphere I think.
Keep doing it like that if the opportunity comes up.
Tom good video. I do this all the time and always come home with something. I too live in flat, no water land. The great Midwest of the states. It takes work to make something from nothing but that is what artist do. Love shooting here in Ohio.
The 3 images work wonderfully well! Nice one Tom
Love all three!
Triptych worked out really well! 👍
Would definitely buy that triptych!
All 3 are awesome 😎
love this type of photography.
Superb shots and inspiring to look closer
Just beautiful!
Really liked all 3 images Thomas but not as a triptych. Great video again and so good to see you so relaxed.
Very convenient that yellow rock - and it's on a 3rd too
Wow loved those images.
Loved the shots (nice yellow stone!) and also find wandering around looking for the less 'epic' is therapeutic. Keep up the good work!
Love the fail shot :) We all do it, Made my day seeing you do it too. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tom I really liked the Triptych. You gave me some good ideas to shoot down at our beach. Our beach isn't as interesting as yours but at least the weather is usually nice in the summer. I always look forward to your videos and find myself saying to myself "he should be posting soon". Keep up the good work.
Brilliantly graphic art👏👏
Amazing images! Great thoughts! Thanks!
Stunning images
Beautiful three images
Bravo Tom.. Bravo
Very inspirational, thanks Thomas for the ideas.
Great video and fabulous images
Took a video taking some long exposure seascapes on my lunch break inspired by your videos! Just wanted to get out there and stop making excuses. (If anyone wants to watch it 😁)
Great images..Love that type of photography
Nailed it again Thomas!
Great to see you back! This tryptic is one of your best results for ages. No van talk; no talk of mountain meals; no general musing - just excellent photography and explanations. Thank you and welcome back.
Glad to see your book back in stock. Placed my order yesterday. Looking forward to the delivery. Great video as always.
