I know there are plenty of different settups out there, but on this particular one, what would you estimate the final cost was for parts/installation/tuning out the door, as well as the time frame it took from start to finish?
I charged this customer right under 2k for installation/tune. The parts were purchased on Black Friday for 6-7k I believe. Out the door, you should budget for around 10k+ depending on shop.
I’d be thoroughly surprised if that doesn’t blow up. it’s not common to see people throw a supercharger on a scat. Usually people do it to 5.0 coyote mustangs bc those engines can handle the power and there is a lot of room to grow on that platform. I’ve seen people throw super chargers on a scatpack and they simply can’t handle the power like other platforms can.
This Scat and countless others out there are supporting this power level bone stock. It’s a well made kit with great results. Tuning is key as with any engine setup.
I’ve done the upgrades on my 21 Daytona with a cold air intake system, 3.0 whipple supercharger, cam, forged pistons, heads, long tubes headers and cat back exhaust and let’s not forget a good tune. Making real good power 850 hp. Still got more room to add the twin turbo set up
Specifically what’s the most important part of the tune on a scat if you whipple it and stay stock? I’m thinking improper tuning resulting in a lean condition is 99% of 392 engine failures out there especially if staying around 5-6 lbs boost. Just curious of other thoughts ?
I’m debating this whipple in my 392 Durango or trading up to a hellcat Durango…I love my 392 and would rather just build it. Seeing it’s possible with this platform is super awesome. Thank you friend! I’m
So with stronger pistons and a forged bottom end what would you guesstimate the possible power output to be on a stock block?? At say maybe 10-12 pounds of boost?
hellcat makes ~620 wheel with lower compression and 11 psi stock. So you'll be in that ballpark. If you're still running stock compression, you're going to have a hard time getting there on pump gas, though.
