Took advantage of having the shop closed for the holidays and got the 240sx back on the hubs. This KA was built over 10 years ago when @amsperformance was supporting the KA community. how did you get the locking pin out of the shifter joint to pull the rod out?
I used a skinny punch and tapped it through.

Stock
Does a supercharger increase speed also ? Like I know a scat tops out at 180 but will I go faster ?
More top speed will be achieved but more so because the top speed limiter was removed from the tune. It will get to the previous speed faster though.
So with stronger pistons and a forged bottom end what would you guesstimate the possible power output to be on a stock block?? At say maybe 10-12 pounds of boost?
hellcat makes ~620 wheel with lower compression and 11 psi stock. So you'll be in that ballpark. If you're still running stock compression, you're going to have a hard time getting there on pump gas, though.
Really want this done asap lord.

don’t think 400 is a lot for stock block ?
No, I took that into consideration and ramped it pretty late. It made that power at the peak of the powerband if I remember correctly.

I have heard from other 392 owners these engines will not stay together with any more then 7psi and in order to get any more the 700+ whp that is 12-14psi you stated it’s stock internals very interested to watch the reliability of this 392
Good concern and valid question. This Dyno is a Hub Dyno so it reads roughly 12% vs the traditional 15% or so a traditional Roller Dyno uses. 700whp on a 392 is a smooth 8psi give or take some points.

Always take it to a shop that will drop the motor and take it to a dust free and clean room while the motor is taken apart. MMX is the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!! Get what ya pay for guys.

Is this car still running on stock bottom end? Im thinking about doing the Whipple first then save up for the forged bottom end later, i only drive my car a few months during the summer there in Alaska.
As far as I know, yes it’s still running. Go for it! Don’t hesitate and listen to the forum readers. It’s been done time and time again.

As far as I know it’s still alive. I fully confident it’s doing just fine. Maybe I’ll reach out to the customer one day and have him come back for a courtesy Dyno session. Check the power levels and health!

I have a question what is that whistling noise when it revs is that just a supercharger or is it a type of tune like how much pounds of boost is it running also what typeof exhaust setup is on there because it sounds pretty cool
That whistle is the supercharger. I forgot the muffler setup on this car honestly lol. I think it was just straight pipes, no mufflers but don’t quote me. I believe this setup was 6-8psi safe and healthy.

Yes it does.
What head studs installed ?
Some 11mm L19’s.
Have you timeserted a mains thread on an sr20? I've got an old sr20ve block with det girdle and ARP mains studs. Had been line honed, one of the mains threads is stripped.
I personally have not but the TimeSert is the way to go. The head studs require more tq than the mains so I’m confident it’ll work just as well on the mains.

@@KristoffJohnson There was another RUclipsr saying the piston has to be changed to allow more air pressure to not blow the motor out. You haven’t had any problems with the supercharger on a stock motor?
