Hi there Terry! Greatings from Argentina. After watching this excellent tutorial, my question is: I have an old NikonF3 with 2 lenses. Do they fit on this csmera with this adapter? Thanks a lot
As I don't have those lenses to check then you are best looking the compatibility list Nikon provide www.nikonimgsupport.com/na/NSG_article?articleNo=000042681&configured=1&lang=en_SG as I don't want to tell you something which doesn't work. Sorry if that is not so helpful.
I have the z-fc and FTZ. Tried out an old 55-300 af-s, the Auto Focus works as normal but no VR. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or if I have a broken lens. Does FTZ support VR on the dx cameras?
Hey Ian, If the lens has VR and it's switched on (via the lens switch) then the FTZ adapter should use it but only in 2 axis on the Zfc (according to a Nikon document www.nikonimgsupport.com/eu/BV_article?articleNo=000043134&configured=1&lang=en_GB&setRedirect=true). Hope that helps 👍🏻
good vid. thanks!
Glad you liked it 😊
thanks!
Very informative mate. Wish you could do a bunch with Sigma lenses as well, and Yongnuo YN35mm f2N F mount
I'll have to borrow.soms and do a shoot 👍
Since you’ve tried the 105 macro AF-S with the adapter, would you say it worth buying now to use with the adapter on a Z body (since you can get it around 500 now)? Or better going with the new S Line?
I bought the 50mm MC Z lens for just less than 600 and it's amazing but if you're specifically looking at the 105 (which I never liked compared to my 60mm) then I would get the F mount and use the adapter as I'm using it for macro and not film etc and it does the job.
@@TerryLivesey Thank you!
Can Nikon d750 camera work with new z series lenses ftz adapter because all videos in social media can use z series camera with f mount lens ftz adapter. But my question is f mount cameras with z series lenses Can it be used through any other adapter?
I am not aware of any adapter which will allow z mount lenses to be used on f mount camera.
Has anyone noticed that these adapters extends the focal length of the lens? I hv the viltrox .
Using the Z30 and D500 ,I tested 3 lenses, nikon 85mm, sigma 30mm & tokina 11-16.. all shots with the D500 frm the 3 lenses are noticeably wider than w/ the Z30 + adapter. Im jst surprised noone has mentioned this effect in any video. mayb its the same w/ the FTZ .
I've not noticed it but I've not done a direct comparison, I'll have a check and see what the results are. 👍
I’ve just purchased the Z5 and FTZ 2 adapter. I attached a Nikko 50mm . My camera screen says Cannot shoot because an unsupported lens is attached. Same thing happened with a 85mm lense
If it’s the D type lens with screwdriver focus then it will not work. I had the same problem with mine in the video as well, although I could use it manually. Did you check them against the compatibility chart? The chart link is in the video description if you need to check. Also have you updated the firmware of the FTZ adapter?
D lenses won't autofocus but the electronic connections still work i.e the command dials still operate the aperture as well as the shutter control. The lens with the camera will still send exif data to the image. I have the same 50mm 1.8 D lenses & it works well as a manual focus lens on my Z50. Don't forget to turn the aperture ring to the minimum aperture (& lock it) for the electronic functions to work.
I hace 24,35,50,58 60 85 1002.8 70/200 2.8. All except 60 and those indicated are 1.4. There work better on Z6 2 & Z72 +ftz optically then F mount cameras. Some times focus is a bit balky but not ofter.
Yeah they do don't they 💪
U are hero for all poor guys have no money to test
Anyway. Should i get z50 or zfc since zfc better af + min ev. I mean does -2 in z50 enough. Or how percent it better in af. 10 or 20%
If you wanted a camera which is more robust and better designed to fit in the hand then get the Z50, That being said I would buy the Zfc again (and again) because of the style, side flip screen and AF as I don't use this camera in my business and don't need the robustness. Hope that helps.
@@TerryLiveseywould you prefer to use this Nikon ZF-C camera with Nikon DX 17-55mm F/2.8g lens and 85mm 1.4D lens in professional wedding photography and bridal photoshoots etc.? Actually i have the same lenses but thinking to buy ZF-C. What’s your honest review about this camera if someone wants to buy this camera for professional usage..??
Honestly for professional use especially for weddings you would be mad not to get a dual card camera if you can afford it and the z5 is affordable. I will use it for non critical work but if my livlyhood depended on it 🥺. I appreciate the z5 doesn't do eye tracking the same but I've used a lesser system as a pro for years.
She's beautiful :)
