Summer is a metaphor for our teenage years. Autumn is the metaphor for adulthood. (Your baby is Spring. Sadly I’m moving into the Winter of my life.)
Me too! 58 years old and single for 5 years since my 2nd marriage blew up! Sometimes, the winter looks pretty bleak!
What a ride it was 🤔...✌️🍻🤠❤️
Never fear. 58 is just looking a bit more closely at winter...not there yet! God bless you.@@leroysiedenburg2139
Yup, that's the way of things. As it should be. Circle of life and all that jazz. I'm a U. S. Government certified Old Far..., ehr, Dude; beyond having completed three score ten solar orbits. I'm in no great hurry to check out, but eventually we need to clear the deck for the likes of Britt and her little guy. In the immortal words of the late, great JImmy Buffet:
🎶So won't you dream on compadres, seems nothin' escapes you
Nothin', no reason, no rhyme
That's 'cause every here is just more than contented
To be livin' and dyin' in three-quarter time 🎶
With grace and music. Dylan Thomas got it wrong. -- ✌👤
No need to get so deep
I've watched several reactions to this great song and nobody has acknowledged the line, "points all her own sitting way up high...way up firm and high". Iconic line!
I agree! Somehow he was
allowed to keep that line in...
ruclips.net/video/16yzHgf3-PY/видео.html Harribest is the man!!
I dont think I have seen anyone catch that line ever. And I have watched a bunchg of reactions to this song. It is an iconic line.
I was in high school when this song came out. Listened and sang along thousands of times. I never caught it until I read it in RUclips comments.
I think most people don't catch that line or just plain don't know what he's talking about.
Bob "See-ger" is one of the deepest rabbit holes out there. Just a million good songs, and the comments will give you plenty to choose from. And Britt, THANK YOU for doing the studio version. My humble advice is: "react to the studio version, unless you are specifically directed to the live version." Again, my personal preference.
Also preferably without the video. She gets too caught up in it and disregards what is going on in the song.
My opinion is that the studio version is the clearest vision of the artist's intent. The live performances build off of that, if you want to do them after. Sometimes they showcase the talent of the musicians that doesn't come through the studio polish, and there's an undeniable energy (most of the time.) Usually they are horribly mixed, and often lackluster because the band is exhausted from touring. Sometimes the studio version is the producer's vision, and not the artist's. It all kind of depends, but for me, the studio is the safer bet.
@@briansmith303 Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, with the "Swampers".
Except for Turn the Page. Live, from 72.
@@steverobertson4338 Turn the Page Live Bullett > the studio version. I saw every one of Bob's tours - I cannot recall ever hearing a bad note, yes, he couldn't hit the high notes. He was still kicking ass at 74 in 2019
Bob Seger is a Legend from Detroit. The Silver Bullet Band is his band you hear playing...
Nope. See previous comments.
Actually Ann Arbor 😃
From my home state of Michigan, I am blessed to have grown up on his music.
@@clare1061I got to see him play live so many times. Also, his earlier band Bob Seger System. We had a ton of great Michigan bands at that time.
@@lynflorentine9023 the Rockets “Turn Up The Radio” was one of my favorites also. Great bands we had.
This came out in 1976 one of the best tracks ever written❤
66yr young here and grew up on this music. If u want to listen to more Bob Stager, listen to " Turn the Page" u won't regret it
I have very fond memories from late 1976, of being 17, sitting in my 1973 Z-28 Camero, in the mall parking lot, late one winter night, beautiful girl sitting in my lap, the windows all fogged up, and Bob Seager and Night Moves blaring through the Tenna Mind Blower speakers. Ahhhhh….the 70s!!! And now, all of the sudden, I’m 65.
I have great memories to this song in summer of 1976 too, in my 1969 Olds 442 with a Pioneer 8 track player, Kraco Amp going to my Jenson 6×9's. If I was rocking with Seger, it was KC, Foreigner, Eagles, or a hundred other groups. Music will never be as good as the 70's music was.
Same memories for 77 and 78, ahh those were the days!
1969 GMC Van- Me and my girl Drove to Greensboro NC in 1977 to see the Night Moves tour! paid $7.00 each for the tickets to see this Great singer. We hung out in the parking lot after. Seems like last weekend. 19 then 66 now, still love this song
Steve - I feel your pain - but oh what a ride!
@@michaell31at same show, drove from Durham in 57 Chevy, great time😎
Bob Seger is in the songwriters hall of fame and the rock and roll hall of fame… probably because the only thing he could never do was write a bad song 🎧
Oh he has a few (It may be a minority opinion but I can not stand We've Got Tonight. Just the fact that Kenny Rogers at his schlockyist covered it I feel makes my point.) but he hits a lot more often than he misses.
@@88wildcat Ironically, Bob has said many times at his concerts that this was his mom's favorite song of his.
I will be a Bob Seger fan till I die. My daughter recognized his voice by the time she was 2. She would come running yelling his name. Her Strut, Old time Rock and Roll, Fire Down Below and Main street are just some of his greats❤
Don't forget.....Katmandu......it rocks.
Those of us born in the early 60's have enjoyed the best music ever. Seger is one of the best!
VEVO cuts off the very important final words of this song: "I remember, I remember." VEVO gives us a fade out instead...
Exactly. 👈 The cardinal rule is: You do not interrupt Bob Seger 🙄 and you do not cut him off 🤨 at the end!! Live and learn people.. and remember. 💗 💗 haha.
I absolutely hate this video for a first time reaction to this great song. It completely takes every reactor I've ever seen out of the song and the lyrics. Fun video for a second watch but awful for a first.
My favorite Bob Seger is 70s Bob Seger
OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL Another 70s GIGANTIC HIT
That wasn't VEVO. That was Capital Records. This is the version from his Greatest Hits album which is edited differently at the end from the original version. That is what they made the video for. Hardly anyone was making promotional videos in 1976 and certainly no one who had never had a top ten hit on the pop charts at the time was making them.
I'll request it again, and every time you do Bob Seger. "Weve Got Tonight." You will love it!
I like this way better than "Night Moves."
Great song, I prefer the Kenny Rogers/Sheena Easton version tho.
@@masaniazura2131Hollywood Nights, Mainstreet, and Turn the Page 👍

Just a few more great songs by Seger.
You forgot Main street
She did react to "Turn the page" already.
The deeper meaning is the summer being your youth and "with autumn closing in" meaning youre now older and looking back. Im 67 and the music was great back then. Love your show❤
Bob Seger’s music is so awesome. Huge catalog of greats!!
And not a dud in the book.😊
It really is!
@brittreacts The guy.
In the video is matt leblanc from friends. And I believe the girl that looked older is Daphne.Zuniga from melrose place
Bob Seger is my very favorite!!! And as said above it's a deep deep rabbit hole! He's in my opinion one of the best Rock poets ever! And Mercy, that growly voice of his! Yum!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Especially on vinyl.
Stop watching the video and just listen to the lyrics. You completely missed the genius of this song. It's starts in fondly recounting his youth (summer), then at the break, he awakes to the sound of thunder and finds himself realizing he's in the autumn of his life and all the excitement of his youthful escapades are but memories. The meaning of "night moves" changes, as he awakes from a dream to find himself "humming a song from 1962 - ain't it funny how the night moves..."
I grew up hearing this song, probably a few hundred times, never paying attention much to the lyrics or what is was about. Then a couple of years ago, on one of these reaction videos, I really listened for the first time, now at 54. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I suppose someone your age can't quite know what it's like to look back on your life with that bittersweet feeling of knowing there more behind you than in front. And the thing is, most of Seger's songs are like this. He has this uncanny ability to capture nostalgia in song. Somehow, in his twenties and thirties he was able to tap into some really deep, profound ideas about life. Try "Like a Rock" or "Against the Wind' next.
you and me both, friend. same age. just a couple years ago i heard this with new ears and it sent a chill up the spine.
I've noticed that myself at age 52
So well said.
Some of my favorite lyrics: “Trying' to make some front page drive-in news, practicing our night moves in the summertime”. And yes, that’s Joey from Friends 👍🏻
and Daphne Zuniga from Melrose Place
Bob Seger is one of the absolute best artists to have ever lived! His voice has been one of my favorites since I was just a kid. To feel like a teenager again....
The fleeting moment in time...right before you had to start adulting, the dawn of your adolescence; only you didn't know was about to end, but now in your much older years as you look back, it's that clear nostalgia along with Seger's voice that just reaches in and grabs you
I always hate when this video gets used for reaction videos. The reason is that this is such a fantastic song and you don't get to hear the whole song here. The ending part of this song is incredible, and you don't get to hear that here. Check out the full song.
i just posted the same thing.
Reactors (IMO) should check the length of song on a video and compare to the song original master and that way can avoid radio-edits. Happens way too often - especially this song; and it's his best song for sure and the best parts are cut out at the end.
Excellent comment.
It is a lot longer on the L.P. they shortened it for the video.
Yeah, that kind of drives me crazy.
A lot of reactors interrupt too much......or at the wrong times.
She was a black haired beauty with points of her own sitting way up high....way up firm and high....
in my case she was blond. but def hits home.
Bob never had a bad song... soulful
The guy is from Friends. Matt LeBlanc played Joey. The Girl was Daphne Zuniga. She was in Melrose Place and The Sure Thing and Spaceballs.
Daphne was a crush of mine back in the day.
The Sure Thing was a great movie
Yep, this song is about getting laid and learning all the night moves. The song then switches to him as an older man thinking back to that time wistfully, cos the fact he's aging smacked him in the face when the lightning struck. Back then it was the height of summer. Like you said, he was young and free. Now the autumn of his life is closing in. "Ain't it funny how the night moves."
"Everyone's feet are in the air, everywhere!" Britt, i nearly spit my food out! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yay! So happy to see you listen to more Bob Seger! He is truly an American treasure! This is one of my favorites along with "Hollywood Nights" and "Against the Wind" - also we can hear him ... little one has a healthy set of lungs. I am not unhappy about hearing him, congrats and I hope you're getting enough sleep, lol.
This is the first Bob Seger song I ever heard. It was 1976 and I lived in a college dorm. I've been listening ever since.
Growing up in Detroit & Ann Arbor in the late 60's, 70's we'd see Bob at local clubs & around the U of M campus clubs. Ive seen him & the Silver Bullet Band at Cobo hall more times than I can count. Bob is an American Classic & Icon.
My fav Bob Seger song of all time....My mind is screaming at you to stop talking!! Lmao ❤ I have everything he has ever done....my husband and I back 40 years ago lived at the drive-in....god I miss those days 😢
Me tooooo. So much yak
Down On Main Street was always one of my favorites. Such a bittersweet song that reminded me of an old unrequited flame.
I'm so old that I worked at the drive in that is in this video when I was 16.......LOL
One of the greatest coming of age songs by one of the greatest American singer songwriters. When the song slows down near the end, I think he is talking about aging, particularly "with Autumn closing in." Thanks for this video.
Recorded in Muscle Shoals Alabama, where so many great artists and songs were recorded. They came for the sound and atmosphere!
I live in Canada and l was thinking about going there on our way to a condo l own in Florida but l’m worried it might be a parking lot now. 😂
This version of Night moves wasn't recorded by Mussel Shoals band! It was BOB SEGERS OWN Silver Bullet Band!
I remember seeing Bob Seeger playing at bars in the Detroit Area. He is a Detroit Treasure. You are still the best reactor … always have fun watching you.
As many times as I've heard this it still gives me chill bumps.
Just a great voice. So many great songs in his catalog.
SEGER! He needs to be in the PDC! He doesn't have a bad song. Great reaction.
Bob is a legand. "Hollywood Nights" is my favorite song. ❤❤❤
Congrats Britt.......you are now moving into the iconic territory of a deeper understanding of Bob Seger and his music. The more you listen to him......the more impressed you will become.
Faded too early. There's a longer version. So much soul and charisma in his voice. Emotion. Great storyteller. Great lyricist. Great musician and songwriter.
Bob has a lot of soul to offer. " Hollywood Nights, and my fave, "Turn the Page". Go girl
Loved the reaction. Y'all come back now.
Oh MY Goodness Britt,, check out some more of Bob Seger......
"Down on MainStreet"
"Like a Rock"
"We've Got Tonight"
& Still The Same! Those 4 are my favorites of his👍✌️
This song was a huge hit on the radio and launched Bob Seger's career to the top of the rock & roll stars.
I am from Detroit and he is a real Icon here for sure. He also made a song for Eddie Murphy's movie "Beverly Hills Cop" called " Shake Down". The list of his songs is endless
Bob Seger has so many good songs, ranging from Ballard's to good old Rock and Roll.My favorite artist of all time .I was lucky to see him on his farewell tour!
"Turn the Page" !!! BEST Seger song, IMHO 😉👍
More 70s Gold
Native Detroiter here and Bobs our guy .Hes a great musician and person by all accounts.Nothing ever negative about him in 50 years.
For future video do "Roll Me Away".
Also for a more understated gem try "Till it Shines" from Hollywood Nights Album.
Bob Seger is one of the best ever. Huge catalog of great music. And it's pronounced "See gur".
Bob seger brings you back to your youth.
This song took form by accident, He and the band were in a recording session and they pretty much called it a night and they were hanging around the studio, Bob was at the piano playing with some lyrics and it turned into a jam session and the producer just hit the record switch for Kicks Shits & Giggles and true to form came "Night Moves"
Definitely a rabbit hole and as a guy that grew up listening to him, his music resonates even more today! "Like a Rock."
Grew up in Windsor and spent a lot of time in Detroit. Bob Seger at Cobo Hall, Doobie Brothers at Pine Knob, Huey Lewis at Harpos …..a different concert every weekend…ah the memories.
“Shame on the moon” “come to poppa” ❤😎
He always has great stories to tell😊
Bob Seger is phenomenal. More, please.
Autumn closing in , is about getting older. As the Autumn of your life. Also listen to the beginning again and listen for his points and her points. lol Great reaction. Can't beat Bob SEE-ger
Yea, her points ... " ... sitting way up high
Way up firm and high ..." I never realized what that was describing when I was a kid, lol
One of my all time favorite songs. It regularly gets stuck in my head for days, especially the slow-down transition towards the end. Another great Bob Seger song is "We've Got Tonight"
One of the best!!! His music doesn’t age at all! ♥️
I do adore this song. He says 'i used no shields' ... rubbers. This song as with so much of Bob's writing, is down and dirty, gritty and real..
Bob is 1 of a kind!
the song was actually released in 1976. a good oldie
Bob is the soundtrack of my youth and young adult years so many memories each song takes me back to what I was doing who I was dating and just being a teenager and then into young adulthood
For we that were teenagers in the 70's this is our Anthem. Especially for us Michiganders.
I went to one of Bob's very last concerts with my late wife and its a memory ill never forget!
Bob Seager o wow ...Great voice Britt thanks again
What I love about Bob's songs, is the stories he tells are so vivid, my mind takes me to specific times and places. The themes are common to everyone- and as you get older, and live more, they take on even more meaning. Half the time, it's like he reached into MY memory banks and is singing about MY life!!
If you haven't yet, you need to check out "The Fire Inside" honestly, a truer assessment I've never heard... Bob GETS it.
Plus, that voice. Plus that music! They were phenominal live!
"In the Summertime" means just that . Bob grew up in Michigan and after every winter ends, "Summertime" is amazing! He is literally singing about Michigan's weather.
This is my favorite Bob Seger song and it has a much different meaning now than it did 40 years ago
Nice to see people discovering Bob Segar and a lot of the bands and musicians that I and a lot of other people grew up listening to
Thanks Britt. I, and others, asked for this and we got ur. Again Britt, great job!
I just found your channel. I've watched several of your videos. I'm now a fan. Keep up the good work.
One of the most unmistakeable voices of all time. Bob could never be confused with another singer.
Song came out originally in 1976. This video was from the early 90s. Matt LeBlanc (Friends) was the actor and Daphne Zuniga (Melrose Place) was the actress.
She played in Spaceballs as well.
My boy Bob! Our Michigan troubadour! Great man, nice guy too!
Straight up love Bob Seger!! Great Content!
I've seen him in concert three times. The first time was in 1966 at a national guard armory in Ohio, when he was a "local band" from Detroit.
45 years seems so short to me now that I'm 73 and this song never gets old to me.
Yesyesyesyesyes!!! One of his very best. Oh I remember this so well….❤❤❤young loves. 😊
This song brings back memories for me. In particular when this came out, I was 18 and living in Nebraska and at the time the drinking age was 19, so buddy and I hooked up with a couple of chicks and drove down to Kansas (In a Chevy van) where the drinking age was 18. On the way there we were playing this album. This song so worked perfectly.😎😈
Bob Seeger can sing anything. He has so many songs that are his alone, but then he can turn in and sing something like The Little Drummer Boy. I tell you true, his rendition of the Little Drummer Boy will give you goose bumps. Bob has a timeless voice and his music will live on long after we are all gone.
I have two of his albums from when they first came out. He's on my spotify playlist and no matter how many times a song of his comes up, I just can NEVER fast-forward to the next one.
Seger has the perfect Rock & Roll voice!
I love your reactions. I don't know what you expect when you hear 60s songs.
Bob Seger has so many great story songs
Bob Segar was this age when we saw him. Simple times at the drive-in or nighttime at the beach.
Song is from 1976. Video was made in the 1990s. One of the greatest songs ever. Pulls at those emotional heart strings every time.
Bob has a way of talking about risqué things in ways so soulful they don’t sound dirty. You MUST check out:
We’ve Got Tonight (the most romantic song ever written… about a one night stand 😂)
Mainstreet (about his love for a stripper)
Like a Rock (you’ll recognize from old Chevy commercials)
Against the Wind (persevering through life’s struggles)
Old Time Rock and Roll (about old time rock and roll 😂)
Enjoy!
I have a friend that graduated from the same highschool that Bob Seger went to. When I got out of the Navy I moved to Ann Arbor. So I was driving around past maybe the same corn fields he wrote about.
I was in middle school when this song was popular. Sure brings back memories!
i was a teen when this came out with my night moves ---- now my kids have grown and moved out and it is back to night moves
Welcome to another rabbit hole! There are a lot of songs with this artist.
I viewed this video a couple of times just to watch your expressions. You were as entertaining as Bob! So... imagine being a teenager when this song was released as I was! Bob is a 2004 inductee to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Lots of good tunes. another to check out is "Turn the Page."
He is a legend you gotta open up your world of music.
I frikkin love u Britt ur my favorite
with autumn closing in equates to death. he is reminded of his teenage years as he is now much older when the song slows down
One of the very best .. and sauciest songs ever!
How the song made its transition from summer to autumn, you're spring has called out to remind you that winter is still far off. Symbolism, yeah? I'm sorry for getting so deep, but that hit me hard when i heard your boy calling out. Great song, as classic in my life. As always, love the video and keep it up. God bless and the best to you and your family.
Great catalog to choose from! "Roll me Away" "Like a Rock". Plenty more! Need more Bob!
More to come!
A deep rabbit hole when you react to Bob...He never made a bad song....His Silver Bullet Band has always been outstanding.
This song is about the stages of life. In the summertime, you are a teenager, going into your 20's. In the fall, you are older, in your 40's to 50's. After that you are entering the winter, the final season of your life. You hear the thunder, and you wonder. You just don't have time to lose. You are wondering how much time you have left.
Good on you for recognizing a very young Matt LeBlanc. The girl is Daphne Zuniga who also went on to have a successful movie career. Love Bob Seeger! He’s such a great singer/ storyteller! More please!
