Back around 1986 or 7, I asked a girl at work who I was hoping to date, out to a concert. She said YES before I even told her who we were going to see. When we got to the Spectrum, and she saw the stage for the first time, she started jumping up and down and going a little crazy. It was then I learned she had never been to a concert before. Not only that but she didn't even know who Bob Seger was. Well, That changed her forever. She became a huge fan that night, and her fav song became Turn The Page, because everyone got out their pocket lighters, and the whole stadium became a Christmas tree. Very Moving! Now, after that, she made me create playlists on cassette tapes. We also got married a couple years later, and we are still together. Bob Seger is still a fav of ours.
For the first 7 1/2 minutes the song is Bob singing about his young years, first love and the clandestine meetings in the corn fields and the woods and the back seat of his car....where he first felt "the thunder". Then at 7:24 the song changes to current day where he wakes in the middle of the night and heard thunder. Then begins to reminisce about those years long ago as he mentions being in the autumn of life. Bob is a master storyteller who can paint a picture we can all see in our minds eye.
yeah a lot of people miss the change in time. and how sweet is is reflecting back on those days of awkward fumbling in the dark, just trying to relieve that young lust. no true love really just hormones on fire. we've all been there right? I know I was living this song.
@@Hobodeluxe960 You interpreted exactly this the way do. I had my fair share of fumbling around. Lots of desire, we just didn't know what we were supposed to do with it. Whenever we could find a place, we would work on it. Just trying to figure out sex, and I was aware that the boy I was just as lost as I was. Always trying to find some private place. We knew lust, we just weren't sure how to handle it. Thankfully, I had already been educated more about birth control than actual intercourse, so we educated each other with no heavy consequences. 👍 Not all kids are so lucky.
Bob Seger is a wonderful storyteller who has won multiple awards. In the R&R Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has written songs for other performers. A master songwriter from Michigan who was raised on rock and soul. His blend of both has given us a true gift in music. ❤❤
Thanks for reviewing Bob Seger. It is true…..Bob doesn’t have a bad record. He is a masterful songwriter, musician, singer and performer. He was born in Detroit and raised in Ann Arbor. His concerts were legendary. He is revered in Michigan, where he is now retired. But his fans still hold out hope for one more concert. 👏👏🥰
As a seasoned man who grew up listening to Bob Seger, the line "With Autumn closing in" humbles me in that he enjoyed the summertime of his life, carefree, recklessly and adventurous. Now as he says "Isn't funny how the night moves when you don't as much to loose" I've lived my life and am reaching my Autumn... it's closing in. GREAT SONG!!!
Blessed to have seen him 8 times over the years! Unbelievable Live Performer! he was 75 the last time I saw him and he blew the roof off that venue. Alto Reed the greatest Saxophone ever player
"She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes" Could be written for Sam. "Strange how the night moves, With autumn closing in" hits me harder every year.
Yeah, I was a teenager in the '60's, and I know what "front page, drive-in news" is. Weekends lots of kids had a date to the drive-in, if there was a halfway interesting movie showing, and the "news" at school the next week was all about what happened at the drive-in. The nostalgic vibes hit kinda hard at the end of the song, and I'm certain there are lots of folks in my age bracket that feel just like Bob does. "With autumn closin' in" hits deep for me, too. If you look at life as a year, Bob's a little further along than I am, but winter is getting closer, and all those memories take on more meaning. Thanks once more for a great reaction to a great song!
Truer words are very rarely spoken. The Autumn of my life having recently started, this song really makes even more sense to me now. Just a truly great song about life that does indeed have more and more of an impact the older you get.
It’s not a love song. It’s nostalgia only. He was 31 yo (born 1945) and not married at the time. Everyone loves his voice. It’s very recognizable. Love him❤️
Growing up in the era of censorship when I first heard this song I had to record it from the radio and listen to it. Then, I was like "Did he say points of her own sittin way up high and then, way up firm and high." Just rocked the censorship world. Also, with the F C G chords it's just so melodic and definitely takes me back to my teenage years.
Teens feeling their oats. It did not matter where they laid. It was the wonder and freedom of the summertime. Teens will always remember the freedoms they shared, the friends they made. And who they laid with. Then comes the mundane and interrupting school life of autumn. And thinking summer can't come around any faster. Awesome!
It's not a teenage love song. It's a song about a man, looking at his life, where more of it is behind him, than ahead of him. I can tell ya this song hits me a lot different now that I'm 65, than what it did when it was first released.
My favorite Bob Seger song is whichever one I am listening to at the moment. Watch your speedometer on long drives with Bob. A speeding ticket is a real possibility.
Bob is such a straight-up LEGEND. He sang directly to the blue collar American experience. You really should check out "Main Street". The iconic guitar riff sounds so desperately lonely, and top-filled with longing. It's amazing. No other piece of music has ever gotten to my feelings, that way.
Since the 70`s I`ve always said that Bob has never made a bad song...This is the song that started me on my Bob Seger journey...I have all of his songs and I still can`t get enough of this awesome legend and his great band....Thanks for the reaction...You both are wonderful.
"Main Street", "Roll Me Away", if your in a partyin mood "Ramblin Gamblin Man" and a mellow, reminiscent mood "Against The Wind". there are so many other great ones by him it's really hard to pick one.
I like that they used clips from the TV show, "Supernatural," for this video. Bob Seger featured prominently in the soundtrack for that show. Whoever wrote the subtitles could've used a spell-checker, though.
Gibson was a company from Kalamazoo Michigan, and Seger is a proud Michigan boy. Gibson unfortunately was bought by a foreign company in the 70's and moved to Nashville. They have never been the same.
At the beginning he talked of a young couple finding their way "in the sweet summertime" which is lively and vibrant. At the end of the song he was reflecting on time and used "with autumn closing in" which is cooler and representative of dying. We are all only here for season.
Bob wrote about his growing up.. He is one of the most biographical songwriters I've ever heard. I can almost guarantee he owned a 60 Chevy. You should move on to Like a Rock.
this song and Bob Seger both have special meaning to me. for one, my mom loved him, and would always be playing classic rock on this big huge wooden stand up stereo cabinet in our den. most of the time, it seemed like a Bob Seger song was on! and it reminds me of the love of my life and the one that got away from me from high school. she was a black haired dark eyed beauty named Beatrice Garza, and yes she has points of her own standing way up firm and high! she was a junior and I was freshman, and she did let me practice my night moves! we would sneak off even during school hrs and go get in my 78 monte carlo and make out! I loved her, and I still do to this day, even though like I said, she got away from me! but it also like i said reminds me of my mom cause she loved him. she has since passed away, so this song brings tears to my eyes! it reminds me of the best times of my life! REST IN PEACE MOM, I MISS YOU SO MUCH!
Bob Seger is probably the most prolific song writer in rock n roll! The clips in the video are from the TV show Supernatural who featured quite a few Seger songs over it's run. Including this one.
My Favorite of All Time!!! Got me through many rough times in my youth. Will listen to him till the end of my days... Such a Legendary Story Teller!!! RIP Shame On The Moon? would make my day 😊
Bob is a National Treasure....One of thee very best singer song writers to ever do it. There isnt a dive bar in the US that doesnt have Seger in the Juke Box
Love Bob he is the Midwest storyteller. Suggest Like a Rock”. Bob gave Like A Rock” to Chevy trucks cause he’s a Detroit boy. They used it for 11 years in the truck commercials back in the 90’s. 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Decades ago, I watched an animated movie called “American Pop” that told the story of generations of a family where someone always had the gift of music but history and circumstances prevents them from succeeding until finally one does. They integrated a lot of popular music from that time, blending it seamlessly into the movie. They used Night Moves for the key part where the kid has basically blackmailed his way into an audition in a recording studio. There was a certain emotional thrill as he begins singing. The producers and executives who were sitting unenthusiastically in the sound booth. Suddenly stand up and started calling other executives and musicians. Hey, it’s still Bob Seger’s voice singing the song so how can they resist.
Born in 72, listening to Bob segar riding in the back of my parents' 1965 Mustang in the 70s and early 80s. Bob has a voice that just brings tears to my eyes, so many memories....
I'm from Michigan where Bob is from, and Bob's music was a huge part of my growing up years. Decades later, after Autumn has closed in, he's still my favorite of all time. ❤
We married in ‘68 and loved Seger. I am a widow now and these songs bring back sweet memories. I am so glad reactors are finding the music of my youth.
"Autumn closing in" Summertime is over and we're in the autumn of our lives. Not yet wintertime elderly but over middle aged :). Like a Rock is imo the best song about looking back at your youth ever. It hits me hard lol.
As a child of the 70's here, I 1000% guarantee you that this song was playing in the background during millions and millions of babies being made.
Definitely baby making music!
😂
you got that right
And those kids doing reactions to the song don't realize that "special" connection it has to their parents being here.
"The best thing about kids, is makin' 'em!" --- Rodney Dangerfield
"She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes" remind you of someone Phil? You lucky dog you. Next from Bob you guys should do Against The Wind 👍🏼

Awesome !
That's what music can be all about. Grats dude.
Solid, brother.
Awesome story! Glad you're happy!
I wish there was a "love" button! ❤
At 80 years, this song means a LOT to me… autumn closing in.
77 here.
72
78
I consider this song the prequel to "Like a Rock." Both songs from the perspective of an older person looking back wistfully on their younger years.
I CONCUR
My two favorite songs from Bob.
Add in Hollywood Nights as what happened when he left the small town Night Moves girl behind. :)
Then cap it off with Against the Wind.
Exactly right. Seger put nostalgia in so much of his music. Look at "Against The Wind" as another example.
If you like this style of Bob Seger, check out "Hollywood Nights" and "Mainstreet"
Hollywood nights if you play it while driving watch your speedometer cause it's easy to speed
Whenever i hear Mainstreet it takes me right there . Bob really paints a vivid picture on it.
Hollywood Nights is in my top 3 by Seger.........maybe 2 !
My 2 favorite Bob tunes
The live performance of this is amazing

... amazing that he wrote this when he was only 28 years old. It's a song that feels like a 50 year old wrote it
yeah a lot of people miss the change in time. and how sweet is is reflecting back on those days of awkward fumbling in the dark, just trying to relieve that young lust. no true love really just hormones on fire. we've all been there right? I know I was living this song.

It's very hard to believe this incredible artist had one no.1 hit on the charts. " Shakedown " Beverly Hills Cop 2. Unbelievable!
It would have been nice if they had actually used a sixty Chevy for the video!
Absolutely! My 16 year old said she has never heard so much soul from anyone ever before she heard Bob Seger sing.
Thanks for reviewing Bob Seger. It is true…..Bob doesn’t have a bad record. He is a masterful songwriter, musician, singer and performer. He was born in Detroit and raised in Ann Arbor. Guy's you really really need too do "Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser" !!!!
Live version, from "Live Bullet" album!
@@mayLibertyprevail1afor sure! 😃
This song meant one thing when I was young and something very different when I got older, with autumn closin' in.
I have Seger's "Greatest Hits" permanently inserted in my cd player in my car....great driving music.
You'd think that if one were going to create a "Night Moves" lyric video, one would not mispell "night" lol
Blessed to have seen him 8 times over the years! Unbelievable Live Performer! he was 75 the last time I saw him and he blew the roof off that venue. Alto Reed the greatest Saxophone ever player
One of the greatest live performers EVER.
Bob Seger's best song imo
Love Bob Seger, hope you get to Against the Wind. Wonderful vocals and musicality
agree! also...
"She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes" Could be written for Sam.

Listen to this song every ten years. It gets more and more powerful as you get older.
Truer words are very rarely spoken. The Autumn of my life having recently started, this song really makes even more sense to me now. Just a truly great song about life that does indeed have more and more of an impact the older you get.
been listening to it more like 'every ten days'.
Singing about the summertime of his life then mentioning autumn closing in…great line.

Bob Seger is an extraordinary story teller through his kick-ass music.
This song drips nostalgia for us of that generation. Such an awesome song.

After nearly 50 years of hearing this song, it gains meaning more and more. I saw Bob & his band many times over the years - always a killer show.
Awesome!
Almost 60 years of performing great music. Ya can't go wrong with anything he did.
I love the clips from the TV show Supernatural. This song was a was a great addition to the shows soundtrack.
Indeed!! Nice to see Baby Rollin' on 😎👍
..be even nicer if they'd spelt 'night' correctly lol
Awesome.
It's not a teenage love song. It's a song about a man, looking at his life, where more of it is behind him, than ahead of him. I can tell ya this song hits me a lot different now that I'm 65, than what it did when it was first released.

He's singing our shared history. Another bit: Roll Me Away
Doesn't get any better than Bob Seger.😊
His music to me is pure Americana
One of the greatest songs of all time!
My sister just passed away a couple months ago. I aint listened to Bob since until now. Bob was her favorite
The first time I ever heard Night Moves I thought instantly CLASSIC
Since the 70`s I`ve always said that Bob has never made a bad song...This is the song that started me on my Bob Seger journey...I have all of his songs and I still can`t get enough of this awesome legend and his great band....Thanks for the reaction...You both are wonderful.
I was born in 1970,Bob was a big part of my youth and teen years. Great reactions ❤🙏
the man is the best story teller ever. He can sing the phone book
"Main Street", "Roll Me Away", if your in a partyin mood "Ramblin Gamblin Man" and a mellow, reminiscent mood "Against The Wind". there are so many other great ones by him it's really hard to pick one.
That is one of the best songs ever written
💯 percent Detroit Soul music. Feel good, Saturday night acostic guitars around the campfire in Winnipeg.

"Out in the backseat of my brother's 67 Chevy"
Don't night moves me
Travlin Man/Beautiful Loser from Live Bullitt.
I like that they used clips from the TV show, "Supernatural," for this video.
Bob Seger featured prominently in the soundtrack for that show.
Whoever wrote the subtitles could've used a spell-checker, though.
i like that they spelled "night" as "nigth" every time the backup singers sang it.
Came to comments looking for this!
Bob was asked during an interview if he recorded any songs he knew would be a hit...this song only
Points of her own, sittin way up high. Way up firm and high. Most people miss these lyrics, lol
When I was a kid, I thought it was "had a voice all her own, way up firm and high." Made sense. Then later I thought about what sneaky perv Bob was 👍
I can't imagine anyone missing those lyrics!
If you watch a lot of reactions you'll see people. Miss them all the time
Remember, it's their first time, too (ie listening to this song)

The music video features scenes from the hit television series Supernatural. The car is a 1967 Chevrolet Impala.
I GUARANTEE you guys would recognize Like A Rock... it was on commercials for years.
Bob wrote about his growing up.. He is one of the most biographical songwriters I've ever heard. I can almost guarantee he owned a 60 Chevy. You should move on to Like a Rock.
Just can't go wrong with Seger. I can't pick a favorite artist, but Bob is definitely at the top of the bunch.
Love that the video clip is from the TV show Supernatural.
I was privileged to see Bob twice live. Truly great but better live than on studio albums.
In the video "Night" is spelled nigth, also the car shown is a 1967 Impala.
My fav show Supernatural shown during song 😃
“As autumn closes in”. Iconic

Summertime is your youth and Autumn is your adulthood.
RIP
Shame On The Moon? would make my day 😊
Ah, an Ann Arbor man, like myself probably loving the victory last night.
Bob Seger, roll me away and Hollywood nights. I think you'll enjoy both of them
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Y'all should react to Against The Wind by Bob Seger next.
Bob is a National Treasure....One of thee very best singer song writers to ever do it. There isnt a dive bar in the US that doesnt have Seger in the Juke Box
My favorite Bob Seger song is we’ve got tonight. But he doesn’t have a bad song.
I love that they used the video from Supernatural. Bob Seger will forever be me favorite performer.
Best Bob Seger song here. Iconic 70s music. Was always on the radio growing up. Excellent!
Love Bob he is the Midwest storyteller. Suggest Like a Rock”. Bob gave Like A Rock” to Chevy trucks cause he’s a Detroit boy. They used it for 11 years in the truck commercials back in the 90’s. 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥

I love how y'all watched this version of the song with the clips of the show supernatural with Dean Winchesters 67 impala driving down roads
“Her Strut” should be the next one. 🤘🏼❤️😀
Born in 72, listening to Bob segar riding in the back of my parents' 1965 Mustang in the 70s and early 80s. Bob has a voice that just brings tears to my eyes, so many memories....
Another great one from Seder is "like a Rock"... super
man Bob Segar is probably the most underrated singer song writer in any type of music he is absolutely 1 of the best of all time such a great track 👍
The Famous Final Scene is spectacular!
This is the epitome of Seger! So much greatness…please keep going!
I'm from Michigan where Bob is from, and Bob's music was a huge part of my growing up years. Decades later, after Autumn has closed in, he's still my favorite of all time. ❤
This was my High School song, right down to the '60 Chevy! ❤
master story teller put to music , grew upon this mans recordings and live shows at the old Boston Garden, memorable and will never forget
Like a Rock or Roll me Away are 🔥
I honestly can’t think of a song of his that I don’t like.
Greatest storyteller ever.
The driving scenes are from the show Supernatural and that beauty of a car 1967 Chevy Impala!
We married in ‘68 and loved Seger. I am a widow now and these songs bring back sweet memories. I am so glad reactors are finding the music of my youth.
Night moves and Supernatural B roles. Good combo
Try Katmandu next. Studio version.
I love nigth moves. lol
Bob Seger is the best story teller in rock, period. Every one of his tunes paint a picture.
Bob Seger -"Main Street" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bob is AWESOME an AMAZING singer/story-teller!
“Paradise by the dashboard lights” is where we tried to make our clumsy “Night Moves” back in the 70’s.
Great video choice! Gotta love Baby from Supernatural.
Bob Seger ~ “We’ve Got Tonight” (my personal fave)…and “Like A Rock” (great video)
Like a rock is my favorite of his.
Thanks Mark! This may be my favorite Bob Seger Song! Oh, the memories this brings back!
"Autumn closing in" Summertime is over and we're in the autumn of our lives. Not yet wintertime elderly but over middle aged :). Like a Rock is imo the best song about looking back at your youth ever. It hits me hard lol.
Me also✌️
