Hello, I just found your channel.... I used to live in Colorado Springs, CO when I was stationed at Fort Carson up until I got out of the Army in 1990. I moved to Florida in 1992, a couple of years after I got out of the Army, my sister lived in Florida, but I ended up moving to Florence, SC to find better job opportunities (Hurricane Andrew had just wiped out the southern half of Florida just after I bought my plane tickets) and my parents lived here in SC. I grew up in Buffalo, NY, and I had always dreamed of living in Colorado from listening to John Denver's song "Rocky Mountain High".... so when I joined the Army in 1986 and found out I would be stationed in Colorado, I was so happy!! I missed out on seeing a lot of what you showed here due to lack of transportation and wasn't aware of what was available as far as things to do. I did make it to Manitou Springs though, went up to the top of Pike's Peak a few times on the old version of the Cog Railroad, and I loved it! I do remember the street fair that they had each spring in Manitou Springs, do they still do that? I believe it was where they have the American Indians doing their dances and the shadows from the son made their outfits look like birds flying from above..... they shut down a bunch of the streets so vendors could set up their carts, etc, it is a memory I will never forget! I still have a lot of those pictures too! I have a picture of my son who was only about 5 months old at the time (he'll be 35 next month), and one of the Old Indian Chiefs held him so I could take a picture with the 2 of them..... Like I said above, I live in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina now, and my son's fiance is Pee Dee Indian.... I just had 5 x 7 pictures made to give to her and her family. I do know that Pike's Peak is named after General Zebulon Pike, and his uniform and his wife's wedding dress is in the Miramont Castle Museum. Do you know if they still have the multiple train sets in the basement near the back of the museum? That was awesome to go through back then! I always thought that it was Zebulon Pike that founded Colorado Springs, but I guess I was wrong.... it's been a long time since I went there. I hated leaving Colorado Springs, CO, but all of my family was back east, and being a single mother of a toddler, I needed their help. Thank you for sharing this video, it brought back a lot of memories, I just wish I knew about all of the other things you can do there.... but I enjoyed what I was able to do! I'm not able to travel anymore due to serious medical issues, so I am glad to be able to see the world so to speak on my computer.... it's a lot less expensive that way, but I know it's much more amazing to see it in person... thanks again, have a great day!
Thank you so much for taking time to share your life and experiences with me! I love that. It’s awesome. This video was helpful for you. That’s why I do it! I don’t know about the trends; that’s a good question. I’m glad you’ve settled into where you areand it sounds like you’ve found “your spot”.😊 I should be grateful if you’d pass on my information to anyone you know moving to or from Colorado Springs; a big thrust of this channel is to be a resource for folks who are buying or selling real estate! Thank you again for your kindness and sharing your life with me a bit! I appreciate you. ☺️🙏🏼
Thanks for all your info. Hope to visit soon, possibly move back to CO. Maybe in your next video, turn music down more, or don't really need any so we can hear you better. Thanks for CA.
Hello Herb. THANK YOU for your honesty; great feedback! Sorry the music obstructed my voice. My bad. I'll absolutely monitor that more closely. I'd enjoy being a wonderful resource for you in getting you back to Colorado! Would you please shoot me a text or email to let me know where you're coming from & your needs, goals and priorities so I can know how to provide value to you!? Standing by for your direct communication, sir!...
Is there any pics showing how close the incline is to the cog RR...I was there last October and enjoyed Manitou Springs but overall annoyed because I close to alot of attractions but couldn't make heads or tails of the streets to get around...I did drive to the top of Pikes Peak and went to Cripple Creek..
Sounds like you had a great adventure! The Cog Rail Station is literally across the parking lot from the Incline; you'll see it if you look/head directly south right from the base of the Incline! It's right there, literally feet away. Are you looking to move to the Springs and can I be a resource for you!?...
Thanks for that, Ken! No question the Coffin Races are legendary. This list was not focussed on festivals or 1 time events so much, but activities that folks can participate in on a regular/recurring basis at their discretion. I should absolutely do another video on festivals and annual attractions; great idea! Are you looking to buy or sell real estate anytime soon? Can I be a resource for you in that realm, sir?... :-)
Great content, I'll be heading out there soon. What I'd like to see in your new videos is how much time to expect to spend at this places, Walking on the trails, waiting in line and so forth. And how much to expect to spend at these places. Keep up the good work.
That's a great point! Thanks for that. I'll keep that in mind for future videos. Can I be a resource for you in buying real estate (are you moving here)?... :-)
Thanks for reaching out! I don’t mean to just give you a relative answer, but I’d be lying to guarantee some type of weather for you in Colorado in April. It really can very, drastically, here. We can have 10° snowstorms in April, but I’ve also experienced 74°F in April as well. 😂 Either way, the great news is that you can almost be guaranteed that you won’t be wet! So you don’t need raincoats or anything like that. It’s all about making sure you’re warm enough depending on the forecasted weather that week. The cog rail is a fabulous idea and adventure. 😊 Any chance you’re looking at real estate during your visit and I can be a resource for you that way?
Thank you for your honesty! I appreciate that and you're not the first person to say that. I've since modified that through my producer so we're not doing that anymore. I value your input. Can I be a resource in buying or selling real estate for you!?... :-)
Not anymore! Get ready to pay for everything including parking! I remember when parking was free!!The place is packed! You can’t hardly find parking and people’s homes and once peaceful quaint town has literally been invaded by tourists! I had a tourist walk up to my house wanting to come inside like it was a historic tour!! NO! PLEASE GO HOME! Tourists have ruined Colorado!
I totally empathize and get where you’re coming from! Unfortunately, I think tourist traffic is only going to increase, there! I would love to help you turn that negative into a positive when you’re ready by selling your property for you for top dollar (the draw is the same reason. I’m sure you have incredible equity and appreciation in your property), so we can get you off to your next and discovered destination, so you aren’t bothered by tourists! Are you ready?…😊

Hello Brad. I’m not sure what that means. Is that a good thing?…

Great video. Have to make it to the manitou incline stairs someday soon
Thanks for watching. Stay with us.
How do you not include the Emma Crawford coffin races? Clearly one of the most unique events anywhere in Colorado!

They had coffin races elsewhere

So they claim indeed

How should you dress in April? Is it winter coat weather or spring jacket weather? Especially if going on the Cog

The camera noise gets very annoying in your video
My bad.
I liked the content but found the constant camera shutter "clicking" sounds in the background to be distracting from your overall presentation.

Is Manatou Springs a Conservative town?
I think that’s all that matter of opinion and perspective!

Ive been there a few times to visit family and its a pretty liberal hippy town. Beautiful non the less.
@@jessekay9171 agreed! Thanks for engaging Jesse. You looking at moving here versus just visiting?…😊
