NOTE: Apparently the £700 Whiskey is NOT a Japanese whiskey. Its a cheap shochu rebranded as expensive aged whiskey. I didn't buy it, it was all sent to me through a brand agency for free. Which makes sense why it smelled nice but lacked in taste. Lmao, I thought it was so weird I couldn't tell a difference but also very relieved my god tongue status is saved.

i can imagine whiskey drinkers smelled and drank so much pure alcohol that the smell of it kind of gets filtered out, and then you're left with what other aroma there is. typically if youre gonna smell an alcoholic beverage you sit a couple seconds with your nose in it so that you get used to the sting, and then you smell what it actually has to offer. im guessing Felix smelled the nuances while Marzia smelled the alcohol.

I live in Dublin and I took a tour inside the Jameson distillery, they really take pride of their brand even though it is "cheap", there's must be a reason why they are still one of the most famous whiskey in the world ;) and that's why you managed to get it right compared to that fake expensive one.
