Love this book! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5mUWL it is simply one-of-a-kind! I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!
That lumber yard isn't too far from me. I've been watching your vids for a while and never knew you were based out of NJ. I guess I just focused on your woodworking techniques and not your location. I will have to stop by your showroom the next time I'm in Red Bank.
Great video as always. Can't wait to see the finished product. Had a buddy that was into bee keeping, he got out and went full time woodworking. I'll miss the honey and comb, but not the stings. Lol
Made a bunch of the beehive mouse guard last week for my parents. I've made them from plywood using my router to route out a thin long entrance. I wonder if it will work. Never made them before and from what I see they make them with holes rather than thin rectangular hole. Wonder if it will work.
When you tighten the clamps to join the two boards is there a defined process or sequence? Is it from the ends in or the middle out? Is it gradual, tightening each a bit and go to the next and then come back to where you began to start again? Or, do you lock each clamp down and move on? Can one over tighten and warp the boards? Do you use as many clamps as you can/have or is it more a function of one every three inches or so?
Jon, I have been a subscriber for quite some time to your channel, enjoy your videos tremendously! Woodwork is a hobby for me and one thing I really like is the use of "normal" tools like a biscuit joiner, I have one and cannot justify the cost of a domino machine... I think the biscuit joiner is a great tool and if someone of your caliber uses it ... then it is surly good enough for me!! Great video!! Regards from New Zealand.
I have two questions. First, how long after you apply the glue do you wait before wiping the top with the wet paper towel? Second, I see that you did not use cauls to keep the boards flat. Why not? When are they necessary?
Jon, I'm not sure if you have answered this, but what is your thoughts on a domino in stead of a bisket jointer? I know price is a big difference.... but how much stronger are they compared to each other?
That is going to be a beautiful wood top. I see the mailing address for stickers in the description. I can't remember if I sent you any so I will drop a few of my stickers in the mail to you. Keep it up! Douglas

Thanks, Jon. I've built a bed board following your design. Did you consider investing in a better microphone? This one is catching a lot of room, and is hard to listen. Many potential viewers are avoiding videos with bad audio.
Great work! But there is a discrepancy in nomenclature apparently you took wood shop on the east coast. There is no such thing as a "board" the word you are looking for is "stock".
