I always enjoy spending time with you guys through watching your videos. Your garden and flock of chickens look like they’re all thriving, so great job guys. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 🦘

Love that you're tuning in from Australia! The garden and chickens are doing very well this time of year! One of my favorite things to do is just sit on the porch, play my guitar and just watch the chickens and stare at the garden!! This time of year is so much work but also there is so much joy in just watching it all thrive! Thanks for your nice comment, and thanks for watching!

I follow a few homesteaders who have invested in stock protection dogs normally the great Pyrenees breed of dog is most favoured also a great play mate for your son, if your thinking of having any other animals like goats for milk or even rabbits, ducks, Guinea fowl a stock protection dog would protect all of these if it’s done right all this from the comfort of my armchair, but having seen others reported success with them I just wanted to pass that useless bit of information on.

To become energy and food self-sufficient, I have partnered with Amish builders to make small houses that I add solar, batteries, wood stove, and high efficiency heat exchangers delivered for under $100K 720 sq ft in Wisconsin. I show them the "Ruth Stout" method of "no weeding, no watering gardening" which creates better soil every year. No septic or well needed if you use a composting toilet and atmospheric water generator, getting your water from the air. All this is possible to put together right now.

I just found your RUclips site and have watched several of your videos. I really don't like how much your husband has belittled on so many episodes.
I'm in Wisconsin also and really wanted to enjoy your channel. But on the last two found, I was waiting for his next comments. I'm so disappointed.

Great to see your August update. I'm also in northern Wisconsin harvesting like crazy and we also have mama hens leading chicks around the gardens and forest. Our tomatoes are all green still...hoping to get some ripe ones before winter! Anyhow good luck with the chicks and gardens and experiments!

Oh that is so awesome!! Love to hear from other Northern Wisconsin homesteaders with gardens and chickens and mama hens! I think the tomatoes are going to turn red in a couple weeks and when they do it's going to be crazy! Good to hear your comment and thanks for watching!

Doing great with trying new things !
I'm hoping the peas do well second time around.
It does take a bunch to get a good yield

Thank you... I figure it's best to just give it a try. I hope the peas will come up but there may be a trick to preserving the seed better but we'll see. The peas are so good and so easy to preserve but yes it will take a whole bunch more to really save for winter. I hope to have way more next year. Every year I learned new things about gardening! Thank you for your comment and for watching!

Hey I was curious how do you water your garden? Do you always want to buy hand or do you have a system? What do you use the sunflowers for?

Great video look up the Florida weave method for your tomatoes next year it is amazing. We have been using it for years in western Nc . We used all different types of tomato cages only to end in failure , but the Florida weave has never let us down .

Thank you for your nice comment. I've never heard of the Florida weave method, I'll look that up. I am thinking of trying something new because the tomatoes just grow so much (which I love) and it's tough to keep them from falling over this time of year. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching the video!

Hello! Thank you for that thought, it's such a coincidence... my sister in law's dad just sent us a salad spinner in the mail last week. I was so surprised and I love it. Thank you so much for thinking of that as well... and thank you for watching!
