Here's@trickk ..... if you lay your wooden spoon over the boiling pot it won't boil over ...my son-in-law taught me that one ...good luck! Just lay the wooden spoon across the top of your pot as it's boiling.
What a great trick, I'm going to try it... so many times when I'm making oatmeal it wants to boil over, I like the wooden spoon trick. Thank you so much for sharing, hope you have a nice day!
Yay Krumries!!! Hi Lindsey and Shane. It's always great to see you. The lady of the house always needs a little time alone, as do the men of the house. It' works out for everyone.. Good for mind body and soul. Take good care.😊
Hello there! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Alone time is always nice, and I really enjoy the quiet... I hardly could wait for them to come home though. Luckily things went smoothly here and their trip went well! Hope you have a good night, take care too!
Nb I meant to say in Australia we connect the guttering to a water (usually super large)tank & that’s a good way to sauce h2o. Actually in some states it’s compulsory for new builds to install them.
Connecting the guttering is a great idea, we have all the guttering and the tank, hopefully we'll get this project complete this year. I have a feeling it's going to be a dry year but who knows. Capturing any amount of water would be good and less we need to hand pump, lol! Hope you have a great day!
Thank you! We love the pump too, it's working so good. It's really nice for keeping the sink clean and dishes rinsed! Thanks for the feedback on the blooper reel, lol:) Hope you have a good night.
Thanks! The handpump is so nice, it really makes a difference when you're not used to having running water at the sink. My dad made that kindling splitter and I think I'm going to have him sharpen it and yes, a smaller hammer is another thing I need to get, lol, the splitting maul is just a little heavy. Thank you for your comments. Hope you have a good night.
We sure do love the new pump (took forever to get here, lol) - it's going to be a game changer for keeping the kitchen clean. Thank you so much for your nice comment, hope you have a good night!
Great 👍 video you look very content by yourself getting the homestead cleaned 🧹 and organised.Well spring is almost here you must be getting excited to plant some seeds and get your garden ready for 2024.Peace out enjoy the quit times.
Thanks for the nice comment. I am very excited to start the seeds, actually I'm all prepared to get started this week! Thanks so much for watching, have a good night.
Yeah you got your kitchen pump!!! I have never tried pumpkin soup. I can’t wait to see the next video and as always God Bless and can’t wait until spring comes for myself and your videos ❤ P.S. Glad hubby and son made it back home safely!
We are so happy that the pump finally came in and it works so great! Well worth the wait, it's going to be a game changer around the kitchen for sure. Pumpkin soup is SO good, it's like squash soup except it's even better tasting! I also can't wait for the spring - I'm already starting to gear up for starting my garden starters this week! Exciting! Hope you have a good night.
So happy for you guys that your kitchen hand pump came in!! Your silly sponge loving chicken was great!! Your soup looked delicious!! What kind of pumpkins were those? Love the bloopers!! 🥰🙏🏻❤️
That little kitchen pump is going to be such a game changer for us, I am so thankful for it! Big Mama, the chicken, is so funny following me around with that sponge, I couldn't believe it, it made washing the car fun, lol! Thanks for the feedback on the bloopers. Hope you have a great evening.
Thank you, happy to hear your nice comment. We are thrilled to finally have the new hand pump in, it's been working so great. That generator really got me nervous there for a minute - I think the only problem was operator error, lol!!
I had a wood stove and used a soft scrub bid so as not to scratch the glass but first rub vinegar on the scrubbie. I bought the Mr. Clean scrubbie. It worked fantastically looked like new! Just try it. Love watching!!!!!!
This time around, I tried using the Mr. Clean magic eraser with vinegar and some of the ashes. It took it off pretty good but not great. Our woodstove glass just gets so black because we can't burn hot fires in it or it would just get too hot in this small cabin, lol! I love the way the glass looks when it's clean though. One thing I know for sure is I'm not using the woodstove glass cleaner I have anymore, it took my breath away when I accidentally breathed it in, yikes!
Fun video! I thought it was strange you started with the one pot and changed to the other in the next clip until I saw the bloopers. Haha! I get it! Shit happens! 😂 Nice guys, enjoy your videos! ✌️
Thanks for the nice comment... lol, I know, the darn soup just didn't want to pour nicely out of the roaster! I thought maybe that might confuse people, glad you stayed to the bloopers to see why! Hope you have a nice evening.
Thank you for the nice comment and glad you found us, welcome! Those pumpkins we grew last year are called Small Sugar Pumpkin's... they grew to the perfect size and I still have seeds leftover so I'll be planting them again this year! Hope you have a great day.
Well, I think we just like to keep it simple and easy for now... but I have seen these setups. We probably will do something like this later in the future using more of a permanent setup like installing pex piping. We have quite a few more projects that will need to take place first. Thanks for mentioning it and commenting! Hope you have a great week!
Do you or Shane work jobs? Pumpkin soup? I’ve heard of squash soup. Probably tastes about the same. The chicken pecking on the sponge was funny! Where do you store your garden produce?
One of us does, I work from home and Shane is a full-time homesteader. I am lucky enough to telework from home and still get to be around my family all the time! My job is creating watershed restoration and protection strategies for watersheds in Northeastern Minnesota- I love water and nature, so it fits well. This soup is interchangeable with squash - I always do that with pumpkin pie as well, I'll make it with squash instead, lol! I loved Big Mama chasing around the sponge, lol! Right now, we store our garden produce inside the cabin on the cement floor where it is cool and out of the sunlight - it isn't ideal at all and I can't wait to finish our root cellar! Thank you so much for commenting! Hope you have a good night.
Great video Lindsey and Shane
Thank you for watching and for the nice comment! Have a great week!

Slick hand pump, should make life a little easier. Try a smaller hammer on the kindling splitter 😂

Note to self, don't leave sponges accessible to chickens
Lol! Yes, apparently some chickens really love them, lol!
Awesome video . glade you got a sink pump
But the best part of the video was the ol shit moment . Now that was funny
Thank you, happy to hear your nice comment. We are thrilled to finally have the new hand pump in, it's been working so great. That generator really got me nervous there for a minute - I think the only problem was operator error, lol!!

Great video. Just found you all.
I'm curious what kind of pumpkins did you grow?
Thank you for the nice comment and glad you found us, welcome!

Pumpkin soup? Sounds interesting....
It's so good, if you're a fan of squash soup, you'll love pumpkin soup!
@@KrumriesCabin do you have a recipe?
Why don’t you use a 12V RV water pump? This type of project would be relatively cheap!
