I also forgot to mention Cowboys had Bill Parcels, who won 2 superbowls with the giants. Yet, couldn't win one with cowboys. Players in 90's was different breed that did there own thing...Players now and this new generation won't do that.

This is the best thing that could’ve happened to the Cowboys. Dan Quinn was soft. Zimmer will get it done and make this defense play like it should.
Revisionist history.The defense helped win the majority of the games won. I was at the Carolina game when Bland got another pick six to close out the game. That Texas Coast offense was trash the first six games.

Completely dissagree!!! Dak giiving up a 14pt lead completely changed the entire strategy and game plan. So tired of this re-writing of history by people who love to defend Dak. The problem now is they need to many players, most of the O line needs replaced, some of the receivers and running backs, most of the D line and line backers need replaced. You can't do that in one year, it takes a few and nobody is going to do a deal like the Vikings did with Jerry and Jimmy that buit the 90s team.

Dallas didn't play conservative, they just didn't execute the plays. They were outhustled and outmatched by the packers and all other winning teams they played even losing to the cardinals.
I think Zimmer will soon find out that he cannot "verbally" abuse the players and that Jerry will always get on the players side.
The Cowboys used smoke and mirrors all season to hide their deficiencies on defense. First, and foremost, they have no linebackers. They still need a ball hawk safety and someone besides Parsons to consistently pressure the qb. Gilmore was a major disappointment at CB. He was consistently beaten and/or out of position. They made a major mistake by paying Dak big money when he’s never even been to a Conference championship much less a Super Bowl.
