@jrock28 guess it depends on what u call solid. Zeke, Rico, and Royce combined for over 1700 Total Yards and 12TD's last year. If they can combine for that for us we should be just fine. That's over 1200 rushing and 400 receiving out the backfield
From what ive read about Nate Peat he has a ton of ability. In Misouri I think Shrader was the guy they thought had a better shot at being drafted higher so they played him in the more visible games. At Stanford i think they were trying to transition from a power running team to a passing team so he didnt get the volume of carries stanford usually gave their backs. I think he bounces stuff outside too much although he can run well inside. At the running back position i would say there is an outside chance he could make the roster and even see time because he has the speed we dont have at RB.

@@mattm5505 yeah shrader was better but also had 200 more carries in 2023. In 2022 they had the same yards per carry. Shrader more of a power back with great vision.Peat has more speed and elusiveness. Shrader is more similar to the backs we already have. Peat would bring us more of a home run threat. That's something we don't have.
Thanks for putting eyes a this guy for us. I kinda feel he’s a camp body/practice squad guy. He may have a shot at the roster if they have a plan for his speed.
Peat is a nothing/burger ... Non starter at Missouri .. 4 yds/carry there. Typically you need 6 or 7 yds/carry in the NCAA to translate well to the pros. Speed doesn't mean anything until you get a break-away. A 4.2 guy isn't so dominant that he's going to beat a 4.5 guy to the corner all the time.. it takes 40 yds for the 4.2 guy to get a couple of steps.. that won't be a factor in the 20 yds from the Rb's starting point to the sideline.. no meaningful lead or dominance.

You might want to also check game films while he was playing at Stanford. His speed is his most outstanding trait
Missouri is in the SEC .. alot closer to what he'll face in the NFL than Stanford. Peat =underwhelming signing ... Jones boys slept on RB's .. draft rb's , udfa rb's ... very unhealthy RB Room right now.
@@OmahaSand agreed. I suggested game films from Stanford since there was a lack of nearly game film. Again I agree with your assessment that our RB situation is concerning.

I'd take almost anyone to get rid of 1.7/yds/carry Deuce Vaughn... Malik Davis is better than this undewhelming guy .. but then .. Malik is likely better than both Deuce and Zeke too.
@@OmahaSand I agree but I don't think more than 2 backs will get carries consistently. I think that will be dowdle, Zeke, and perhaps Davis
@@morpheusrising9534 If we had a normal RB room .. I'd agree with "Likely 2 backs will carry most of the load" .. But we don't have a normal room . Rico is NFL quality .. great decision maker and had a better yards per carry than Pollard last year.. But he hasn't stayed healthy for 1 single season out of the 3 he's been in Dallas... a health risk. Zeke is washed .. averaged 2 yds/carry in the 2022 playoffs for Dallas.. in 2023 avg'd 3.5 yds/carry for New England .. has produced less yds per game every year for the past 5 years. Zeke averaged 37 yds/game for the Patriots. Freeman avg'd 4 yds'/carry for the Rams last year .. fantastic.. IF.. and only IF we can get the same.. Freeman has had several years of 3 yards/carry .. Hurt? .. Bad Team ? .. A big question mark. .... We don't have a single RB without some serious question marks.. That is Not Good... and Jones Boys don't seem concerned - they should be.

Salute Voch! I wish we got Schrader who went to the 49ers as an undrafted free agent. I think people missed on Schrader because he only has 4.6 speed and weighs about 205, I had him as a 5th rounder. I do think Nathaniel Peat would have had much greater production if not for the work horse Schrader, he's probably one of of practice squad RB'S with Snoop Conner or Malik Davis. Cody wasn't drafted either & he was twice the RB Peat is. The 9ers signed Schaeder as a UDFA.
Schrader went undrafted to the 49ers. We got his back up and people are talking him up he's a camp body and that's about it. I know the Cowboys do UDFA well but this year not so much.
they literally had 5 UDFA they signed that they had draftable grades on, relax buddy
@mrrager1409 Just because they have draftable grades doesn't mean they're going to live it up to it. They went undrafted for a reason and you're not always going to find a diamond in the rough.

THE ONLY THING DALLAS HAS TO DO IS: Rotate the RBs in… they should’ve been doing that the last 4 years when they got pollard. They simple could’ve done every one a favor (fans, zeke, pollard, scheme, etc.). Zeke would probably have more tread on the tires too. I cannot stress is enough you have 4 personalities in the rb room make everyone have a role and get that run rolling! It’s laughable what they thought how to solve the Running problem - “hey let rotate players in” this season”. When every other good teams been doing that for extended periods of time.
I feel like Dallas is nearly the epitome of the average American - waiting till it’s too late. Never being proactive, and being caught up their ways too really see everything for what it is.
I feel like the boys put a lot into this dude blocking. A third-down back who can block opens some opportunities.
His ceiling for this season is the practice squad!!

Basically got benched for losing fumbles and poor decision-making on run reads in comparison to Schrader. Peat doesn't seem like a great fit for zone-oriented run schemes while Schrader is a better fit, so Mizzou just ended up benching Peat (despite his obvious talent and explosiveness) for the steadier output and consistency from Schrader

Einstein ran up the "A" gap 85% of the time on running plays.. easiest play in football to defend against.. Needs to be sent to the stocks and flogged. And slow to adjust when his dxmb/calls don't work .. Short Bus slow.

We coulda had Kendall Milton .. 6.1 yds/carry/Univ of Georga .. very athletic .. Orange Bowl MVP last Dec .. Went undrafted .. Jerry and Stephen slept and tried to get 47,385 Linebackers on the team for camp instead of getting us a solid Rb ... Eagles got Milton, Thanks Jerry?? What a mxron.
He might not even make the Eagles team though. They have Barkley and didn't they draft a RB from Clemson too besides any RBs they still had on the roster from last year.

@@OmahaSand I don't think it will be as bad as people think. It hasn't been all that good in a few years. Pollard wasn't bad but he wasn't that great either he was def better when he was behind Zeke than he was when he had to carry the load. There was only a few RBs that I think would have made much of a difference in the draft this year and I probably wouldn't have taken one in the 2nd and by the time they got around later on most all of them were already gone. I did like that kid from Wisconsin though they could have had him. Some RBs will have to be the odd man out on some of these teams though so Dallas might still sign somebody that gets released. Pretty sure Jets drafted 2 besides they already have Hall.

Not impressed ..just average running back ...nothing shifty, not juking no one, not running no one over.. he just goes to the hole the play is designed for. Didnt see him make one guy miss by making a good move.. he just follows his blockers pretty good , but thats not good enough , you need to be able to make people miss you in the nfl to be a great running back.
