Do you know if there's any location restrictions? Meaning, if i'm from a non english speaking country, will I ever get to the US or UK audience if my videos are in enlgish, yet if I'm pushed only to my location then people are not interested in english content as much..
Hello, imo there's definitely some heavy limitations on language barrier. I was going to make English speaking videos but they were only being pushed in Mexico where I live and the rest of Latin America. I've decided to focus on Spanish since I noticed and it really worked.
I agree with Checo43. I feel like there do seem to be some heavy limitations when it comes to what country you are based in despite what country you put in your settings.
When I first started on TikTok I was living in France and was mainly getting shown french content and all my content was being pushed to a French audience. So just like Checo43, I focused on making French content.
Now I've moved to the UK I have noticed a difference when it comes to the audience coming from my For You page. And to this day, over 90% of my followers are french.
I think to break into other countries, your video first has to do well with yours. If you take a look at your For You page I think you will notice that you only ever see foreign country videos when they've gone "viral".

Nice video, does tiktok include the fact about time? I mean - can your video life cycle end at night, when there is obviously less people on tiktok?
Nothing new but quite interesting though - I guess youtube does the same with its algorithm. Do you think it also does add into consideration things as the swipe speed or perhaps if you read the comments or not or the position of the phone while you watched a video?
