- This video is the third installment and shows how to clean the headliner of your car or truck with Tide, cold water clean (fresh scent). Tobacco odor can be difficult to remove in some vehicles. the trick is to attack the headliner, where the smoke rises to. Tide not only neutralizes the odor, it does an excellent job at cleaning dirt and stains as well.

Definitely going to try this out. These are really helpful tips as I do a lot of interiors. Thanks a lot for taking the time and putting these vids out...there making my life easier! Much appreciated! Cheers mate!
Mad Wax - I am a brand new detailer and would love to talk with you about how you detail!
Terrific process for headliners and odor removal.
Especially for smokers!!
I love your videos thanks a million
Thanks Mean! I have another video coming out on smoke odor removal. Stay tuned!! 😁
What do you recommended for beyond heavy smoker stains in headliner. It should be light grey and it's orange from smoke/tar. We just bought this car and the headliner is disgusting.
just used the cold water tide today on a foundation stain...miracles! p.s. first other detailer I've seen have Ardex bottles!
And if you get a stain that is an absolute nightmare... put an ounce of Tide CWC in the Spray Nine bottle and give it a go! Those two together are unstoppable! 👍🏻
I use ardex wool and foam pads...as well as the APC and Hard at It compound.
Apex Detail I only have the apc (new wave) great cleaner. nearest Ardex to me is about 50 minutes away
Same here...45 mi away... they deliver every 2 weeks. Yup New Wave!!! Works well!
I like how you say ON.
Will any tide type work? like HE?
What other chemiclas can i use? O have a car thats awful cigarette smell
Is it okay to agitate with soft drill brush?
Would it be worth it to remove the headliner to clean the roof of the vehicle? The car has a sunroof.
If its in the customers budget... its an option 👍🏻
I'm looking into a steamer... you have the 1275 right?? any knowledge if the 1385 is worth the extra money?
The higher the number...the higher the pressure and a bit of a bigger holding tank. They area huge benefit Thomas...I highly recommend!
Thats correct...I have the 1275
thanks for the reply and do you feel the 1275 lasts long enough and has high enough psi ?
Honestly... the psi could be a little higher...but the longevity is not a question. Especially if you make it a habit of using distilled water every time. As for how long a refill lasts...I can Detail an XL Denali with it.
Apex Detail how about the autoright steamer im seeing great reviews.
Will Gain work just as well?
Yes
What is the measurement for 7-1 ?
You're the man! Thx!
Glad it worked out for you!!
Do you have direct measurements
It's 7:1. So if you use one tablespoon of tide, use 7 tablespoons of water.
does the tide leave a residue on the fabric?
William Mercer no residue when diluted properly. Even when I lay it on heavy...as long as I mop it up well enough. With any headliner... a delicate touch is needed.
Diluted 7:1
