I enjoy your videos and for those who complain about his lengthy videos, when you explain anything to someone including people who don’t know how to do things, you have to explain in great detail and repeat yourself so that way it stays stuck in the brain, you know muscle memory. So Scott keep going I enjoy your videos

20 second advanced secret summary (TLDW @5:48) Clean like normal, use 10:1 diluted Schaeffer Citrol 266 on fabrics & headliner. Spray liberally but not saturated, wipe down, spray again and let sit to eliminate odor. Don't use on soft touch plastic. Clean door gaskets because ozone won't get them. Got it. ;)

You are 100% correct about the dangers of Rapid Remover. I use it for vinyl graphics removal/cleanup and one of my guys put the bottle away without making sure the lid was screwed on tight and just the fumes leaking out softened and/or delaminated every plastic item in the tool bucket with it. It's powerful and effective stuff, but has its dangers too. Excellent video.

Hey Scott thank you for those tips , I Was a smoker for 40+ years, now I am smoke free since 9/2012 ❣️❣️💖 finally and Thank God ! Those odors are so hard to get out permanently . I have a daughter that is a smoker and this is the part she has to do to get away from the smoking. It’s all in retraining the brain. I was blessed with a hate hate of the odor. Now I’m disgusted with the odor and it makes me yack if I’m to close to the butt can smell😖🤮. So I will have to help her clean her vehicle .
One more thing, do you have a suggested way to clean your HVAC airway also? Thank you so much.

All the commenters talking about how much you repeat yourself... In today's world it is necessary. Most people don't listen and don't ever hear what you're actually saying. I am an instructor for military men and women, and we repeat 10 to 15 times and they STILL miss test questions. Keep up with what you are doing Scott. I like that you don't use an editing team and a bunch of music etc... You just make videos like real people are doing a job. You keep mistakes in them, you don't edit out anything, and that shows genuineness. Keep it up. Every time I watch a video, I learn a little tidbit that I hadn't thought of, and I have been detailing cars for over 20 years. Most of the things I already know, but it is the little things, like you said, that take you from good to excellent. Thank you!

Exactly right, such as a guy who commented out of exasperation on his carpet cleaning trick (with the blow-gun) and said "okay I get it, Super Clean 2:1, thank you" or words to that effect but in all actuality Scott said 4:1... repetition is a classic training method which has been around for years upon years, nowadays some people are just so impatient that they probably COULDN'T do the meticulous task of detailing BECAUSE they are so impatient! I for one am graciously thankful that Scott provides the information he does! It's a veritable gold mine of information!

Thanks so much for the video, very helpful, informative, and properly cautious. I really appreciate you revealing the secret! I had a question: how come you can use Rapid Remover in the same way, even though their SDS ingredients listed are almost completely different? How do you know it'll have the same effect? Also, is there another chemical available that can be used the same as Citrol and Rapid Remover in these situations to remove heavy smoke odor (that you know of)?

As always great stuff, much appreciated. Looks like Scott never answers the comments so I'll throw it out to anyone with knowledge: in the interest of covering up vs. actually eliminating smoke odor, does Citrol 266 diluted 10-to-1 (or Rapid Remover) leave any scent of its own behind, and if so, does it eventually dissipate, and if so, how long before it does? I need to know these details before using either product and I'll tell you why in a minute. (you know you read this in a heavy Howard Stern accent)

Do you also soak it like you soaked the seat in your video? I have heard that if you put to much liguid on the headliner you can cause the headliner to come loose from the Headliner backboard and start hanging. Would you be able to please provide tips or video on how to properly clean headliner to remove Cigarette smoke. Also if you can recommend the proper cleaner to use on dashboard and Hard plastic to permanently remove smoke odor from car. Really appreciate you taking the time to provide these professional tips to us.

I think what folks r talking about is when u say things 10 to 12 times or when u repeat something several times and say “I’ll talk about that in a minute” each time it’s hard for people like me to keep up. Perhaps a script and if u note too many repetitions cut some of it out. Just a thought. Thanks again

When I had my '05 Monte Carlo, the air freshener I had hanging off of the radio, touched the dash and ate the coating off. 🤬🙁

I use odoban, it's what professional cleaners use to remove smoke smell; I mean fire damage type smoke smells. It's what the pros use in the non car world and less damaging than Citrol. Works amazing, no harm to plastics, and inexpensive. You can get it in box stores, I buy it at home depot, just cut it as instructed as its sold concentrated

Scott, just a few questions. (1) should this be used on interior plastics? (2) what ratio of tap water is best?
    Thank you

I love your voice Scott, keep doing your videos your way and the haters can just go somewhere else. Have you heard of AirVidox Car Odour Eliminator? What is your opinion? We just tried it on my daughter's car tonight but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it worked.

Excellent, highly informative video again Scott. BTW, personally, I hate soft touch plastics since they are a cheap substitute for proper leather wrapped interior pieces. IMO, if it's plastic, be real plastic and don't add some silly and fragile coating that could easily be scrapped off with a crooked fingernail.
What infuriates me even more nowadays is how they are injection molding leather stitch patterns on to obviously cheap and hard plastics. They even have the audacity to sell this obviou fakery as an innovation.
