THANKS. Every time I tried clicking the 3 dots it would just open the books, darn you chubby fingers. The holding-down option is great.

I have the same problem and I'm REALLY frustrated. Even using the Manage Content option on the computer web browser via Amazon isn't solving the issue. My Kindle still shows books that Manage Content shows as not there - AND books my husband has on his Kindle are now appearing on MY Kindle which I don't want. Trying everything to resolve this by playing with the WhisperSync setting (which I had off before) and restarting the device, etc. The Remove from Device is just gone, not available anywhere anymore on any of my books. Starting to think this is a scam to get us to delete books so we have to repurchase them again in the future if we want to re-read them. 😡
I have a Kindle 11th generation and after I read the books I want to remove them from my view.
They are no longer download it but they are still showing.
The only option I have is to add/to/remove from a collection of permanently delete it which intern I would need to purchase again if I wanted to read.
Is there a way to remove it from my library view that I’m just not understanding.
I like the library to show just the ones that I am reading or will be reading soon.
I have the same problem! I just got mine today. So, hopefully I'll get to talk to some techies in person that can help.

It worked right away without even bothering to find out what version I have. The trick was to click on "remove download."
i've run out of space, and want to remove all books from my device (leaving them in my account in the cloud), and just download my collections for now. any advice?

I got , paperwhite signature edition and everything time I try to "permanently delete" an ebook, it shows error. ( the ebooks I have in my library are free that I emailed to my kindle)
I feel the confirmation dialogue should've included some clarification, like whether it removes the book from the account and/or the device.

How does one remove the "River Horses" default audiobook???? The three elipsis only give me the options to mark as unread and download audible.

What’s driving me batty is that I want my wife’s books to not “clutter” my kindle, but don’t want to delete her books from the account. This should be possible, but….is it?

Removing it from your device is the intended functionality. If you want to re-add it to your device, you just re-deliver it in the future. That's basically the design. But removing it PERMANENTLY is different; it means you have to repurchase the item in the future, so don't do that unless you are really done with it forever.

I have a kindle oasis and you said it would work, but no joy . Stupid question but is it because I’m in the U.K. and things take a bit longer to update over here .
My only options for deleting are to permanently delete it. I have 2 kindles. I simply want to remove some books from one of the for now.

Brand new Kindle so latest version. This video does not do what it claims - the book will still show in your library. I’ve restarted it device and it’s still there. Apart from this video being a waste of my time the Amazon platform is laughable too. Maybe mr Bezos should give Mr Gates or Apple a call to enquire how to build a platform that is not ****!
