This apartment is quite cool. In Nairobi the price shifts significantly if the apartment is furnished or not. So looking at the apartment being furnished, the location and the amenities, the price seems reasonable
I discovered you around a month ago, your content is great! Welcome to Nairobi! Your location is also very convenient, next to many malls, clubs and restaurants
the amenities sold it for me. plus you're literally walking distance to anything you need. great restaurants, fantastic clubs, plenty of shopping malls all 5 to 10 minutes away by foot. Its a good deal.

You don't want to compromise on anything like, access to town and all the things around the apartment like malls, restaurants and the like ( that's also why it's that price)

That is a very good deal. It is fully furnished, you have full access to the gym and sauna, 2 bedrooms, in Westlands, it cannot come any cheaper unless it is not furnished.
Apartment is dope. You can move to Lavington and get a fully furnished btwn 800 to 1000 usd depending on the amenities. You can sign up for gym membership at the nearest mall should it not have one. It will give you the chance to meet new people everytime you go for your work out.
That is a good deal comparable to US. It is about the quality and overall standard of living. I measure an apartment by this one question, “will I want my mother to come and live with me in this apartment or home”. If you are happy then the price is right. You may find something cheaper but at what cost.
I think that for all the points you mentioned, the apartment is very affordable. Westlands is a prime location to be in Nairobi, with everything literally like less than 15 mins away from you from office and co-working spaces to restaurants to shopping malls to nightlife and other entertainment. In the US you will pay that amount for less than 10% of everything you're getting so well done on securing such a dope place!

Given the amenities and location, the price really makes sense. Aaand it's furnished. The standard of living in Kenya economically is now equally comparable to Europe. I think it's a great place and the price is actually spot on.
People like saying this but it's not true, you can get a spacious unfurnished apartment with all the amenities you need and then some in Nairobi for even $1000 a month while in Europe a similar apartment that is smaller with not even half the amenities may cost you as high as $3500+. You won't get an apartment like the one Julian is living in at that price anywhere in Europe all things considered. In most European cities, for a little under $1000 you get an apartment the size of the average bed sitter in Kenya. You should see the ones in Paris & London especially.
@@thorfinn7291 spot on. She is exaggerating, no way the standard of living is comparable to that of Europe. It would probably cost half the price of this apartment to around a $1000. But cities/countries are different and have their reasons for charging the way they do. Such prices may not be targeted at locals but i may be wrong.

I don't know about whether you got a good deal on it in terms of Nairobi, but I do know that in Oregon you wouldn't get anything with all those amenities for that price.
That is a great deal. I would gave guessed 2.5k. The amenities are amazing. Westlands Is the place to be and be seen. Excellent choice. Even for that area that is a fantastic deal for a furnished 2b apartment. If you consider that the furnishing would be $500/month then you got a steal!

Hey Julian
Your apt is FAB! Love it!💋
You’re doing your thing & I love it
Will be in Kenya in August 2022🙌🏿
Karibu Kenya 🇰🇪
Welcome
Nice Tour, I work in the adjacent building n I can't wait to chill in one of these apartments one day ...
For Westlands I’d say it’s a good deal for a 2 bedroom fully furnished will all amenities and utilities but I’d suggest you check out other areas with equal standards of amenities in the Kileleshwa, Kilimani and Lavington area
Yes, I recently went to Lavington and I like the area a lot
I knew this was Westlands...very nice
Go for dinner at the movenpick rooftop rotating restaurant. The views will blow your mind
Definitely there next month...😊
@Julian Albino The price is just about right for that area of Westlands considering the type of building, amenities & services offered...thats about 52USD a day. Property in Westlands ain't cheap.
Awesome apartment! Safety first always. Terrific amenities! Love the bathroom lights and the bathroom tile--which I think was repeated elsewhere in the building. Very trendy. I also loved the tile rooftops! I don't know about whether you got a good deal on it in terms of Nairobi, but I do know that in Oregon you wouldn't get anything with all those amenities for that price.
I'm Kenyan. Price is reasonable indeed for all the reasons you have stated.
I say stay where you're safe but, still be aware of your surroundings and long as you're happy it's good.
The view is therapeutic
It’s a lovely apartment but to me as a South African, it’s expensive for what you get. You’d get it almost half the price in SA for similar type of amenities& finishes in cities like Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. Love the views from the pool area👌🏼 Great seeing you adapt& settle into yet another city; you’re a chameleon Julian
Except he's not in SA now so it's like comparing apples to pears...
Rosebank trywitt rental starts at R20k unfurnished for 2bed 2.5bath. I've seen one for R30k
Thandisile C..You would get it for half of that in a decent part in South Africa, fully furnished apartment with all those amenities?🤔🙄
Differences in supply and demand will always dictate price in any country. Consider factors like location within the city.
@@theglen85 Obviously you ain't Kenyan. I am. He got taken
Glad you settled bro and are happy with the new apt.
However I'm paying nobody that price! Not in Nairobi, its way overboard. Yes, given the amenities and all.
The fact I'm seeing people compare the prices with the US? 😃
Now that's a good deal. Really good deal.
for apartments like this you can get between $900-$1100 USD. You don't need to be in westlands, you could find something in Lavington, Kilimani or Kileleshwa at a better price and still safe
