    I got rid of my short shots for the new Vance and Hines Stainless 2-1 on my 2018 Sportster and the power, sound, looks and functionality of the exhaust are amazing. Lots and lots of people compliment the exhaust! I had forward controls when I installed it at the beginning of April and the kit came with a forward control relocation bracket to make it fit with forward controls. I have since put mids on the bike and it looks even better than it did with the mids! I highly suggest this exhaust to anyone that wants a good looking, sounding, and performing 2-1!

      Hi. It's probably a silly question, but is a 2-1 exhaust better in performance than a straight pipe?

    Hey man I really enjoy your videos, always super informative and well made. I just ordered this exhaust for my 2020 Fat Bob that I am getting a stage II cam torque tune done on through HD. I want to make sure the FP3 will work for that. I ordered an FP4 the other day and then realized it was only compatible with stage 1. Thanks

    Most Fat Bob 114 systems also fit the FXDR...after watching this video, looks like this should fit fine. Wish me luck i guess.

    Hey! Awesome video! I have short shots and a intake I need to tune the bike. Harley dealers seems to think I should get a tune and everything. I was thinking to go with a FP3 since I want a 2-1 next year. How good are those ? are they precise enough or I should get a tuning ?

    • @jonnymac8925
      @jonnymac8925 4 года назад +1

      If you only have the short shots and intake then the FP3 is an amazing tuner. I ran an intake and short shots with my FP3 and it worked very, very well. I have since installed this exact same exhaust and I love it. If you run just intake and exhaust it may seem like it is working fine but the reality is the stock tune is very lean for emissions reasons so running aftermarket intake and exhaust without a proper tune causes over heating and causes the bike to run extremely lean. 110% get a tuner, and the FP3 is a very user friendly tuner and can do lots of other really cool stuff too! Dyno tuning it is not necessary with an intake and exhaust. The tuner has that covered but when you get into big bores and big cams a dyno tune would be beneficial but for an intake and exhaust a dyno tune is not needed. I hope this helps!

      Jonny Mac amazing thank you !! My 883 have been converted to 1200 before I got it I assume the tune have been done at the same time (hopefully)

      @@NoXQc by any chance do you know where the bike redlines? Stock should be at 6000rpm, and if they tuned it after the work was done it should be around 6800rpm. That is one way to find out! Sometimes they base tune stuff, I had a tune on my bike and didn't know until I purchased an FP3. Mind you, the tune they put on it was more of a safety tune for my exhaust and intake and had no tuneability. The FP3 has made life great haha

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  4 года назад

      It's pretty simple (and in the instructions). There is a spacer in the kit, you pull off the 2 screws that hold the mid-control on, put the spacer behind the control and use the 2 longer screws provided to reattach .

      because the new pipes are more free flowing which disrupts the correct amount of air/fuel ratio. The ECU on your bike doesnt know that you went out, bought new pipes, came home and installed them because your bike is not a hooMan. All it knows is what we tell it to know. SO... we need to tune the ECU to add or take away the amount of fuel it squirts into the engine's combustion chamber to make the bike run more efficiently. You dont have to tune your bike, but problems may arise... or it may not, it depends on the combination. Tune the bike if you want an optimum setup to harvest POWER... if you dont want to tune then your probably looking for looks and sound - just get slipons.

  • @livetubing

    I understand it’s not ideal but does it hurt the bike to run it without a tune?

    • @zacharyryan3991
      @zacharyryan3991 Год назад

      According to DK Performance… it does not for a M8. From the factory, the M8 is not so lean that it would need a tune.

      Whenever you change your bike ‘s exhaust (not just mufflers) or/and the air cleaner, you are going to need a tuner. Short answer YES you will need a tuner :)

    • @jonnymac8925
      @jonnymac8925 4 года назад

      The first mod you should do before intake and exhaust is a tuner, the intake and exhaust should come after that. They run lean from the factory for emissions, so any changes to air and fuel need a tuner. It may seem like it is running fine without one, but it isn't.
