0:30 You know it's 25,000 miles around the world. And you claim to have nearly circled the globe twice on that thing? That's one helluva' sales pitch baby.
My last three motorcycles had a combined total of almost 160,000 miles on 'em when I sold 'em/traded 'em in. I know I'm a dude, so it's not as impressive! 😉
Bless you for showing the different foot positions. I am 6'6" (2 meters) tall have ridden a full-blown HD Bagger for years... as it is what fits me. I've done the same on my rides forever.
Respected madam , what I like most on your channel is ,, there doesn't comes any RUclips ads,, and second is your genuineness and third is your love for bikes and ride.
i been ridin for 53 years an im a lady--started with sporty to superglide to low rider to softail custom to heritage ( 2002 shes now 20 years old) ive wracked up over 300,000 miles --you go girl and BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!! wish you the best! im 70 now an dont plan on quitting yet!
You're not first saying that haha Gladly this time nothing hit us. Once a lorry in London drove on me like that. Ended up light, thankfully, with a snapped clutch lever only.
Nice one. I suggest two more mods: 1) rear shock too long. find one at 11.5 inch will be cooler. 2) the rear tyre, if you want go fatter, you can find a 2017 Dyna fatbob rear rim. turn around, fit the tyre (shinko 777 170/70/16). it's straight-in.
My first motorcycle was a Harley Davidson and I'm a fan of the 883 Sportster. I'm into bikes between 250 and 1000ccs. I also like Indian, Ducati, Janus and Yamaha.
I think your version looks better than the original, so congrats, Imo you chose the right things to change, you made your motorcycle look more beautiful than it already was.
Thank you for this. I just bought an 883 from Maidstone HD in Kent. It's an anniversary model so I won't be adding too much to it but some of your modifications are excellent and will be considering them. Your 45k mile experience is so wowzer. Thank you for all the tips. Will watch for more. See you out there. 🏁
I loved you talking about standing up on the pegs to give your backside a break - and putting your feet on the rears and riding from the rear seat for a stretch! I've done the same thing on my HD touring bikes for years - I can get away with that on the big bikes - I'm 6'5" tall (nearly 2 meters). Love your vids and keep riding! 👍
I'm off to Black Bear (Newmarket Harley) tomorrow morning to look for an 883 Iron. I literally stumbled over this video, but it's been so informative. Keep safe and well.
@@tomboyabit it really is huh. I had a deposit on a Breakout a year or so ago but really didn't like it once I'd ridden it........ I'll keep you posted
Wife had a 48, I must say I borrowed it many times, it was a blast to ride. (I had a softail and a low rider S) When we return from our sailing adventures I want to buy a roadster
Thanks for sharing, sparrow is looking good, as a recommendation I would have a mural of a sparrow with diamond , on front and back fenders raised as badges in silver
Love the sound of your bike. Chatted to a Harley owner three weeks ago at Middleton Top, Derbyshire, UK, and his was deep copper coloured paintwork with loads of chrome. 👍
Completely logical and thoughtful. Very helpful and wise. After I finish restoring my '70 Sportster 883/1000 which I want only for local traveling here in Southern California where I live, I will be driving a 2016 very much like yours up and down the California coast and places inland, and will take your ideas in this and your other videos very much to heart. Thank you so much~~
Not a Harley guy but that’s a cool bike, nice mods and an epic sound 😎 it’s great when you have a bike you’ve gelled with and covered so many miles ( noticed you’ve ridden over my patch in the Peak District ) Another great upload 👍🏻 Ps. Chopping the fender might mean a wet back on the horrible rainy British days but interested to see what you do next with Sparrow, ride safe!
Hello Diamond, I am glad to have found your channel and for some reason it's very hard not to watch you in your videos. I have a 2006 Roadster 1200r that I still ride @ 71 years old. I love girls and motorcycles.!
Sporty's are great bikes. Lots of around-town fun. I only kept mine for about 2 months and then got a Low Rider S. But sometimes I still miss my Sporty. Nice bike!
Beautiful bike! I don't know if they fit those wheels but the grippiest all weather tyre in the world and winner of 'Best cross country tyre' many years in a row in Germany is the Continental Road Attack 3. Even on the wettest day it displaces water faster than any tyre on Earth and grips like the "proverbial" to a blanket. Most confidence inspiring tyre I have ever ridden on. Put them on my Ducati Hypermotard and just loved them. Also lasts very well.
I bought the 883 ($3,500) when it came out in 1986, one year later I traded it for a Low Rider and made $500 on the trade because the value had gone up. 5 years later I traded for the Electra Glide and made $800 more then I paid.. I wish I had stayed w/ the Low Rider, it was more fun to ride and plenty of power.. I sold the Electra Glide for $1000 less then I paid, so for 8 years I rode for free !
Had that same bike as my first. I found it unpleasant to ride at highway speeds (70+ mph of air trying to push me off the back and the front tire feels like it's barely staying on the ground), so to hear how much touring you've done on it, all I can say is you have more guts than I! Also, had the same problem you mentioned of the rear spinning out going through a roundabout, even at a slow speed.
Ouri grips, everyone's favorite, lower the tank back... Maybe something shapier with nice black gloss and semi matte design. Certainly a bike down with practical taste! 👍
i thoroughly enjoyed that video! very nice not so subtle mods look really good. maybe i'll be inspired to make a vid of my own dear Sporty one of these days..

I like the English bikes and KTM but you have made that a perfect motorcycle I would buy. The exhaust and seat are perfect for that bike in my opinion.
0:30 You know it's 25,000 miles around the world. And you claim to have nearly circled the globe twice on that thing? That's one helluva' sales pitch baby.
Haha I was actually tempted to go around the world on it. Just being a mother comes first! I say everything is possible if you believe it is.
Actually, she does not claim to have circled anything nearly twice only that she has 45,000 miles on the bike.

My 05 XL1200 Custom ran well over 100,000 miles without ever leaving me stranded. Sportsters are awesome.
For me the Sportster is the best modern Harley made.
I do absolutely, totally agree with you!!
