I’m a couturier and I take around 180+ measurements of my clients. Everything is measured from the nipple width to the distance from wrist bone to finger joints etc. I take anywhere from months to years and everything is done by me by hand. I source the best not the cheapest and I run EVERYTHING by the client. Christine is a dream client.

I saw a few people comment already, but getting custom-made outfits is still a norm in Southern India. Often when going to the shops they will show you fabric pieces for a certain type of outfit ( saree, chuthithar, skirt + blouse, etc) and then you take it to the seamstresses (they're everywhere) to be cut and stitched to your specific measurements. Admittedly, the skill and reliability of the seamstresses depend on how long they've been in the business. Still, shop recommendations come from our many family members and other close-knit members from the surrounding community so the shops always strive to do well.

But the moments when you find people who share stories of being supported and cared for are surprisingly healing. There may be tears but it’s like that experience can be yours too. It does not matter if it’s a couture dress or someone making you a cup of tea. It’s the moment when someone saw you in pain and let you know you were not alone in your suffering.

My mom and I sew clothes together. And I agree there is nothing better than clothes that actually fit. Imagine the simplicity of your sleeves being long enough and your cuff fitting your wrist perfectly. Your clothes are always the right length. And you can add any embellishments that you want. You just have freedom and it's cheaper then buying because you have control of the fabric. There's some expensive clothes made out of cheap fabric. But imagine if you can get the same style with quality fabric that lasts. So from year to year your collection grows. You carefully make decisions so your wardrobe is timeless. People think you're spending a lot of money but you're actually spending less than they do.
I'm about to do a linen wardrobe. Full of custom dye work an embroidery. Might even bring light reactive dyes to the mix and make shadow art.

Tailors and seamstress do exist outside of haute couture and yes people are not paying millions of dollars to have a garment tailored to fit them. What I love about haute couture are the beading and stone work details. Additional, when they play with unconventional materials and make it seem like fabric. Basic tailoring not so much.

I surprised myself - hadn’t expected to enjoy this video so much … or at all to be honest! I thought it would be another brash overhyped celebrity with more money than sensibility … how wrong I was. Such interesting insights into the world of a contemporary courture client. Thank you!

The Dolce and Gabbana show was at the Montreale Cathedral, which is breathtaking (I visited it a few years ago), and it's actually a mix of different styles that reflects Sicily agitated History : Roman (from French Normandie), Byzantine, baroque and a touch of Moorish.

It was a joy watching you get all giddy at this amazing wardrobe after seeing your disappointment in so many red carpet reviews.
One day, one day, I will have a pair of bespoke shoes. Nothing fits, all shoes hurt, and to even imagine feeling comfortable in some beautiful, perfectly fitted footwear is well out of my reach. One day, though..

I thought I recognized that D&G piece from the Heavenly Bodies exhibit! I swear, HB is still one of my favorite Costume Institute exhibits. Anyway, Christine is honestly so fun when it comes to fashion because she's one of the few socialites who is a true client of haute couture and fully understands and loves each piece.

Could you imagine seeing a peak of Daphne Guiness' closet? Margherita Missoni? Poppy Delevigne? Ivanka Trump? Chloe Sivengy? Coco Rocha? Kate Moss? Christie, Naomi, Iman? Or a designer OG like Vera Wang, Donatella Versace, Muccia Prada? Ugh I couldn't even imagine how magical their closets and archives must be. Or any princess or long respected family name socialite from Asia.
Also, would be interested in seeing a closet tour of a man!!!! A male designer or fashion client. A prince, a stylist, influencer, actor, philanthropist, dancer, critic, etc. Maybe you can produce your own series!!!! I think you could get some great people that would love to talk fashion, show off their beloved pieces, and help your career. Just saying.. youre welcome btw. Dont forget your subs that have been here for a long time and truly are grateful for you and your hard work. Hope you make all your dreams come true!

Also, pretty sure make-up artists would likely have cool wardrobes. Depending on who, a lot of them seem to have a strong style, they are tight with famous clients, rub shoulders with so many people, are on set a lot, and probably have access to some really neat pieces.

Better help is a horrible company. Known for conversion therapy, unlicensed therapists and overall terrible treatment of clients. I see they now include a “we only hire licensed therapists” in the ad read… interesting. This has been known for years, they’ve been publicly called out many times by many people for YEARS. I’m sorry but you should be a little more responsible with your sponsorship choices as your audience includes a lot of lgbtq+ people.

I call total BS on her excuse of wearing a risqué dress to Buckingham Palace. So what if her dress got held up at customs? You’re telling me she couldn’t have got her “like family” contacts at Chanel or another brand to get her another dress from one of the London stores? There is no rule that said she HAD to wear couture, and to go into Buckingham Palace in a dress that you know flouts the dress code is just plain rude. To be honest it shows exactly how nouveau-riche she is that she would rather disrespect another country’s culture and her host’s requests to satisfy her own vanity.
