He is so humble when he says that it's the first time his show went viral. Mr. Galliano, your shows WERE viral every season at DIOR. You have created art on the runway that was never been done before.
Yes Galliano went viral at Dior… but that was fashion world viral. This is the first time anyone has gone viral for people that may have at most a passing interest in fashion.
I love Galliano as a designer but this is the first time I searched out a whole runway show to watch. And I know I wasn’t the only one. This show was a turning point in the way the fashion world interacts with the culture as a whole.

One thing's for sure, Pat McGrath has always been and will forever be THAT makeup artist. She's simply brilliant. She broke the internet with those looks.
She has been one of the best since the 90s, the early 2000s with John and until now. And John? He is such a visionary!

we are finally getting to appreciate amazing couture, on the moment! I remember being 16 on 2016 watching the Dior 2004 Spring Couture show, dreaming of witnessing a show as spectacular and wonderful as this show was 🥹💘
someone finally gave us genuine diversity that everyone was able to relate to, enhancing individual beauty is what sold us that this was meant to showcase our world. the makeup looks were made out of re-embraced antiquity of doll faces because everyone wants to also feel like their own unique doll

There is no doubt John Galliano reignited the fashion world, seriously one of the most amazing shows. It goes to show you don’t need a budget like Chanel’s to get attention.

Also, keep in mind that this is an artisanal collection, Margiela also releases "wearable" garments for people to buy and can actually wear in a daily basis.

There is something about Galliano that is so special....when he speaks he is visualizing everything he says ... he's creating instantly and constantly...he's not with us....he's with himself and his incredible imagination and talent.

Totally agree. Kidman's actual dress was on display at a Dior exhibit in NYC. Up close it's STUNNING! Even better than in photos. The detail is off the charts.

He went through a troubled time. I think he was humbled by it, and has redeemed himself. His body language is open. And vulnerable. This is a great sign of spiritual growth.

there’s a reason why John and Pat are icons, they have birthed together the most beautiful fashion images of the last 30 years, they conveyed beauty in a way that has been done before, their influence is far reaching in the world
I’m a very casual fan of fashion… on the periphery really, but when I swiped and saw the footage of Gwendoline posing in that dark room… tall, big hipped, porcelain and eerily brooding, I literally got chills and had to know more. I’ve never had chills over fashion in my life, but this was something I’d never seen before and felt like a new vision. I think it should be a clarion call to fashion designers that you can elevate ALL body types through fashion, and we’re missing out by not using the gamut of bodies that exist in the world.
Pat needs to be acknowledged as, idk, a sort of second designer of this show.
Her porcelain skin became one of the signature elements.
No matter what people might say about John with all his scandals, we must admit he is a true GRNIUS!! one of kind in our generation.

That’s why Galliano is a master. And what we saw in 2024 was routine when he was at Dior. One show more spectacular than the previous. His Gueixa and Egyptian collections are some of my favourites. He and Patt are the dream team. And Gwendoline? A true goddess❤
this collection transcends the word viral in so many ways and so beyond that the word looks so tiny next to it, the whole thing is genuinely a masterpiece

As a designer myself, it is was ABSOLUTELY wonderful too see! its art and couture in its highest form and you can hear the passion in everyone's voices when they talk about the show and it made me emotional!
I remember working the VH1 awards in Madison Square Garden and seeing Gaulthier at the snack table. I almost passed out as I was huge fan and studying fashion design at the time. I know Galliano is different.

I’ve been a collector of porcelain dolls since I was 6. My grandma had a very large collection and would gift me one every time I’d visit her because she could see how enamoured I was with them. That is why this is my absolute favorite fashion show, just so beautiful and unique. I love it!

In the 90s when I was a fashion college I wrote my final dissertation about John Galliano and his first collection for Dior, harking back to the New Look, bringing it into the modern day. Such a beautiful collection (and I got a distinction yay!).

Agreed. The makeup compliments the fashion. So many are obsessed by makeup that they have missed the main event. People actually don’t understand the makeup of clothing anymore. There is so little depth to design in general; and by that I mean structural as well as deeply intelligent; that he trade is lost, actually. Most just think of the quality of the eras past or not at all.
