Thanks for the video. I guess the metal ring bit on the older remote does the same job as the protruding bit on the newer remote. I was wondering if the old remote would fit on a newer iPod but seems not. There's still the FM radio remote that plugs into the dock connector. That one works on my 5th gen iPod video just fine.
