I'll tell you why they can't get the font right, even though it's free, cause I've used it before making concept images. For whatever reason, every version of Myriad Pro or it's other variations, whether it's in bold, light, medium, or any other spectrum, depending on what program you're using, the letters are spaced too far apart. So unless you're really meticulous to detail, and select each letter individually and manually drag them closer to one another, everything's gonna be spaced out. I tried in multiple programs and though the quality varies, they're almost always improperly spaced. Of course I did this all on a Windows computer, maybe it's actually accurate if you use it on a Macbook or something. Clearly the person/people making these phonies is just half assing it, which is no surprise seeing as it's already a scam. The guy couldn't even be assed to use non JPEGGED images lol.
@@ZugTheDragon It's been a while since I left this comment, and I have learned since then that you can adjust the kerning, but once again, I've tried doing this in multiple programs, including Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Paintshop Pro, etc, all with varying degrees of success. A lot of times the spacing is still "slightly" off, or it'll be perfect for a few letters but off for another one, it's very inconsistent. Sure you could argue that they should've just used the kerning option at all to close up the spacing and not worry about whether or not it was slightly off, but that's assuming they even knew that kerning was an option. These guys probably don't even know what kerning means. The point still stands that they went with the default that most of these fonts are set at, which are spaced far apart, because clearly they were rushing it out the door. I feel like the only way you're gonna get the true blue spacing is to be doing this on a Mac itself, which I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say they don't have.

Suddenly I didn't have to pick and choose which songs I carry around, just sync the entire library. Including videos! The size isn't anything special anymore with today's phones, but on the other hand, you can flash mod the iPods and put some TB of music on there. Honestly, they probably would have been better off selling them as “decent quality used” than brand new considered how hard the Apple box is to emulate perfectly. They look so simple and so simple to open but it’s something with more than enough engineering behind it.
I'm honestly sorta tempted tbh, if I could replace the back and front with better quality parts, wouldn't it just be a normal iPod in that case given than the internals are exactly the same? This would be one of the cheapest ways to get get an older iPod and I think it would be cool to own.
Yes but also no, because it’s not actually that cheap. If you are going to be replacing the parts you may as well get a bad condition iPod for cheaper and then replace it
This reminds me of those "ipods" they give away as prizes at like car dealerships when they need people to walk in the door. Those make the Lego one you look at seem decent half the time btw.
Thanks for making this video. I was actually like 2 days away from buying one of these myself, I had my suspicions but I miss my 5th gen so much that I was kinda blinded by the Nostalgia
4:04 This is actually Apple's fault, they are *technically* getting it right. The issue is that Apple changed the logo in 2017 for the 6th gen Touch, so when they go to grab the iPod logo online, they end up grabbing that logo instead of the one used prior. Edit: They may even be recreating the logo from scratch using the right font, just realized that the 2017 logo is the result of Apple switching from a modified P to the normal P contained in the font
I thought it was an iBook, but they are fairly similar. I suspect that the differences in the instructions are more due to either the revision or market that the photocopy's original came from.

But most programs do allow you to change text spacing in text options... So it doesn't really make sense to me
@@ZugTheDragon It's been a while since I left this comment, and I have learned since then that you can adjust the kerning, but once again, I've tried doing this in multiple programs, including Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Paintshop Pro, etc, all with varying degrees of success.
I feel like the only way you're gonna get the true blue spacing is to be doing this on a Mac itself, which I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say they don't have.
damn you've still got those little legos on the table. I'm noticing details like this, its time to subscribe already.
All the things that appeared in the past videos will have their piece showcased at the table along with 1 grit

God this is so interesting, I saw the raycon vid and i kept watching and wow. I didn't know there was a whole group of iPod collectors. That's so cool! Thanks for introducing me to this stuff

Studying the box and the shitty battery life
So, you've been listening to a fake iPod for 4 years and this video is what finally let the cat out of the bag? You may wanna keep that under your hat. (The story, not the fakepod).
I mean, if it works and you were still okay with it the last years, then this won't change it.
@@petrescuework-difficultcas6581 you’re right, but it just does make sense why the battery only lasts 5 minutes after only a year of use, it was always really slow too, I did like it during its time though. I’m just a big Apple type beat guy
1:48 absolute madlad moment
Absolute truth, imagine if someone gave you 4 iPhones? How would you even react?
"If it sounds too good to be true, it is."
Words from a high school econ teacher that I'll always remember. And I didn't even like the guy. Good teacher, but a total tool for several other reasons. But when you're right, you're right. And he was on-point on that.
Was anyone else impressed by the amount of work they put in to replicate the iPod?
"The Heartbreak of 50 People" sounds like the name of an album.
I used the classic through my entire teen years because it was the only iPod that had the space for the amount of music I have. I was so bummed that I couldn’t use Apple Music with it.
I'm 29 and really just assumed people still used iPods regularly. Your channel is an eye opener! I've been carrying around music on various iPods since 2005 and I couldn't imagine myself without that source of offline music playback. I had an iPod as a teen before my parents had a home computer! Lol. The days of taking your iPod around to friends houses and getting them to fill them up.. Good times? Yeah good times.
Those 10/20/30/60/80 GB were absolutely massive back then. I remember going to a 60GB 5th gen from a typical 256 MB nugget player. Suddenly I didn't have to pick and choose which songs I carry around, just sync the entire library. Including videos!
The size isn't anything special anymore with today's phones, but on the other hand, you can flash mod the iPods and put some TB of music on there. So they're still miles ahead in terms of music storage compared to all other nuggets.
Right! I’ve just started using the iPod nano I’ve had for about 10yrs , the battery life can be a bit finicky but with enough love it works like brand new!

9:23 - "I think" I was honestly expecting to hear "somebody's been here"
That accidental face reveal with the shiny back lol
On his channel Dankmus he does streams frequently where he reveals his face, and on his video where he discusses his experiences with RUclips he directly addressed the camera
@@nwojdak what? no he doesn't I've been subbed since like 300 and he's never livestreamed
@@ethand4784 On his channel page, under the community tab, he has quite a few posts where he talks about streams. He usually shows him making his remixes, but he's done others, like where he played the drums.

Hey mate, love the video and videos. Your actually the most entertaining person I’ve found on RUclips in ages haha, most Aussie’s are are anyway can’t wait to see what eBay shipping throws at you soon 👍
As soon as he said "battery" my earbuds gave the "low battery" alert.
5:42 My best guess from the stand point of somone who has designed professional style boxes and gibbons, this was made poorly in house, the whole thing is like you said with old pod new body, I think they have a “”””decent”””” scan of a real box that was ripped apart and measured, then they scanned it to get the photos (hence the crunchy) it’s def not done on a small scale and I would say these guys are not just doing this to ipods
3:21 alright let's get in here mate lol 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mauro Vales those details make his videos a lot better
@@carlosmntr agreed
Honestly, they probably would have been better off selling them as “decent quality used” than brand new considered how hard the Apple box is to emulate perfectly. They look so simple and so simple to open but it’s something with more than enough engineering behind it.
9:05 my 50cc scooter coldstart sound :D
Why are you complaining? The JPG Image of Jack Sparrow already told you, that the resolution is gonna get donkey
the fake ones just a box of dirt
I'm honestly sorta tempted tbh, if I could replace the back and front with better quality parts, wouldn't it just be a normal iPod in that case given than the internals are exactly the same?
This would be one of the cheapest ways to get get an older iPod and I think it would be cool to own.
Yes but also no, because it’s not actually that cheap. If you are going to be replacing the parts you may as well get a bad condition iPod for cheaper and then replace it
2:11 "I'm gonna be all wooohhh yeah cool *inhales* well uh heh"

It's that Makpto Naegi in your profile picture
This reminds me of those "ipods" they give away as prizes at like car dealerships when they need people to walk in the door. Those make the Lego one you look at seem decent half the time btw.
Thanks for making this video. I was actually like 2 days away from buying one of these myself, I had my suspicions but I miss my 5th gen so much that I was kinda blinded by the Nostalgia
8:17 - "Dirty Sounding Headphone Jack!" I like that.
When the TF2 administrator starts selling "sealed" iPods:
(in character tbh)
I know like 10 words in chinese and 的 is one of them, its to show ownership, it is like 's for english. So it's "Administrator's iPod" :D

4:34 that looks like a 12" powerbook g4 to me
I thought it was an iBook, but they are fairly similar. I suspect that the differences in the instructions are more due to either the revision or market that the photocopy's original came from.
@@johnruschmeyer5769 maybe I jumped to the powerbook because I have more nostalgia for them compared to iBooks.
