Because he was in nerd logistic hell. If he just bite her and drank her he would have like 3-5 seconds before everyone realized what he was doing. Honestly much less time but that’s his estimation. So he couldn’t have enjoyed it. So he would need to kill the kids first and then have time with the blood because apparently if her blood cooled it wouldn’t taste as good. So he was trying to figure out the best way to get as much time with her as possible but also not expose them. Of course his dumbass didn’t consider killing 20 ppl in a room would be a big ass reveal all it’s own. He just eventually worked out waiting was better
Reading them simultaneously is the best way to read Twilight. I love how Edward tries to scare everyone away all the time with his predator teeth and thinks that he succeed when he hear there pulse rasing, then you read the chapter in the other book and learn that they are totally swooning over him. XD Hilarious!

If for me the whole concept and the story was old, my mind did not process that I had read it online and never in physical form. It almost felt like a kind of dejavu
No she got upset and stopped writing it and apparently posted but an unfinished raw material. She said maybe she would go back to writing it and will someday finish but because of the leakage her inspiration kinda expired and she doesnt know what to do with it.
