Where can i find the tab for this song to practice the solos? can anyone help?
This is someone that understands the “practical guitar player” and how to get some of these ideas down. Very well done
I keep coming back, this is one of the best country lessons I have ever seen - right into the heart of that country sound! Awesome - I am starting to get the flavor fever
Thanks for the feedback Karl, glad you’re finding this stuff helpful.
Agreed. This lesson is brilliant. It covers so much territory, so many great ideas all in about 20 minutes. I call that great.
I wish you had a tip jar which other RUclipsrs have. 😊
Brilliant Steve ! A lesson for all levels and quite inspirational! 🏴
Love your takes on this song. I’ll play around with it and make it my own.
this is great - just what i needed-Nice Job!!!
Absolutely awesome Steven!! Thanks for your insight and inspiration to keep learning more👊
Thanks Larry!
Brilliant! I’ve learnt more in 20min about blues/country soloing than I have in the last year! Well done 👍🏻😎
You're teaching more than just the solo. I appreciate your explanation about the concepts like mixing major and minor that I can use to become a better guitar player. Thanks!
Thanks Matt, I try to base lessons off of how I would have wanted to learn them, glad it can be helpful!
Truly brilliant, something to suit everyone
Thank you !!! A great lesson ! Love it! I’m an intermediate level player trying to level up. Exactly what I need. 😊
Superb, thanks Steve
Great lesson. A couple of breakthrough moments in here for me. Subscribed and please carry on what you're doing
Neil thanks for the feedback! Love to see comments like this, so glad people find this stuff helpful 👍
why does everyone play this in E? We play it in F like Johnny ! LOL Nice licks my friend great country feel and tone ! Keep up the great work !
Hi Steven, First of all, thank you. Wow, you are a wonderful inspiration to some of us who are struggling to get to somewhere close to that mountain. I hope you don't mind but I shared your video to my email. I see now my next 2 years laid out for me. I am gonna take it one step at a time and work through your on-screen tabs. And listen and watch your videos so many time until I can get to somewhere . Of course I may die trying. Thanks again for a great lesson on a great old country standard. May God bless you for your kind generosity.
Jackie, thank you for your kind comment! Keep plugging away, none of this happens overnight!
Awesome lesson! Fits my learning style and thought process more than anything I've seen
Thanks Tom, glad you found it helpful!
Back again, thank you very much, this really is a great way to break from rock to country and getting that hot southern bbq flavor!
Thanks Karl!
Great lesson demo! Time for me to get more creative. Thanks for the inspiration Steven
You bet Igor!

Thanks Justin!
Excellent teaching style and format. Thanks man
Thanks Paul!
Good playing; good lesson. Thank you. But, if I never again have to hear "play around with it; make it your own" I tell you my life will have been worth living.
That’s what she said
Amazing video, bro! Right to the point and nice ideas for the song :)
Thank you! 🙏
Excellent lesson Steven. Really loved the level 4 solo. Definitely going to learn that. Subscribed. All the best from the UK. Cheers.

Thanks for the comment Andrew! Glad people are finding this stuff helpful.
Great lesson! Greetings from Germany
Thank you! Hoping to have more lessons like this posted in the near future
this lesson alone, not sure how you don't have at least 25K subs....unreal knowledge to the song....great lesson
Thanks man, really appreciate that. Maybe someday I’ll hit 25K! I just need to start posting more…🤷♂️
The part where you show the bend in the minor and then the bend in the major in the same key but sounding different was very helpful
I love the tone of your tele, proper tale sound.
Thank you 🙏
Level 4!! Maybe 6 😂. Made me grin when you did it 👏🙏 Good on you Steve!
Awesome lesson!!! Thank you
Thanks!
Metal guy here, not sure why I stopped but glad I did. Thanks for the inspiration, I’m intrigued by this kind of soloing. I’m excited to try some of this.
Thanks man! Appreciate you dropping in. Go check out Eric Woolard on RUclips. He’s a “metal guy turned country” plays country guitar with a certain aggressiveness that’s super badass. Also would recommend anything by Johnny Hiland. More of a traditional country player but you can definitely tell he has rock influences in his playing 🤘
Great lesson man! Good job.
Thanks Jeremy!
Fantastic Steve
Regards
Dave from Scotland
Thanks David!
Great job. New sub. Thanks.
Thank you for the sub, if you found this helpful I just posted another video in a similar theme about soloing using major and minor pentatonics!

Very good thanks
Thank you Frank!
Hi Steven, that was awesome, very inspiring for learners like myself. Please try to do a lesson on the intro/solo of 'Your Man' by Josh Turner, with tabs if possible.
Cheers. Burle
Boost the drum track and get deep in the pocket. This has to be played with the right feel. 👍
Funny you mention that, this track has bugged me for awhile now…I almost feel like I’m playing over the off beat.
@@stevetharms Timing and feel are more important than note choice and speed
really good keep going
thanks, I'm going to!
Steve, I stumbled upon your channel just a day or two ago, and I have to say I have learned more from one or two of your videos than I have from dozens of other people’s. Thank you for such clear and practical guidance!
Is there any way to potentially get a pdf of the Tab you show here and there throughout the video? Do you have a Patreon account/site?
thanks
Yes
Great lesson thanks very much, loved the solo. Can I ask what model telecaster that is looks and sounds superb. Cheers
Thanks Andrew. It’s a mid 90’s era Mexican tele. Everything is stock to my knowledge, I’ve had it for about 5 years.
Hey! Thanks very much for the Level 2 Tab, Steve Harms. I enjoyed listening to your Level 4 playing - which could come later if I practise every day for the next five years! Regards from Blighty :). Out of interest - is the gentleman who does Swift Guitar Lessons on RUclips related?
Ted thanks for the comment! Stay consistent with your playing and you’ll be doing level 4 in no time! And no, I am not related to the guy from swift guitar, he has a great channel though!
I love it..awesome lesson...one question ...the jam track your playing over ...can I get it from you.
James, I’m honestly not sure I kept the tracks from this video, I normally delete the audio files once I’m done to clear up space on my hard drive. Here’s a link though to a backing track for Folsom prison blues!

Are there tabs for this whole lesson?
Any advice on how to get the right tone?
Teles are normally considered the standard when playing this style but really any Single coil bridge pickup will work. Amp on the edge of break up or a clean amp with a tiny bit of overdrive. To really solidify it add a compressor and some slap back delay and you should be good to go 👍
Country
Too long getting to the point, it got boring.
