im no hardcore eminem fan but im pretty sure many of eminem's classics were him throwing shade at other celebrities
That's pretty much it. He battle rapped and was notorious for diss tracks and ending people
The hit "real slim shady" threw shade at celebs and I still listen to that. Hell, I still listen to quitter, nail in the coffin and bully. All of which are great songs and diss tracks.
eminem hasn’t changed at all. the only difference is that he’s gotten faster and grown towards more trap beats. he’s always taken jabs at rappers and politicians. his lyrical content has not changed at all
100th like
Brayden well yeah, but that's unfair. nowadays EVERYONE is being called out all the time.
In Venom, Eminem actually says "venom, i got that adrenaline momentum, venom." Not "venom venom venom" lol

OMGGGGGGG
i hated venom when i heard it the first couple of times, but tbh i grew on me. his pronunciation and the flow of the hook really shows his vocabulary is almost limitless
"pronunciation" has gotta be the wackest compliment for a rap song ever lol
I liked the verses but the chorus not so much
4:57 that looks like 50%
Ich dance mit der gänse
lmao. was thinking that too
Summarized : Old man angry about today's rap and his album not being as big as he expected it to be.
Versaucey I thought the same, till it was big.
old man shout at a (sound)cloud
He did tell the media to fuck off like the old eminem which is why I like the album
Dude is in his twentys
He said multiple times, it's enjoyable to listen too lol. But his rap album is pretty bad from a critic standpoint
Moistony Critikano
I really liked the album, mostly because it felt like Em had something to write about.
If we're being honest the reason his music isn't as meaningful anymore is because he's finally clean of drugs. He doesn't have any real problems with his life anymore except for other rappers ruining something he cares about, which is music. That and we're in an age of drama where everyone wants to complain about each other and talk shit. Eminem just doesn't it best.
Again, I really liked the album. But its different because he's doing well. Every other album he's done minus revival, he's been going through some shit.
Braxton McMullen-Adair Yeah plus he’s 45 now with a lot of money and I’m sure he’s not in the streets of Detroit anymore having a tough time
Braxton McMullen-Adair Why do you think Revival did poorly? I enjoyed it personally but i can get why it wasnt his best but i dont get why everyone dislikes it so much.
@@edgargarcia604 a lot of people just think it was half-assed. I liked the album as far as music goes but there was choppy flow, times where em didn't say a word for seemingly 10 seconds. The P!nk song was dope but he only had one verse. That and he got really political with it, and since his fan base is pretty 50/50 for political left and right, 50% of his fan base didn't like it by default because of his jabs at Trump and Congress.
Mmlp2? Ig you could say his old house being torn down
Agreed
The thing about Eminem is he still sells, he is still doing numbers, Kamikaze is the best selling hip hop album of this year in pure sales and that was just a surprise album with ZERO promotion......

Yes! Someone is talking about it
This album was VERY good I seriously love "Lucky You" it's so good
This is the first "Moist Meter" I've watched, and I'm glad I started here. I'm stoked to see/hear that someone else CRITICALLY listened to this album. Even the people who recommended it to me said that they didn't actually listen. Contrary to what you said, I've listened to this album 4 or 5 times already, and every time, notice a new line that cracks me up.
Yo, if metal resonates more with you then talk about one. I'd love to hear your thoughts about a newer metal album.
I know, I love metal. It would be interesting to hear him critique/praise various genres of metal.
My favourite metal is scandium
quintonis1 \M/
I don't know if he likes them, but Thrice has a new album coming out on the 14th which would be some good timing if he does
Check out Inferi - Revenant. It's a recent heavy hitter. It's technical death metal.
Absolute huge fan of eminem here, I completely resonate with everything you’re saying, but personally I think kamikaze is purely a diss track album and a sort of catch up album to let people know what he’s thinking about at the moment. I enjoyed him speaking on revival because I listened to it and thought “how does em actually feel about this” but either way enjoyed the meter as usual, stay great Charlie.
I really enjoyed this music review!
KEEP 'EM COMING CHARLIE
I think the album was called kamikaze because these are one hit tracks that target others.
Like a kamikaze pilot.
This is his surprise throw away album.
*My favourite song is Sonata A# Minor "Bethoven Diss Track LOL" by Mozart.*

Stepping Stones from Eminem is my new favorite song :)
Gonna have to disagree with you here, I liked it much more than a 60%, and I do think that although many tracks are diss tracks, they will will still be relevant for some time

Old man yells at (sound)Cloud The album
And Tyler the Creator for some reason
Nathan Shlapobersky He went after Tyler the Creator because Tyler has been saying he’s shit for the past 5 years. So he went after Tyler basically saying you can’t judge someone when you’re not even on his level.
I haven't heard that before. Or maybe I did a million times. I don't know.
The chorus in Venom is a throwback to classic superhero theme songs - think of the classic cartoon theme songs for Spider Man and Batman. And he only does the part you sang for a second. There’s a lot more to the chorus than just repeating “venom.”
_Moist Meter just went VI-RAL!_
_Dis-tracks aren't good for survival_
*Neither was the album revival*
Stepping stones tho. Lol
Honestly I liked the album but I do see your points.

1985, by Bowling for Soup? Never thought that was a diss track. What part of the lyrics am I missing?
Solar Freak no, by J.Cole, yeah I thought of that as well
Ah thank you for the info! Much appreciated.
No Vaseline
Venomous Vince yup
Reading the comments in videos about music makes me love how everyone presents their musical opinion as fact
Venom isn't a diss track
I feel like you only listened to the album once. Yeah, he calls out names in a few of the songs, but as it’s usually a few lines out of 60 or more, it’s unfair to say they’re all diss tracks.
@@braydenlawson5369 He's not even complaining though lmao. He's literally calling out the people who slimmed through it and reviewed it regardless.
Most of the lines he’s literally just rhyming words that have no correlation to each other
Brayden Lawson considering Charlie’s knowledge of hiphop is feel-good music, his content is targeted to video game nerds, and from his incorrect reciting of the ‘Venom’ chorus, one could safely assume that most of this comment section isn’t well-versed in hiphop either. It sounds like he and you could only get the references that were direct disses. This album is so full of content. He doesn’t complain about the album doing bad either. He gives a middle finger to everyone who shat on him for it. Sounds like you only listened to it once, too. If Charlie wants to do music reviews, he should stick to metal, a genre he may actually know more about. It’s okay to not like it, but to say this album is only diss tracks is false and not a difference of opinion.
Baby Bentley That's the point. I can't recall which song it is, but he rhymes a load of words and phrases together that have no connection. Why? Because he is using them as a way of saying how little he has in common with these other rappers. He also uses this same technique to show how easy it is to rhyme random words, and show how it could be catchy. He literally says he doesn't like the style, but is able to see how it could be popular. And I think that's exactly why he's using the style. Because in the modern day, it's catchy and will stick in people's heads.
Probs listened to the ringer about 100 times at this stage. Still picking up lines I missed over the last couple of years.
👌
Lucky You, Not Alike, Stepping Stone and Fall are probably what I'll keep listening to
