Congratulations on the results you did amazing! I'm doing the leaving next year and I was wondering how you got a H1 in business? As in how much work did you put in and how did you revise?
Wyatt Blue Grassi-Hoying Thank you😄 I done business grinds from January until the exams, I would definitely recommend looking at patterns, and focus at least 50% of time studying on the ABQ units, for the mocks I only revised UNITS 4,5 and 6 and I got a H1 in that exam, so it's all about the ABQ units. Good luck!!
Sophie R Thank you! For accounting I used revise wise, for the rest of my subjects I didn't use revision books I just made out notes and flash cards myself. For maths I just learnt off methods of doing things by topic and then done the exam papers on that topic. I don't know how you can actually prepare for the exam though because I prepared everything except one proof and all the questions were phrased differently I didn't know what was being asked. I got all A's and B's from 1st to 6th and then done awful in the exam so it's hard to prepare for it.
Erika Mckevitt Thanks so much for the advice, will definitely get the revise wise. Yeah I feel the exact same with maths, got a B in the Jc but I find it so hard to understand what questions are asking! Hoping to do accounting and finance in dcu too so let me know how you find it!
only in 3rd year and just submitted my subject choices and picked accounting and business.. pure shitting it if i don’t get them, i handed it in late so😂 what was the accounting exam like? that’s what i’m going for, wanting to go to dcu, could be a bit too hopeful about the whole thing haha
Hiii I'm currently in 6th year and Biology is killing me because of the overload of information😅 Did you just do exam paper questions for biology to learn information etc?? I'm particularly doing that for Chemistry but I'm not sure if it'd work for Biology. Thank youu!! Congrats on the amazing results, I'll be lucky to even get 400 😅
Aw thank you, don't underestimate yourself! Yea definitely learn from the exam papers there's way too much stuff in the book. If you look at the exam papers you'll see that most of the stuff is just key words they're looking for. For the really complicated chapters I would just sit down and take as much time as you need to understand what is going on and then summarise it on flashcards in your own words. That's what I done for respiration and photosynthesis one day before the mocks and nearly every question I answered on them after that day I got full marks on. Good Luck with the exams you'll be fine!!🌻
Hey I'm doing my lc next yr I was just wondering what was your study routine like? Like how many hours a day of study did u do? I'm already stressing lol and what methods of study did u find most useful? Also did u do a lot of past papers like is it essential in order to get a high grade?
Exam papers are essential you should be doing them from the start of sixth year, honestly my study was all over the place up until Christmas and then I was doing about 3 hours a night 5 days a week, coming up to the exams I took time off school and was in the library for about 8 hours everyday and I found that was my most productive time all year, different methods work for different subjects, biology, accounting and maths it should just be exam papers and the rest you need to learn stuff off so whatever works best for you!
Susannah Keohane The revise wise book is really good, other than that all you can really do for accounting is learn one method of doing each question and then apply it to every question in the exam papers, accounting really is about practice! Good luck you'll be fine just start working from now x
Have you any tips for me, I want to do law in trinity and my options don’t add up to the amount of points I need hence the reason that I do 3 ordinary and 3 higher and that would be including getting 100% in every exam which is unrealistic, is their somewhere I can go to re do a year and do every subject higher level or anything I can do before that could then transfer me to trinity for law after a year? I’m really stuck and stressed out because my leaving is next year and my teachers keep just telling me to relax😭
H4 in maths Jesus I can’t even pass ordinary maths
