Trickster/Gabriel's been my favorite character since s2 so I hated to see him go :'(
But this scene is epic nonetheless! Two very different actors, but so amazing!
And Lucifer looks close to actually crying O_o

@@kevinzhang3313 Lucifer doesn't understand the difference unconditional love with being worshipped, God didn't ask him to worship humans he told them to love them more than him, treat them as if they were family despite their flaws but to him if something isn't flawless it isn't worthy of him. That's what I think Gabriel meant when he said "you're incapable of love... you live to be worshiped."

THIS SCENE FUCKING PHYSICALLY HURTS ME. Idk it's just like everything, like you can clearly see they don't wanna kl each other. Like luci had spread his arms while approaching gabe in the start like he is about to hug him until gave points that knife at him. And he looks like he is about to cry when he stabs him. And Gabriel's facial expression when he gets stabbed. Luci touching his face. Gabe's wings at the end. This crap is torture.

I cried super hard when Gabriel died. Besides Castiel, Gabe was my favorite angel. They are tied for first. When Gabe appeared to Cas in season 9, I was so thrilled. Gabe was back and everything was alright again, but it wasn't real.
Lucifer may be stronger than Gabriel but no doubt Gabriel is smarter than him or maybe even Michael! He's the Trickster so he must be alive HE MUST. Ohhh the feels

Okay so I could go on about this scene for days, but if I may just mention one thing that's just heartbreakingly beautiful. Everyone seems to miss it:
Gabriel is the only Archangel we have a wing shot of. Now, the impression of an angel's wings after death isn't exactly new, but if you all will take a look at that aerial shot at the end, you'll see something else. On either side of Gabriel are his wings, and on the corner of the table above him is the burnt out impression of a halo.
Archangels have halos. Which is beautiful, but seeing one, finding out like this was awful, though it is a lovely reminder right at the end of who and what Gabriel was.

Of all the archangels you can tell these two are the ones who actually loved and cared for each other. And years later when Lucifer was finally ready to change he turned to Gabriel for that support but instead Gabriel called him cancer. Understandable since Lucifer did “kill him”, but I’m just so heartbroken because their relationship wasn’t destroyed by gods orders or humans. Just each other
Before when lucifer was actually terrifying , not a joke like now
I knew that Gabriel didn't die for good here when I realized that lucifer stabbed him with a standard angelblade. According to official Supernatural lore an ArcAngel can only be killed with the unique curled ArcAngel blade of wich only one exists, and it only works if the ArchAngel blade is wielded by another ArchAngel. This blade in this scene was an ordinary angelblade.
He was/is one of the best characters on the show, really. I'm really happy he was on Meta Fiction, and it is said he is supposedly still alive, so maybe he'll be seen again. Hopefully.

LUCIFER: Gabriel, if you're doing this for Michael...

[Over Lucifer's shoulder we see a second GABRIEL, coming up behind him. As he lunges forward, Lucifer catches his arm and stabs GABRIEL's own sword into his chest.]
LUCIFER: Here. Amateur hocus pocus. Don't forget, you learned all your tricks from me, little brother. [Lucifer jerks the blade in GABRIEL's chest. In a burst of light, GABRIEL dies.]

Even Chuck said in one of the latest episodes of season 11 that reviving an archangel like Gabriel can take a lot of time.

Michael (apocalypse world) kills Gabriel with the archangel blade and he looks the same as he does now. Burned wings on the floor and everything. I highly doubt they would bring him back so soon only to kill him again like a giant f u to the face. So I believe that he lives and just like in this clip tricked everyone including Michael into believing he was dead so he could both buy them more time to escape and become an ace in the hole later on.

It's actually really, really well-written. I didn't think much of it at first (I had the same reaction as you, actually) but I started watching. I was surprised by how much genuine human emotion, sharp humor, and clever writing was featured in this show. Yes, the two main actors get a lot of fanservice, but they're actually talented actors.

Jay Li Matsuda we saw them in season 7 with godstiel killing Angels and once in season 9 it showed their burned wings laid out which looked out, but other than those two we haven't seen it

To forgive." is a quote that will always be the most meaningful to me, along with Damien's "To wake up every morning and save the world. To have a brother who would die for you.Well who wouldn't want that?" and Chuck's "Up against good, evil, angels, devils, destiny and God himself. They made their own choice. They chose family." But especially Gabriel's is always on my mind :)

This scene manages to be one of my favorites and my least favorites all in one go. It's incredible because Gabriel's speech and Lucifer's emotions are just brilliant, but I hate that Gabriel dies. He's always been one of my favorite characters. I sincerely hope they find some way to bring him back. Richard brings so much to the show.

Just wondering, do archangels then have a 'halo' cos there is a scorch mark above Gabriel's head that you don't see when the other angels die. Now is that just me being blind or making up nonsense. Have I missed something altogether. Was just curious.

I will always grieve Gabriel's death... I couldn't rewatch his death because is too painful, is even worse knowing that Lucifer had to kill him, his little brother. Lucifer loved his brother so much as Gabriel loved him. And their expressions, tho. Gabriel's pain expression is so sad, but is even worse Lucifer's looking at his corpse.

@hyptormors Gabriel is one of the 4 Archangels. Apparently he's 'Younger' than Lucifer. But he is the Healer. He is known for his healing powers, and he also has the Horn of Gabriel which is supposed to start the Battle of Armageddon
So if back then, an Archangel can be killed by a regular Angel Blade, then why are they now saying the Archangel Blade is the only way to them now?
You can see it in Lucifer's eyes after he killed Gabriel that he was really torn over the fact that he had to kill him, you can see the despair and i honestly feel sorry for him a little =(
i absolutely love the bother to brother conversations and tone all the angels have... good stuff , and it was so sad when Gabe died and lucifer was like " goodbye baby brother"
This is my FAVORITE scene in ALLLLLL of supernatural because it gets right to the heart of the whole show as well as reflecting similar relationships between characters and exposing the true motivation of each of the characters as well as the risks theyre willing to take and sacrifices theyre willing to make to either protect the ones they love or do what they at least THINK is right. Plus Mark Pelligrino and Richard Speight Jr. portray this so perfectly.
RIP one of the coolest guest stars of Supernatural. The Trickster/Gabriel will be always be a fave of mine.

This is the first time lucifer showed he was sad when he killed a person
With the reveal in Season 13, it seems Lucifer isn't crying here due to Gabe's death, but perhaps because of how all of his brothers are fighting, and even he hates that.
I can't put into words just how gutted this scene makes me feel. Even Lucifer's broken attempts at keeping himself together hurt my heart.

I really wouldn't be surprized if the "Gabriel" that Lucifer killed was also a clone with a real Angel sword. If he succeeds, Gabriel manages to kill Lucifer. If he fails, Lucifer thinks that he is dead and Gabriel can disappear.
