Gobekli Tepe really looks like two different eras of architecture. Why would the "T"-pillar makers fill in their walls with rough stacks of rocks? You'd think they would be more adept at wall construction. Maybe the "T"-pillars are from a long-ago time and were simply discovered by the rough-stone-wall makers who filled in the gaps with their stone stacks?
Same thought
That's what I believe.
Graham Hancock said it was being build over a long period of time so this would make sense…
I think the egyptians, pre or dynasty proper, did this with the pyramids...at least on Giza Plateau they did....the outer shell was the precise part but the inner layers were not squared and shaped near perfect at all, because it was never meant to be seen....backfill, of sorts. We can only speculate how Gobekli Tepe looked in its heyday but i would imagine (if im understanding your question) these areas were covered or hidden by design.
@@zachh2776except the interior of the pyramids are incredibly precise, made of pristine granite, and are constructed according to the golden section and PI.
Was a fascinating show - you guys are blessed to be able to go together to such incredible places... Looking forward to hearing more about the vases - imagine researching other things, besides the vases? Keep safe y'all and thanks, Ben & SNAKES!
that music Ben uses before the stream starts just sets the mood. he uses it in a lot of his vids and that track has become my vibe. Anyone else?
Subtract and Divide - A Moment
Cheers been looking for this for a while. Just to clarify, the album is called Subtract and Divide. The artist and song name is Scott Gratton - A Moment
Everytime I hear it drop I can visualise ben and brien forester doing a rap dance in front of the great sphynx
American who migrated to Australia here, just got my citizenship also, congratulations to our good fortune! excellent stream guys! please keep it up for us.
You guys are so well humored and well natured.
It's always a nice surprise to see another video by any of you gentlemen!
Missed the live stream but sitting down just after it has finished to watch the video and cant hardly sit .
Hemroids?
This was a great stream. Thank you guys. Great collab hope to see more.
I think Karahan Tepe was the center of the civilization that collapsed in the Younger Dryas, and Gobekli Tepe (on the fringe) was not buried by the cataclysm so became occupied as a center for recivilization attempts.
What all the data today looks like :
Civilization reached a pinnacle (one, of many) around 15,000 years ago when the Older Dryas happened. The civilization recovered and the other races finally died out (homo floresiensis may have expired between 17,000 and 13,000 BC), and rose back to prominence by 11,600 BC when the YD happened, and civilization fully collapsed. Enter the era of extinction; we almost died out. For 6000 years people repopulated and occupied various ruins but generally traveled for survival. Then around 4000 BC civilizations were rising again, only to be shut down around 3100 BC by another massive event (craters in Indian Ocean, Egypt, Mediterranean, Austria), and for 500 more years no real civilizations appear until Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Indus Valley. Enter modern archaeology.
Excellent timeline
I believe so as well
Yeah, people reproduce like rabbits
@@cschwad559 Or at least USED too
Some people dream of flying planes, owning a exotic car, success, etc.. My dream is the day I can go on one or more of these amazing tours while jamming to Ben's soundtrack that he uses for each of his vids. Captivating, jaw-dropping, happiness, quite simply a dream come true.
Subtract and Divide - A Moment
Seems very achievable.
I think there are two schools of thought , Get stuff to make you feel better or Get knowledge , I think with you ,as learning about a smart previous culture is mind blowing,
Love your channel mate! You’ve inspired me to save up to see these amazing places. Off to Peru end of the year thanks to you.
Nice!
Awesome. Reading this 10 months later, did you get to Peru? If so, how was it? After seeing it, do you believe the Incas built everything, or believe perhaps they found remnants of an unknown older civilization?
Congratulations on your citizenship, Ben! Sorry to hear it interrupted your trip. My wife is from Peru and her citizenship took something like 12 years. You guys make our country better
yes they did slavery for your country in order to get a piece of sh.t paper! halulujah!
Hello all you open minded people. In Italy we have the great fortune of having "Mauro Biglino" who simply does a literal reading of the Bible. I recommend his RUclips channel because it deals precisely with the same topics, starting from a Biblical analysis. Some of his videos are also spoken in English. Greetings to all of you and a big hello to the author of this channel, really well done!
Ancient rock-cut dwellings turned into modern apartments can be also found in Matera, southern Italy, almost identical to those in this video.
GREAT chat guys! I am saving every penny I get to be able to go with you the next time! What an amazing adventure!
1:49:56 it's nice you mentioned Chuck. His videos are amazing. So much awesome info. I sometimes put his videos on at night and fall asleep to them. I was really sad when I heard he passed away. He definitely impacted a lot of people's lives with his videos.
Congratulations on your citizenship. Hope to meet you and the Snake brothers someday.
Me too ...Real like minded folks.
Thanks for this, Ben and Brother of the Serpent. I would love to go on one of your trips, as its time to take the interest that next level. Watching shows and wondering how it all is makes one want to find out and discover on locations. Have a good one guys.
Snake Brothers your dialog reminds me of the movie The Brothers Grim lol with their spontaneous comedy and wit. So let's see hand tools, grinders and lots of them, this tells me that they had an infrastructure in place to not only do the work they were capable of doing with stone, this is important that they had free time, also had a population big enough to maintain stored food and that goes along with it.
This is definitely a sign of a Civilization allocating resources, I'm sure will learn more about them,so as more is discovered. I hope we can stay away from the old terms like temples and worship. These people worked hard and probably like to party just like we do lol.
For all know that this maybe a hall of records, or some kind of learning facility, and that is why it was protected. So far it doesn't seem extremely advanced technology wise, but it's no use putting the horse before the cart. So if they did want to pass on some knowledge let's look in that direction first, and it does date back farther than any other Civilization...
That weird shape at Karahan (1:26:25 and 1:47:45) looks a lot like a top view of the face from Gobekli (1:39:28). Almost like it was also going to be a similar chamber but was interrupted early on. If you think a bout it, a good way to carve those bedrock "phalluses" would be from the top down while excavating the chamber itself.
This was great seeing you all, can't wait for that podcast, Ben. Cheers guys, keep well.
The country in which Gobekli Tepe is located has respectfully asked to be called The Republic of Türkiye. Or just Türkiye. Your cooperation is appreciated greatly!
@1:48 the channels you're describing here are known in this part of the world as markers for buried treasures, its a method where who buried his belongings leaves this water track so that when pour water in it as the water runs through it guides to place where the treasure is or its gateway through a cave or crevice.
This is actually a known method for the Turks (Ottomans) in the past and the jews.
Look at our cites that are built to raise the temperature, then use more energy to make it livable. Our concrete doesn't last as long as roman concrete. I wonder if we're living what we're seeing in these sites.
I love you guys. What a life you have chosen for yourself it’s truly truly inspiring my dudes!
Ben, Do you have any plans or interest in covering any of the phenomenal stonework in India? I have only, more recently, been turned on to the precision and grand scale architecture in these temples, caves and quarries there. They are extremely impressive and i dont know how, as interested in the topic of ancient civilizations and their stoneworking abilities as i am, that i spent all of my interest in egypt, peru, and turkey and not even start digging into india until the last few years of my 35 year journey of wonder. I love your content and would love to hear your analysis into this amazing civilization and what they left behind.
Turkey and all bordering regions/countries are extremely intresting, as they're packed full of history, and what I like is that they have yet to "polish" the sites, so you can still witness the real deal, cause I don't know about you, but I hate what archeology does, I get maintaining the sites, but restoration is often reconstruction, and it often gives the impression you're looking at a fake. The people are also so incredibly friendly, despite the country's reputation, as it's only due to the horrible government and political situation in general, after all, like most countries in the world, the people is hostage to their government. Then of course you've got the food, and the Turks sure know how to enjoy "table time", they have the best charcoal grilled kebab in the world, and some of the most insane sweets, many of which give you diabetes just by looking at them! 😅
It seems likely that the large T pillars are the older site and the walls and structures that are made of the smaller rocks were built by the people who preserved the site by burring it. Perhaps these were structural domes covered in soil. Essentially the original site was extremely important and likely already ancient.
Fantastic photos and scans I've never seen before. Hope Graham Hancock and Robert Schoch have seen these!
If you think about how much technological advances we have made in the last 3000 -5000 years, its not hard to imagine very advanced cultures that developed over perhaps longer periods, in times when several species of humans co inhabited the land. Areas which have fertile climates and much vegetation ( as that area had long ago), could have been deserted/destroyed by wars or natural disasters, grown over for centuries, turned to soil, then dust as the land dessicated.Nothing metal would likely survive.
I would love to go out and see all these cool places I literally have no responsibilities except learning
Great opening to the stream
Stream starts 8:10
Maybe these pillars were sort of standardized size wise and the were the foundations of structures or houses with wood on top or on the sides...
When the wood rots away is so hard to fathom what the things left behind were intended for.
I’ve enjoyed this channel so much. I’m going to talk about it on my next broadcast. 👍
I was hoping you might have an answer for me. I have a BFA and have completed and observed many portraits and statues of people. We have always learned that when doing a portrait you position the ears with the top of the ear even with the outer corner of the eye and the bottom of the earlobe with the outside corner of the mouth.
As I watch your videos as well as others I notice that the ears of the ancient statues are all wrong compared to civilization today. I personally don’t think that the ancient Egyptian was all that different from us, but I don’t know enough about them to make a definitive conclusion. Thank you so much. Please keep doing what you do, I really appreciate it.
Might be that they allowed for how a statue placed far above eye level would look different than it does on the ground
@@annewitkowski7586 hadn’t thought of that. Thanks
@amylingle7135, So interesting. What seems as so insignicant has me looking at all of these statues with new eyes. Im a doodler, im sure no where near your level of art and most def not on your level of art history, style, appreciation, awareness, etc but i can draw. So thank you on two things: #1- comparing egyptian statues ear placement vs other civilzations through time and area. #2- Being self taught, i never heard of lining up the top of ear to outer point of eye socket and bottom of ear lobe to outer point of mouth/lips. Lets see if this improves my portraits!!! You rock!
@annewitkowski7586
I’m sure you underestimate your talent, just like all artists do. The alignment was one of the first things I was taught when I started doing portraits. The alignment is rarely exact but it’s a starting point.
Thank you so much for the compliments they are greatly appreciated.
@@zachh2776 sorry I sent the reply to Anne instead. 🤦♀️. Fingers just not working today.
First..AWESOME TYTY..2nd DAMN! that intro is POWERFUL..like literally, i swear by the time the fade in shot starts for the live stream...kinda felt like a i was coming out of a mini dream sequence! Intentional or not..BLOODY AWESOME
Its probably just because ive been looking at photos of So. America and Egypt for about 50 yrs and they are unique and beautiful but the Tepe's seem very other worldly to me...like not developed by a related culture in the middle east...stunning.
Y'know before Blazing Saddles (lol), Mingo was Ed Ames' name in sorta memorable role in the TV series of Daniel Boone.
How did they fit those huge blocks so exactly together? Pre concrete that basically turns to stone after a 1000 years? How about "paper mache" being used like pre 3D printer scanning. If you had your stone surface and covered it in layers of paper mache and let dry, you could get a perfect "imprint" of the rock. Use that dry paper mache imprint to guide your carving of the other rock to fit. Not like they had an actual 3D printer that could scan the rock face and re grind the opposite onto another rock (but that would work, right?). A freshly cut animal skin will form and shape to what ever you lay it down on to dry too.
The question is what did the original t pillar builders use to keep them up, esp since we now need braces or they would fall over in time
Thanks for the video guys! Really excited to see if I can get in on the next Egypt trip!
There is this amazing stuff called all stop I believe for poison oak. It worked amazing for me and I had it horribly before and most doctors don’t even know about it. Check it out helped me so much
What about a follow up to the life stream with Ancient Presence? I would really like to listen to the discussion about the Serapeum concerning Mariette's report as well as the information gathered from the other finds in the structure. A severe blow, I believe, but not unnecessarily "untackleable". Your comment, Ben, on their first video on the matter is quite extensive and - in my eyes - reasonable. On the other hand you really did not adress the contradicting facts in the literature and finds presented in the Videos II and III on the matter.
A question I have regarding the right angles - what is our reasonable range of tolerance concerning right angles (maybe in machinery from the late 19th, early 20th century)? I believe GH to be right, (at least officially) assuming that the "Lost Culture" was around that level of engineering (whatever branch of technical evolution they took).
Finally I believe another meeting with them would quell entrenchment. The comments on their side seem to solidify - and if it's true that they reached out to you and you did not get back on them, I must say they have a (n unnecessary) point. Cheers to you and your work ben - Snake-Bros as well, naturally.
I’m so envious of the work you are doing, literally my dream job. But thank you so much for all you are doing and for sharing it with the public like you do in such an open minded way that’s unbiased and based in logic.
The notches on the statues at 2:00:55 are very similar in shape and size to the notch under Sphinx ear!
Awesome as always boys!
You made my day Ben. Thank you for this 2 hours of enjoyment. I am Turkish by the way.

Please investigate the megathylic wall at Sage Mountain, Montana, USA, along with Stonehenge-like structures in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada. I would love to see you do a video on these. Highly similar to megalythic walls in Peru.
There is another site in Montana about 6-7 miles northwest from Lolo hot springs that has a large number of very large megalithic blocks stacked up that is amazing to see.
I love the song on intermission, fantastic.
I was hoping to have met up with you guys for Gobekli Tepe...even booked tickets but then the earthquake happened...Next time I hope 🙏🏻
Same here! Went to Cappadokia instead. From Hattusa to Derinkuyu and quite a lot of other sites. Amazing!

Great podcast! That trip sounds amazing
Happy 500k subs!
Do you think that William Van Alen (architect/designer of the Chrysler Building) may have been inspired by the style of the statue of the eagle-head seen at 2:00:03`? The eagle heads on the Chrysler Building have such a "feel" of the Nemrut" eagle. Just a thought that sprung in my head.
@Ben, when are you posting your own Turkey video? Looking forward to the Gobekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe video!
100.45 there is a great image of a Shoebill on that rock, ( plus 3 other species) very distinctive profile, i'm not sure theres any other bird like it.
Theres quite a few accounts of a small People (H. floreiensis?) who lived in fear of Giant Storks (?), and were predated by them yearly, and although helped by some of us larger folk at times, they were eventually hunted out by the 'Storks'.
The pillar arrangements are clearly some kind of inter dimensional portal. ❤ Not to be confused wit peruvian knob-gardens. 😂
The content and theme are as always too good.
There is often a change in the sound volume, maybe it would be good to pay attention to the distance from the microphone. There may be another cause.
I wish you the best Ben.
Spending time in Tirkey at tye moment. X
I personally think the "fertility chamber" scan to look more like a fruit, kind of like an apple, with the squiggly channel being a stem, and the pillars would then be seeds. The head coming out of the wall then makes me think of a worm entering the fruit.
Love your work
You guys do great work. Thank you!
I was just thinking; I know I'm late to the party. When were all these underground structures built? Are the entrances facing North? What are these people hiding from; the sun?
Looking at the T-Pillars, I can't help but think they were also representations of phallic's in some way.
Agreed
@@RealKlausSchwab Thank you, Klaus.
Brothers, these structures are huts. Imagine a wooden roof on them. Kinda Tipi like.

I've been noticing a lot of holes that seem random in Tepe construction. This is what I take from these holes.
Astrological orientation could be part of it too.
To be completely honest, it just looks like a rebuilt mess after a rebuilt mess that had order to the madness at one point.
Are we seeing inheritance, like we assume in Egypt?
Thankyou for this. Just an idea , could the channels have been the site animals were butchered? Drain the blood away for sanitation. Keep flies and predators away?

Really liked the chat sorry you had to endure those rigors to meet the citizenship process.
You would use "t" pillars to support some structure above it.

I have often wondered if what we are seeing at gobekli tepe is an ancient archaeological dig site.
Lol why do u put the M & G from “streaM startinG” in Red?? I keep on thinking “MG” must stand for something, but it clearly doesn’t and it’s purposefully confusing 😂
At about 1.43.34, where you show a T-pillar that was being cut out of the base stone at Karahan, are those steps leading up the hill to the left of your photo? Or a natural albeit regular erosion of the hill?
Woooo!
Nice song on break time!
Yeah man, was thinking same thing. Is this song by our hosts here? From what i understand, they have or they do jam together.
Does anyone have drone footage of the greater area there, all the still buried Tepes?
What doesn't change through history and time. Fire is hot, the stars don't move, and people are born as blank slates knowing nothing. A guy right now, 2022-2023, built his own time capsule with and ONLY for a bag of flaming hot Cheetos. A time capsule is not a new idea. Is the Sphinx looking at the constalation Leo the Lion? Would it have been picked as a time capsule sight (it's in the bedrock)? Would the egyptian pharaohs tell you if they found something (no)? Were they arrogant enough to re carve the face to be "their" face, if it was a lion face originally? The egyptian pharaohs would not let their "slaves" leave.... ask Moses. Would humanity revolt against slavery at any point in history? The Dead Sea Scrolls were NOT supposed to be found (the powers that be at that time tried to kill them all off). The Bible does not support single person rule... worship no other god (making it a threat to their rule). The pharaohs were always trying to claim they were "godly". What is one unifying reason to have everyone want to destroy and erase huge chunks of history.... cause it supported "slavery". The iron pillar of deli doesn't rust? Why isn't there more of that "technology" used?
1:26:30 Looks like the same scoop marks as the unfinished obelisk. (on the right side of the hole) Do you see it too?
Were you going, or have you already been to the UK this year ? I remember you saying you were coming over..

Next time you should attach the iphone to the drone and have it doing loops around the statue's heads at Nimrod mountain.
I think the current civilization that sees Greece as it's father civilization will have to fall before we can look at things objectively and acknowledge an earlier advanced civilization.
this is only a white racist view ....and no egyptians are not white
Both that and the silly out of Africa bs.
Pushing back the timeline, though incredibly important and interesting, does little to change the origin of western thought and culture in the Mediterranean and near east. This doesn't take anything away from those origins. It just pushes the scope of that sphere of influence further back. This doesn't topple Homer and Plato; it just adds to it.
@@apyorick it does changes things since the western doctrine is so bad might be time for westerners to look and acknowledge they are not the greatest out there.

Where does Gobekli Tepe fit in the lost ancient high technology timeline?
I would think, the first. As far as we know, the oldest. Taking into consideration that there is really nothing special about quarrying, moving, dressing and placing the stones....but just addressing and acknowledging that this is the worlds first attempt at building on a grand scale, that we have proof of. Forgive me question here, but, isnt this common knowledge in ancient civilization and alternative archaeological circles? Was your question a trick question or something?
Where is the thumbnail picture taken? Great podcast 😊
