  • Want to get started on a super cool weaving project and aren't sure where to start? You're in the right place! In this video, I walk you through how I plan my weaving project, including all the corners I cut (for better or worse). This is mainly geared toward multi-shaft and rigid heddle weaving but can be easily applied to any kind you wish.

You really break it down into frank and easy steps that make the process less scary/daunting. Thank you. I keep coming back to this video for reference.
Math tip: multiply a number times 1 and the fraction to skip the step of having to add. 12 picks per inch, 10 inch towel (9" + rolled hem), 120 picks * 1.1 = 132 inches in the loom

@@darcyfabre I’m already a fan of yours! Plus I really enjoyed the hospitality in your state when I was living in Florida and had to leave my place due to hurricanes. I only wish I had found a job and stayed there! Many many hugs from Provence, Adrien

Thank you for your generosity! And please, after seeing you disassembling, cleaning and reassembling the knitting machine, nothing of what you do can be called lazy! Dikke knuffels!!

Thanks for this video Darcy. You calm easy of explaining is a great review for me. I’ve been weaving 9 years and although I’m good with math I’m terrible at planning out projects. Your organized way of showing all your calculations is very straight forward and something I will aim to follow going forward.

Planning? Hah. I just warp, and go. Whatever comes out, is what comes out.
Planning leads to stress. Stress leads to errors. Errors lead to an inferior product. Inferior products lead to less sales, and less sales means less weaving.
