Ps... if your not in a hurry to eat, and some of you don’t like the rushing steam from the valve when you open it, simply turn off the PKP and just wait for about 15/20 mins , the pressure will just slowly deplete on its own, then when you open the valve... no steam will rush out and the lid will just open as normal. 😉

I always do that and reduce the cooking time too. Saves power as well as annoying steam.

I read that the plastic trivet isn't actually supposed to sit on the upper ridge line in the inner bowl. Think about this for a moment. A manufacturer is unlikely to have made such a basic mistake as the accessory being too small so that iit doesn't stay in place. That's because it is meant to sit lower in the inner pot, about an inch off the bottom. I made exactly the same assumption when I first used mine, and went online to research and found what I've just shared.
When I was researching pressure cookers, I came across the instant pot, a model available in the US I think, and there are lots of accessories people have sourced and made, for what they describe as pot in pot cooking. One solution is stainless steel tiffin boxes that are stackable. I've not found yet, something similar for the PKP. Still looking.

why not try placing a small piece of plastic/silicone on opposite sides between the trivet and pan? That way it would wedge the trivet and keep it in place with all that need for foil. Would work out fa cheaper as it would be reusable.

LD Williams The copper pot should have a ridge around the inside that the trivet sits on..( it does on mine).. I’m sure the new copper pots are for sale now on PKP’s website... £9.99 I think, not sure. 😊

LD Williams I must have bought one of the later editions, mine came with the ridged pot... the trivet is a bad design though, it’s difficult to lift out without nearly scolding yourself or tipping it over , it needs some sort of lifting handles or higher wall at the bottom to keep the stuff in if it tilts and higher side handles.

@@coldeb8911 hi I bought one from a shop near me which is brilliant it has a built in stand and doesn't collapse when you lift it out of pot and also a plastic heatproof handle and only cost 8 pounds. Wish I could add a photo to show .

I'm going to make this in my ninja foodi max. But put the tatties in the bottom and chicken on a rack. Pressure cook the potatoes for 1 minute and then put put teriyaki sauce on the chicken. Prior to that I'd mash the potatoes in my ninja foodi max with butter milk cream and cheese. Then of course add the salad at the end.

There is now a ridge that the steam trivet sits on in the copper pot , about half way down ( well there is on mine), so the trivet won’t fall straight through, so the foil is not necessary anymore, however, does anyone else find, that lifting the steaming tray out again after you’ve finished is very tricky, maybe they should bring out a trivet tray with longer lifting handles on each side and a higher edge around the trivet.😊
