It’s so weird how Crowly’s life reads like an actual biblical story or parable- A child of god that went astray, enough to be called the beast of revelations. Funny enough the character I was making was also an occultist so it was funny how that all lined up without me knowing.
Wait, shouldn't Robin Hood have been covered in this video? Although there may never have been one true Robin Hood, the tale is based on real actual people.
Wow, I really had no idea about those two's origins.....specially nightstalker, I thought he was just a generic psycho or something. I already knew about the series borrowing from real life figures like Jeanne D'Arc, Cleopatra and so on; but never imagined that they would reference people like those 2.

Probably doesn't meet the threshold of "real" with documented evidence, but I think Jack the Ripper deserves an honorable mention. Mad Gasser is another one based on a real incident. Hooligan is human, but too generic. Same goes for Tattooed Man, generic Yakuza. Interesting video though! Didn't realize Master Therion was based on Crowley.
I actually covered Jack the Ripper in my Jack Bros video a while back. As for the others there are a lot I omitted for the sake of getting the video out, but I might make a follow up discussing the ones you mentioned
I kind of had an idea of what kind of person darkstalker would be based on. But the master????? His story is such a rollercoaster of emotions. Damn Wish there was at least one more demon in the video though.
I recently noticed how a lot of the Personas in Royal, namely the third tier ones, are based on real historical figures: Captain William Kidd, Célestine, Goemon/Gorokichi, Lucy...
Aleister Crowley actually turned his life around and even got something like redemption?! I had no odea. That's actually uplifting to hear. Plus, this Aleister ended up better than the one in Toaru franchise😂
The house shown in the video belonged to Crowley and it's now an abandoned ruin in Sicily which some times hosts local raves, I guess his legacy lives on.

This is part of why I love SMT. While stories based in fantasy worlds have to establish their lore, since SMT is based in an alternate version of our own reality, understanding SMT lore helps understand real world lore and vice versa
A tad disappointed that you only covered two of them, seeing just how MANY real people got into the game as demons. Hitler, Rasputin, Captain Kidd, Jeanne D'arc, Lucy Hay, just to name a few. Okay, Hitler's terror is known well enough to not warrant recounting in a video, to be honest.

@@Tony4You The Richard Ramirez stuff is horrific. Definitely scarred me. I don't recommend looking up the stories or watching documentaries about him.
Impressive coverage, Richard Ramirez was neglected and groomed into a subhuman, but in all the criminal profile presentations none mentioned the little chinese girl. Crowley not much to say that I haven't researched already, did middle eastern black magik and was in league with the 8th sphere, his protege was Jack Parson whom was on auto pilot, auto assist.
Much appreciated! I believe real people deserve the best coverage possible. Especially in true crime I hope I gave a good amount of respect to everyone involved
I wonder if Mad Gasser is also one... It feels like it could be based on a serial killer.
"Mad Gasser was inspired by the legend of the Mad Gasser of Mattoon, an urban myth that supposedly terrorized the small city of Mattoon, Illinois by spraying victims with an unidentified gas."
According to the SMT Wiki at least
He is! There were a lot I omitted for the sake of time in the video, but I might make a follow up in the future
@@Tony4You hey, if there's enough material for a second or even third installment, I can't be the only one who would be looking forward to it!
And I swear I'm a normal person and not a secret psychopath! 🤣
Stephen is based on Stephen Hawking, but obviously not a demon or an angel. Or even a god. He's something much more powerful.
It’s all fun and games until Stephen Hawking gets out of his wheelchair
Fauci bless you!
Just started the video, I’m not sure if the mad gasser will pop up(sometime attributed to being a cryptid), but it’s gotta be my favorite. Looks cool and carried my ass for to zones in both of redux and the og Strange Journey.
He didn’t :( but it make sense. Fantastic work though!
There will be more parts to this series in the future potentially. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much Tony for this video! I knew very little about Crowley other than the small bit Mr. Edogawa mentioned in P4, which was that he was an occultist and summoner. Please do consider covering more of these "real life" demons in a series.
Shin Megami Tensei: Serial Killer / Cult leader.
Persona : Austrian Painter.
Richard really was a scary looking dude
Well, to quote about serial killers:
"Demons are understandable. But humans... are just disgusting me"
- Samael, demons comedy
Babe wake up, new Tony4You upload
Interesting that Crowley actually looked up to his father as a child.
Maybe the real demons were the unfunny memes we made in real life?
Pancake demon
Tony, thanks so much for your SMT videos. I feel like I learn just as much from you as I do from Vaati in the Souls community.
Quite an honor to be compared to him! I appreciate you enjoying the vids
Personally think it's hilarious they actually made Rasputin a main villain for the first Raidou game lol
disturbing yet fascinating, you've earned a new sub sir!
Much appreciated! Hope you'll like the backlog and the videos to come!
This guy Ramirez made Satan and real Satanists look and sound bad. Satan can't be blamed for what this guy did. He had to be responsible for his actions that he did. Too many people blame Satan for bad actions that they made. Real knowledgeable Theistic Satanists don't go killing people. That's Not what Satanism is about!
Damn
Wish there was at least one more demon in the video though.
There are many more demons I had to cut for time, but maybe I will make a follow-up since they are all so interesting
@@Tony4You deeeffffinitely follow up!!!! It's really cool and interesting! Good job!
I recently noticed how a lot of the Personas in Royal, namely the third tier ones, are based on real historical figures: Captain William Kidd, Célestine, Goemon/Gorokichi, Lucy...
While not demons, how about Goemon, Captain Kidd, and, hell, Ernesto (“Che” Guevara) from the Persona series?
Definitely Alistair Crowley. Look up the picture he drew of the demon named Lam that he supposedly summoned.
True evil never resided in the realm of "fiction"
Yoooo, it's like that Podcast "Creepypasta as SMT demons" by Fither. Pretty cool
It is incredible and terrifying to learn that there were creatures inspired by real people.
You’re a Tony4You fan that watches every video? Well I’m a Tony4You fan that never skips the ads. We are not the same.
Isn’t Rasputin a Demon in some of the games
He was a goofy antagonist in the Raidou games
Rasputin is not demon, he is cyborg and Devil Summoner (Dark Summoner).
Damn, you're like a real scholar that's so cool
What about Nobunaga Oda? I remember fighting him in Persona 2. I believe just called Evil Shogun or something like that.
As a true crime and history enthusiast, I love how you post true lore behind games. That is rare content indeed. Feed me more!!!!!!! Lol
Really appreciate it! I really like this type of stuff too
some idiot in a crime channel video posted:
"evil doesnt exist. mental patterns do"
i sat there and wondered if humanity is cursed to repeat itself.
then i replied: "evil exists, mental patterns are excuses" then i linked this video.
thanks for the vid Tony4you!
It is cursed to repeat itself, that's why we need the Schwartzwelt.
If we don't believe evil exists we can't fight against it. Always be quick to learn, and keep watching Tony4You!
Both exist any they aren't mutually exclusive. It's a false dichotomy to suggest otherwise.
This is part of why I love SMT. While stories based in fantasy worlds have to establish their lore, since SMT is based in an alternate version of our own reality, understanding SMT lore helps understand real world lore and vice versa
I’d love to see more real historical (human) monsters in SMT
Mom: We have Shin Megami Tensei at home
Shin Megami Tensei at home:
A tad disappointed that you only covered two of them, seeing just how MANY real people got into the game as demons.
Hitler, Rasputin, Captain Kidd, Jeanne D'arc, Lucy Hay, just to name a few. Okay, Hitler's terror is known well enough to not warrant recounting in a video, to be honest.
Yeah there were a lot I didn't put in since I wanted to give each a proper amount of time. I really hope to make a follow-up eventually as so many people have brought up demons worthy of a video too
Loved learning about Crowley. I was surprised that Jack the Ripper from SMT IV did not make the list but since most people know his story it makes sense.
There's already a video covering the Jack Bros.
@@aerth6946 fair enough i admit i am not caught up on all the videos so i will check it out
Jack the Ripper wasn't a real person. He was a government coverup.
Woah. That’s actually kinda based creating a demon based of a real life monster.
Least obvious AI generated comment
@@Jolene007 I’m confused. Is that a compliment?
@@rockyjmoon3 No, it is not
@@Jolene007 ok. Just making sure. Also it’s not an AI generated comment.
Yeah many people don't know that the demon in game is honestly more tame than the one in real life lol
If you grasp the point of Persona and their use, this makes hella sense.
10:13 "...which is a book I actually own and have read."
Least surprising Law fan lol
It's crazy that ramirez had actual fans... like real fans. Women standing outside of the court room cheering throwing panties and flashing him like he was a rockstar...
from what I saw the ones in the trial were all goth chicks, which makes sense based on how ramirez looks
He is good looking why are you shock
No John, you are the demons
I love how you went from a demented psychopath to a drug addict dork thinking he's a mage 💀
ooooooo new Tony4You vids :D
btw, i'm really enjoyed to hear each of your videos
your narrative and how to bring the topics and lore is just very interesing and great
i'm have 0 regret to give you a subscribe :')
Really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoy the videos and hope to see you in the next ones to come
Hey Tony can you do a video of the occult references in the smt and persona games.
That would be quite the grand topic, but I would like to cover the symbolism of the games one of these days
@@Tony4You thanks for the response man love your videos.
Jeffrey Dahmer as a Persona be terrifying
i want more
Turbo Granny in SMTV:V is wild
3:02 what? How did he plead insanity on that?
Would love to see a video about the personas inspired by real people as well, like Caesar from P3 and Captain Kidd from P5!
I already basically did that with my Meaning Behind the Persona series lol. I think it's a good idea too
OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My brain exploded @0:40 HOW THE FUCK DID I NEVER CONNECT THE NIGHT STALKER WITH THE, Y'KNOW NIGHT STALKER!
On god I'm so dumb holy shit, how did this literally occur to me just now watching this vid?
Im surprised you didn't mention Jack the Ripper. Messiah might even come close to qualifying.
I actually covered Jack the Ripper in my Jack Bros video a while back, check it out
wake up babe, new tony4you
good video, i'm expecting more like that. The details about crowley are more elaborated than many introdutory videos about him. It's aways good to see your essays!
Thanks a lot! I hope to make more like this at some point for sure
"They're human like you or me"? No, they really aren't.
Wow....alestor crowley is...trusly fascinating.
I'm honestly surprised they haven't made Shoko Asahara a demon yet
what was the song playing at the start of the vid?
sometimes poeple can be scarier then any demon could ever be
There's a fairly obvious one you missed. Where's Jack the Ripper?
He was covered in my Jack Bros video a while back, check it out!
@@Tony4You I did not know that. I'll look it up. Thanks!
I like the nightstalker accidentally nullifying his sacrifices to satan by branding them with the cross of st peter
