It's funny how the Fiends go from a Matador, a monk, Ghost Rider, and then the horsemen of the apocalypse, the harlot of the bible, and the trumpeter of the end times. It went from "Eh, that's creepy", to "WOW, WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!"

Just a little note. Matar is the word the means "to kill" in Spanish. So yes it's technically derivative of the Latin word, but Matador is also the Spanish word for killer :)
A clarifying note: matador means "he who kills", but in a neutral sense, while someone who kills as in the crime is an "asesino" (from the same root as "assassin") or a "homicida" (he who commits homicide). You can be a "matador de toros" (bull killer) or a "matador de pollos" ( chicken killer), but for men it would be more appropiate to say "asesino de hombres" rather than "matador" (through it is correct)
I always associated Hell Biker as a reference to Marvel's Ghost Rider, who takes inspiration from the wild west story of a rider who collects the souls of the damned. This story also draws inspiration from various stories of waves of ghosts (In particular the Wild Hunt)

I’ve been trying to have all the fiends in my SMT 3 and SMT V games, but it’s a bear to do! They’re all so cool though but imagine if we had Demi-Fiend with all the Amala Fiends (I call them this because Alice is also of the fiend race, and there might be others as well and also because it makes them seem special) VS all the Persona MCs. They would probably get OWNED (the Persona MCs not Demi-Fiend)!!
I dunno if you're interested, but there's more to Hell's Biker than just being a parody of Hell's Angels. Each Fiend reprents a herald of death, the way this is symbolized in Hell's Biker can be best seen in SMTIII. During the 1970/80s there was a huge Satanic scare, with one of the victims of this being bikers. With the popularity of bikes rising among counter cultures, gangs of bikers became feared as violent Satanists, and the sound of bikes in the distance became a symbol of coming doom. Exploitation film makers noticed this, and it managed to permeate through society due to movies involving gangs of mad, murderous bikers. Pretty soon the sound of bikes would lead to panicked calls to the police as people thought death was coming.

One thing I read once spoke of how we ended up bastardizing War. We turned it from a thing to cause only sorrow to a thing that pushes our development to the next level. It goes into how practically every current invention we have had some connection to a wartime effort. I only say this as I found it interesting to think that war has caused any good. Though I fail to see how any recent ones have done so. Maybe we finally are at a point of no longer needing wars to push inovation
8:20 YES YES YES I LOVE YOU, I KISS YOU! CONGRATULATIONS, SIR!!! You are one of the extremely few people that actually recognize the horseman is "conquest"!!! Subscribed just for that.
I like most of them, the only exceptions being Matador (controversial take, I know) and Hell Rider. I strongly dislike the entire bull fight background cause it’s honestly just animal torture and I can’t help but dislike Matador for that :x Hell Biker is just too goofy/silly for my liking ^^’ Kinda sad you didn’t include David, but he wasn’t in Nocturne, so that’s understandable :)
Wow not liking Matador is not something you hear everyday lol. I understand it though considering the rough context behind bullfighting. The other fiends are definitely something I've been requested to cover so maybe it's worth another video
Would be nice if you could do a follow-up with the non-Nocturne fiends. Chemtrail is pretty silly, but David appears as a fiend in several games, and isn't immediately obvious why he's just named "David."
A small correction. The black horseman doesn't actually speak, that's one of the 4 living creatures (ie one of the seraphim) (When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!)
An interesting little thing that makes me think it’s also a nod to the first Horseman being interpreted as Jesus. He has a Light skill called God’s Arrow that has a 100% chance to kill whoever it targets if they don’t null or repel Light attacks. And he’s programmed to target whoever ISN’T immune. He also never uses the attack if everyone IS immune as well. He also has a unique fire attack that I believed is also possessed by Uriel called Prominence. Further signifying a connection to the angels.
One of the most popular interpretation of the Whore of Babylon (both as a prophecy by Christians and a political metaphor disguised as prophecy by secular scholars) is that she represents the Roman Empire, which was not yet Christian when Revelation was written. She is adorned in scarlet (the color of Rome) and purple (the Roman color of Imperial authority and the prestige of nobility), she rides a seven-headed beast (the city of Rome was built around seven hills), and represents the debauchery and excess early Christians perceived in paganism and imperial government. She is drunk on the blood of saints (Rome martyred many saints) and has made the kings of the world drunk with her fornication (a reference to the many alliances, trade relations, and tributes Rome held with other powers). Babylon in the Bible is shorthand for sin and corruption, of course, but the actual people and land of Babylon were considered a pagan superpower that persecuted the Jews and defied God, making it a dead ringer for Rome and the Christians. In contrast, some Muslims interpret the Beast she rides as representative of the Umayyads, an Arab people who otiginally opposed Muhammad, as they held seven provinces (heads) and ten leaders (horns).
It makes me more sad than it should that you just outright ignore Africa in your ad read when saying that it ships worldwide so you’ve got your European and South American friends covered. This is such a common thing and I’m mostly numb to it at this point, but it seems so strange that you would just omit Africa.
You missed a skeleton, David, sure he's not in nocturne but he was there from way back when. Would have liked to see something about the fiddler skeleton. Actually really thinking about it why is David frequently left out of the skeleton club? Yet matador is always there, David is every bit a cosplay skeleton as the rest of them thought he would at least be in smt v as a base game fiend with alice who isn't even a skeleton. Why they do David dirty like this?
Originally I was going to just cover the fiends of Revelation, but decided to cover all fiends of Nocturne. David is cool and I bet he'll come up in a later video sooner or later
It always annoyed me that most people don’t do the kalpas to get the fiends until way later in the game. You can do them after you fight each respective fiend. You can get matador after fighting him and fiends are really strong and the dungeons aren’t that hard. People say how hard and unfair nocturne is but I never had a whole ton of difficulty
Trumpeteer is the one i like the best and i forgot where i read it but there some sequence about 4 horsemen here comes king of conquest bent on war on which will cause famine that will create pestilence on which Death will come in the end some thing like that i forgot where i read it tho
Daisoujou I think has skin in his illustration. But he's so far into the process of self-mummification, his skin must be so dry and tight it appears no different from an actual skeleton.

Mother Harlot is the best! I hope I can get to the goddesses in this game for sure, I have a lot on the list to cover lol
I have a pretty cool idea.
Demi fiend after receiving the first menorah:
DF: Wait a sec. The fact that I have this, and all the other fiends have the other menorahs, then who did this belong to.
Video cuts to a shot of Snake mountain. Skeletor sneezes
I haven’t heard that many 7s since I used to watch 2pac conspiracy videos
What's the ost playing from the White Rider Segment? It sounds like SMT4, but I can't quiete pinpoint it...
Nvm found it. It's "Aboveground Urban Area A" from SMT4
God number 777 just like The mark of the beast is 666
One thing I read once spoke of how we ended up bastardizing War.
From funny skeleton to the worlds apocalypse
I’ve been waiting for this one! I love Mother Harlot, as well as the Fiend battle music.
One of the most fun demons to research to date. She's quickly become one of my favorite demons of the series
I strongly dislike the entire bull fight background cause it’s honestly just animal torture and I can’t help but dislike Matador for that :x
Hell Biker is just too goofy/silly for my liking ^^’
Kinda sad you didn’t include David, but he wasn’t in Nocturne, so that’s understandable :)
Wow not liking Matador is not something you hear everyday lol. I understand it though considering the rough context behind bullfighting. The other fiends are definitely something I've been requested to cover so maybe it's worth another video
Nice one. I hope we get a video on the fairies of smt.
Hm, an interesting suggestion. I think that should go on the list
Too sad skeletons can't play trumpets. They have no lips 😞
wait... true
this video made me go on a 3 hour bullfighting documentary binge, ty for another amazing video
Glad I could get people interested, even in such a small part of the video. Glad you enjoyed it!
Would be nice if you could do a follow-up with the non-Nocturne fiends. Chemtrail is pretty silly, but David appears as a fiend in several games, and isn't immediately obvious why he's just named "David."
Conquest: Colonization
War: perpetual war between developed and poor countries
Black rider: capitalism/climate change
Death: oh boy here it comes
ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE caldisla Picture In The Background Of The Thumbnail!!!
Hell yeah, new Tony4you video
These videos are fun to make, I'm happy people are willing to wait for them
A small correction. The black horseman doesn't actually speak, that's one of the 4 living creatures (ie one of the seraphim)
(When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!)
Ah yes that is widely considered to be true. Regardless the significance of him remains the same. Thanks for clarifying though
The correct answer is "kicking my ass"
Can't believe you forgot the most important fiend in smt
*Dante*
Dante is different lore
that self mummification is messed up
There's a reason why it became outlawed. Though the fact so many people did it the government had to step in is troubling
Bought smt 3 hd recently. And facing against pale rider. I'm getting my ass kicked lol
He's a tough one, you got this though. Nocturne is a right of passage
Mother Harlot is also my favorite. Although the trumpeter always has a special place in my heart because he was one of my besties in Persona 4 Golden
I've watched this video over 30 times now, very calming to listen to during a workout or while studying
It makes me more sad than it should that you just outright ignore Africa in your ad read when saying that it ships worldwide so you’ve got your European and South American friends covered. This is such a common thing and I’m mostly numb to it at this point, but it seems so strange that you would just omit Africa.
Lmao calling the US Department of Justice a crime syndicate makes more sense than i thought originally
One of my best friend is a fiend 😂😂
I like daisoujou for its look, lore and nocturne scream. I also like David, since he plays danse macabre, my favorite classical song
Does anyone know the name of the music playing in the Matador section?
It always annoyed me that most people don’t do the kalpas to get the fiends until way later in the game. You can do them after you fight each respective fiend. You can get matador after fighting him and fiends are really strong and the dungeons aren’t that hard. People say how hard and unfair nocturne is but I never had a whole ton of difficulty
Fate strange fake brought me here
I really enjoy these videos. I'm newer to smt and your demon break downs are always a treat!
Thanks a lot! I'm happy they're helping people appreciate the series more
Trumpeteer is the one i like the best
and i forgot where i read it but there some sequence about 4 horsemen
here comes king of conquest bent on war on which will cause famine that will create pestilence on which Death will come in the end
some thing like that i forgot where i read it tho
Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers,
100 million angels singing…
You forgot David, that Skeleton Violinist
Sadly he is not in Nocturne, and I didn't wanna go over ALL the fiends in the games. Maybe some day I'll get to them too though
WAKE UP BABE NEW TONY4YOU VIDEO
Are you ever planning on doing other fiends like Alice, chemtrail, and David?
Daisoujou I think has skin in his illustration. But he's so far into the process of self-mummification, his skin must be so dry and tight it appears no different from an actual skeleton.
i can see how the Chaos Gods of Warhammer were inspired by the Apocalyptic Riders
It's a shame that David always get's ignored for 3D games.....yet he's the most busted Fiend in Dx2, lol. Dude brought me many victories.
I was debating whether or not to talk about him, but wanted to focus on the ones in Nocturne first and foremost. He's great though
This is so interresting wtf
Yaaaaaaaàaaaaaaayyyyyy
