The most significant reason I am depressed is that I see criminals in positions of power go unpunished while I am spending more and more money to cover basic needs. Is it a sickness or a reasonable response to lawlessness and living a life surrounded by overwhelming network of lies?
Yeah, I'm pretty depressed about just wanting to be left alone, but senile old men want another war and every day the government makes new laws to tighten the screws. Its inescapable and depressing.
Don't let em win. Focus on the things you can control, and learn to let go of things you can't. The more you focus on the things that are out of your control, the worse it will get.
It’s not the depression that gets me it’s the total feeling of uselessness not being able to change the medical and government bodies that are making it worse for all of us.
That’s why you need to read up on vitamins, microbiome, processed/unprocessed foods… don’t rely on a doctor…they know hardly anything except pharmaceutical drugs! There are some good functional physicians but few and far between especially in the USA. Look into things like good/bad fats, D3 with zinc and magnesium.
@@Thejokestir8 Oppressive (that is, abusive, by definition) behaviours can indeed cause depression. There's a complex chemical connection between our environments, relationships and interactions with others and our body chemistry. These two doctors need to study what's happening in the modern psychology world. Few would advocate for drugs. Rather, the better solution is to look at a person's environmental and relational triggers and deal with them.
Entirely agree. Being in the 'developed' world is not conducive to good mental health. As those in the 'developing' world are increasingly finding. Question: who is doing the developing to whom? Why? Cui bono?
I managed my depression by removing toxic people from my life. Ex wife, parents, friends. I haven’t had any alcohol or medication for more than three years. I exercise in the gym regularly and eat well. I swim in the ocean almost every day. My life is unbelievably good.
"Dr Cohen seems so genuine and kind" so did the last snakes in the grass (at least to the morons who are hard of thinking) such as Whitty, Vallance etc seem SO concerned with your health. @@cannaroe1213 That is an absurd sexist comment. While I believe men and woman are different, to say they don't worry about world problems and infer they fetter away their time on social media is ignorant at best.
I think it has more to do with people waking up to the reality that they are actually living in a world which is run by thieves and murderers and the realization that there is little or nothing that they can do about it. The realization of their oppression = depression. Or, more succinctly: Opression = Depression. :/

I nearly lost my son because of the wrong medication. A new pharmaceutical got on the market in 2013 Xeplion from Canadá. It crushed all my sons muscles. I had to demand the hospital. They didnt allow me to visit my son during Christmas 2015 while he was in the psychiatry. Instead, the head of departament tried to close me off there to. I escaped in the last minute. Gathered myself and demanded him and I won. My son has been released and the medication has been cancelled by another hospital because of the severe side effects it had. He could not control any of his muscles. My son himself told me later that I was right, he should never have been gone to a psychologist cause this send him to a psychiatrist where his calvary started. I lost my business, my job, had to move back to our home country 3000 km away, but I did not lose my son 😛 Do not believe what a doctor tells you, just because he or she owns this title. Thank you for the excellent warning. Never trust doctors, especially psychologists and psychiatrists!! They are mostly guessing. They really do t knue as much as they think they do. Always do your own research, think things through yourself, figure out what YOU think will help, what odds YOU are willing to take rather than have a medical intervention. Most of what they do is just another job for them, for money. You are the best detective where your health is concerned.
i would add that many are depressed because of abusive relationships, abusive jobs, the inhumanity of those around them. Eliminating the abusive situation may be what they really need, and then finding some real fellowship and love can turn that around.
I don't think I'm depressed but I know I'm extremely exhausted from the ongoing of the past few years. These talks you do Dr John really do help me. They help me keep fighting the fight and keep my family away from this utter madness thats surrounding us.
I am human, I hurt when others are hurt. I feel used by the system, then disposed of. I struggle to stay afloat. I have seen those around me harmed by other people and systems in place. Sometimes when I help others I am abused for doing so. I see those with ill gotten gains thriving from doing harm to others. I am human. These things aren’t always something solved by medication and numbing. Removing human emotions may just make another monster that doesn’t care if others are harmed, we are supposed to care.
There is nothing you can do to change the minds and behavior of anyone else and it can feel overwhelming to see so much that's bad. So what I do is become the light and the love that I need to see in this world, as much as I can. And I realize that for every evil person out there, there are many more good hearted people fighting the good fight. We don't get to see that very often, but if you begin to change your focus from what's bad to what's good, you will start recognizing it all around you. Also, do not neglect your spirituality, whatever that is for you. We are body, mind, and spirit, and if any one of them is neglected, we will be out of balance. Best wishes, sending love and light to you. ❤️🌹✌️

My daughter lived in Southern Oregon for part of the pandemic, and North West Florida, for part of it. She saw a big difference in how the strategies worked in both areas( very different approaches in dealing with covid),she went back to Oregon a couple months ago for work, she said things are much worse there, on many levels, since covid, compared to here( Florida), where things were never abnormal, we only shut down for 2 months, and the majority of the people here did not drink the kool-aid. I believe many people ended up with ptsd, after this pandemic.
I think you are right about the ptsd like inner outcomes for some....leading to anxiety, which leads to polluted food consumption and other addictions, which leads to chronic diseases and further psych problems. lots of moving parts....
I agree with you. I live in Alabama. We did the same. Many MANY people who had anxiety issues suffered greatly and still do. It took my parents nearly 10 years to understand my ongoing fight to manage my depression by natural means, and the least productive and most most exhausting part of it was fighting a system that tried to push me onto medications. Until I compared it to their resistance towards 'flu shots pushed upon them my the system, beginning in the early aughts, and my attitude gained some msm support. By 2014, enough issues around anti-d drugs were creeping into the fringes of the mainstream, that my long-held alt health beliefs in general, began to make sense to them. Although they had other alternatives, both of them turned their health/medical care over to me, in their terminal fights with cancer. They would have rejected the coof jab, had it arrived in their lifetimes...At one point, I was so low that I almost took the stab, but I awoke the next morning in a cold sweat, because my mother, who had always promised to haunt me, did. I've have severe OCD, Anxiety, depression, and panic disorder. I've been on SSRIs and Benzos since I was 13 (now 37). Currently on 200mg zoloft and .5mg of Klonopin. Working to get off of Klonopin. I cycle 3 to 4 days a week and do upper body work the other days. That helps dramatically. Getting 8 hours of sleep a night. Taking vitamin D. Also have pernicious anemia so I've been in B12 for 2 years now. I believe medications has helped me and likely saved my life. That said, many people do not need these medications. So many people get zero exercise, terrible sleep, over stressed, bad diets etc.
I’m on sertraline for OCD too. Although on only 50mg. During the pandemic, and after long covid, and the illness and death of a close friend, my OCD spiralled out of control. At the lowest dose it took nearly a year for the drug to take effect positively. It helped me through two more losses… I mean, in a weakened state, OCD is opportunistic. Definitely sleep is key!! And eating well. And some exercise. 😉

Stop eating any sugar as it is a poison. Then do intermittent fasting. Eat twice a day then once a day. I have been doing this and I feel better than I ever have. The normal high sugar diet fills your body with fat which makes you have no energy and makes you feel bad. Of course you feel bad. You're being poisoned.
I was offered SSRIs when I was severely depressed, the doctor gave me an information sheet which I read and I red the accompanying studies. When I read that the SSRIs were barely better than placebos I decided to avoid them. I occasionally take St John's Wort which helps - but CBT and knowing how to deal with my mental states has been what have really helped me. A family member of mine has been on anti-depressants most of their adult life and it's not had a good effect on them.

My daughter as a teen had extreme depression. She would sleep sometimes 16 hrs. She would also self isolate. There were many factors in here life that brought her to this point. Her Dr started her on Lexipro and almost immediately she gained 20 lbs and couldn't remember to take the pills daily. We changed her to a time release anti depressant that she took once a week, which worked well for both of us to keep track. It was a 2 yr plan. She became part of the family again and actually laughed and had fun. She made the choice to discontinue the drug after about 1 yr 6 months. She went on to college and has become a well rounded young woman. Family support is essential. Thank you for your discussion Doctors!

Many reasons: a) ketogenesis is neuroprotective, b) elimination of plant-toxins (e.g. gluten, oxalates), c) meat and animal food contain many neuroprotective substances: fat-soluable vitamins like B12, the right version of omega3's (DHA), complete and bioavailable protein, substances like: taurine, carnitine, carnosine, choline which have been again shown to be neuroprotective. My doc wants to put me on medication because I have a history of depression 30 years ago and current stomach aches even though I'm not depressed. Makes me want to never mention depression - feels like it has become the lens with which people see me. I am so far refusing to take the meds and this video is cementing my position. I've upped my Vitamin D and taking steps to reduce stress. I really feel they jump to meds way too quickly. Thank you.
Stomach ache may be caused by depression, but I think you know better than your doc. It's terrible if all your complaints are written off as depression symptoms. I visit my doc only when nothing else works, which is very seldom.
I had stomach aches when I was young every evening. Since I gave up meats and sugars I never ever have them. Check your diet for sure. It’s been 50+ years.
I would highly recommend staying off meds, has taken me years to recover after stopping anti depressants. They really wanted customers for life. In my opinion and experience this stuff is poison. God bless 💞
Stomach pain can be related to H Pylori, which can be tested for, or acid reflux, which I have had great luck treating by drinking a bit of kombucha with meals. Going gluten-free is also helpful for some people. We kind of have to play around with the safe changes we can make to avoid more risky treatments, but it’s worth it!

When I was severly depresssed, PTSD is what I had. They tried to over medicate me. What I really needed and got, was a fantastic therapist that actually got me through my issues. It took about 3 years, but the drugs tried at first, were damaging. True therapy worked and got me to the bottom of what my issues were. The meds, did nothing but hurt me and never helped (often hurt) at all.
Same here. I was diagnosed with breast cancer May 2020. Going through chemo alone and being dropped off at the hospital doors for major surgery left me with PSTD. Talk therapy and feeling well enough to exercise really helped.
To me what helps me with depression is realizing I was depressing my feelings all together so I would go into a negative and numb state. I am learning to accept my feelings as mesengers that want to help me moving forward. Negative feelings are warning signs. Allowing those feelings and trying to understand the message helps me a lot and that gave room for more positive feelings again. Feelings come and go as we understand them. Though its not always as easy done as said.
I saw tons of psychiatrists when I went through a few years of depression. None of them ever did a blood test or any brain imaging to find out what the problem was. They just prescribe drugs immediately. And when one doesn't work they add another. Then another. Always looking for that elusive "right combo for you"... After years of their trial and error I never did find the right combo. The antidepressants messed up my endocrine system and gave me low testosterone. This caused numerous other health problems and worse depression. My lesson: Doctors don't know how to cure depression. They can certainly make it worse though.
Have you had any vitamin tests since then? I was exactly like you, but managed to fix my endocrine system through diet, lifestyle, and exercise. I've been "depressed" for 20 years. Turns out I was dealing with malnutrition/deficiencies. In the last year I've gone through a second puberty, as much as you can as an adult. Really, it's just my testosterone returning to a normal level after being suppressed since my teens. My voice is deeper, I gained tons of facial hair, I was horny every other day, and was gaining muscle so fast that guys at the gym think I'm on something. I did all of it by following a ketogenic diet, overloading with eggs, supplementing with zinc, magnesium, boron, vit d, vit c. Also I quit drinking, and all processed foods. Since xmas I fell off the bandwagon and have felt my test plummet again.
There are protocols for every situation in the Healthcare industry. No MD is an individual, who makes his own mind. We noticed that, about Covid !!!!!! It is indeed an industry ! Pharma is tightly connected to everything. Meds never heal or cure, but they perhaps, especially in psychiatry, lessen aggressive reactions. It is ironic to hear the informed consent about a med for depression ; there is always the possibility of death ! Well !!! Hello ! we are trying to avoid that ! not make it come faster..Pharma uses subliminal commercials to promote new drugs. They disclose everything while the camera focusses on attractive, happy people, having fun, saying, they are taking the stuff ! BINGO ! the masses will ask their MD"s for that prescription, who will be happy to write it, as he could be getting new office furniture for doing so.......Wink....wink........
The meds messed up my metabolism that my weight doubled! I gained 1.5 kg weight per month consistently while taking meds. When I stopped, I lost all the weight again. But the second time around I took it longer and my weight ballooned from 63 to 123 kg!!! When I git off meds again, I could never lose all the weight again inspite of exercising and other changes. The only thing that cured my "depression" was a 100% gluten-free diet (also no milk products). Turns out I have celiac disease.

As a national board certified psychotherapist with independent licensure I’m so thankful for this video! Too often I have people who believe they have a “chemical imbalance” which we know there is no scientific validity. A lot of people in my experience become victim to the drugs and lose faith in their ability to help themselves. I do believe in some circumstances medication is absolutely necessary to help them calm down enough to be able to learn and implement new skills. The misinformation about where serotonin is created is harmful and people often have no idea how these drugs work (if/when) they work. I think we should be promoting proper nutrition and exercise along with talk therapy. The narrative there is something wrong with us and we can’t help ourselves with or without support continues to have disheartening impacts on humanity. Again, there are times and situations that warrant treatment that includes medication but we are way over prescribing.
You give me hope that our medical system can change and the insanity we have now will end. It is my opinion that the only way for it to happen is for doctors and medical people to rise up as a whole and refuse to continue to participate in what's going on. Thank you.

It's lovely to hear Dr Cohen saying sometime people just need to talk but in the real world when and if you can get an appointment to see Doctor, you know you have an allotted time. At my Doctors you have 10mins. It very difficult to have a conversation of your problems in such a short time. Inevitably the Doctor just prescribes some drugs. No offer of blood tests or anything.

Dr. Cohen impressed me by his knowledge and his obvious compassion and concern. Thanks for this discussion
Please don't let this conversation give you more anxiety because you don't know what to do. Perhaps it is an idea to go back to medication if that's worked for you in the past, and simultaneously let them know you want to work on other things like those mentioned in the video. At the very least discuss with them what you're worrying about. Don't stress, it's gonna be better for you one day. Hang in there. All the best!

Re techonology, yesterday my cousin went to see the doctor for a check up - she has rheumatoid arthritis - these are her words: ' The doctor was working on her computer and she never once turned to face me during the consultation , she never once asked how I was doing or if there was anything she could do for me and after a few minutes of her facing the computer screen and not me, she said it all looks good, goodbye. ''
I once had a gp ask me my symptoms etc and as I was telling him, without even looking at me he put the palm of his hand right into my face and said "stop talking i'm still typing" an absolute prick of a man honestly. Never went near him again
For decades , my doctor had me on Depacote , for cycling emotions , when I weened myself off of it in early 2020 , my dreams came back ! I like to dream , drugs took my dreams away from me !

Dr. Cohen is always a welcome guest. I love how he shares his knowledge and life experiences of the topics covered. My mother suffered from polypharmacy. Too many prescribed drugs. She was so distressed because she itched all over her body for years. It was only when we managed to get her medications reviewed and about three unnecessary ones that were no longer required were removed did the itching finally go away
There are lots of people with depression for many different reasons. But for myself I have found doing something for other, helps take your mind of your own problems and issues. It also means your talking to other people. It can be hard but I also found changing your diet helps too. A little change can make a difference.

Paxil ruined my nervous system. I was prescribed it for Long Covid /CFS. When I got off, I had a cascade of new symptoms, physical, emotional and mental. SSRI definitely hit the ANS.
@@sammywhite9906 I agreed to take it, as I was desperate. I couldn't eat because of everyday nausea, and GI doctor prescribed Paxil. Because endoscopy and tests showed nothing, so it was decided that "it's just in my head". But I decided to take it, as I had no other treatments or choices. In the long run, it made me worse. @@sammywhite9906 I had an infection in July 2021. Covid test was negative. Then only 3 days after I recovered, I hurried to do a Pfizer vaccine. In my country it was becoming available only then. After the first dose I started to have constant low grade fever, that lasted for months, fatigue, complete loss of appetite with nausea, no concentration. I lost my ability to work and function. After six months of appointments, all serious and major diseases were ruled out. At that point I had health anxiety because of the illness. No depression. That's when a GI doctor prescribed Paxil, an SSRI. After 3 months I started to have some appetite and put on weight. No change in fatigue and fevers. It helped with the anxiety too, I was still very sick but didn't care as much. After going off (because of libido and weight problems), all of my symptoms came back and I had a myriad of new ones. Now I suffer from debilitating fatigue (hard to get up), unstable body temperature, nausea, memory loss, brain fog, constant tension and restlessness, no focus to read or watch movies more than 15 min, dizziness, bouts of derealization and feeling that I live in a constant drunk haze, etc.
What a great doctor. Thank you very much Dr. Cohen. Unfortunately due to high demands on doctor's time, I don't expect a full analysis of people's physical and mental health to be mainstream.
The most significant reason I am depressed is that I see criminals in positions of power go unpunished while I am spending more and more money to cover basic needs. Is it a sickness or a reasonable response to lawlessness and living a life surrounded by overwhelming network of lies?
Take solace knowing that the Bible teaches you that Satan is control of this world. You are not supposed to like this world.
Reasonable response
Yeah, I'm pretty depressed about just wanting to be left alone, but senile old men want another war and every day the government makes new laws to tighten the screws.
Its inescapable and depressing.
Don't let em win. Focus on the things you can control, and learn to let go of things you can't. The more you focus on the things that are out of your control, the worse it will get.
Worry about what we can change. I was like you, but have found stoicism to be a big help.

Do research on stoicism. That may fix your issues or can do, if you can apply it.
@@Thejokestir8 Oppressive (that is, abusive, by definition) behaviours can indeed cause depression. There's a complex chemical connection between our environments, relationships and interactions with others and our body chemistry. Rather, the better solution is to look at a person's environmental and relational triggers and deal with them.
Entirely agree. Being in the 'developed' world is not conducive to good mental health. As those in the 'developing' world are increasingly finding. Question: who is doing the developing to whom? Why? Cui bono?

Plant-free, meat based ketogenic diet is the best.

This doctor is smart. We have to stop running to medication as the fast action cure to everything.
@@linanicolia1363 Our sense-or-ious 0ver-l0rds have r3-mov3d your c0mm3nt. I only saw it in my notifications.
They do the same for BP meds. Keep changing them until the numbers look right. The health of the patient, irrelevant...
Once again, a civilised, sensible conversation between highly competent people. Thank you once again John.
Life is depressing and has been for the last three years! We should all be dancing around the room celebrating the fact that we are all still here xxxx
The WHO is planning their next plandemic. They even have the virus named and are working on the next vaccine
Great to see your still here and never took the clot shot well done fellow Pureblood😂😂😂
Do research on stoicism. That may fix your issues or can do, if you can apply it.
Being sad =/= depression
I have relatives who aren't still here though and friends with problems post vaccine so it's all very depressing.
Concussions should be investigated in relation to depression too. Leaves people feeling out of sorts and easily gets overlooked.

Dr Cohen is a lovely man. His patients are very lucky. And we are so lucky to have Doc Campbell to bring such interesting programmes to us.
Excellent! As Catholics in the season of Lent abstaining, becoming ever more mindful of what we put in our bodies and what we choose not to for spiritual purposes this discussion is helpful, encouraging. Plus taking action, reaching out to others, being part of a faith community, strengthening all our relationships, especially families, vital, always. All good 👍🏻

Going on The carnivore diet has help me a lot with depression . I’m off all my medications now 😊
Congrats.
I tried it myself but I find there's some risk in the diet as well
Eat plenty of egg yolks too. Good for whatever spikes you.

Me too!
I have been doing the carnivore diet 7 months but no results yet…how long did it take you to heal from depression?
Grateful for the suggestions in this post.
Dr. Campbell you really read our minds! This topic is so important. I honestly can't thank you enough. You are God sent. ❤💙🥰
Thank you both for this discussion. It was most definitely useful.
Spent the last 6 weeks weaning off sertraline. I’ve been on them 6 years. It’s not been the best time. You’re not alone if you’re struggling with it too! 💕
I've been on prozac for 15 years. I've asked to be weaned off them. Last time I stopped cold turkey, I was a mess. And I'm sorry you have to go through that
Doped-up zombies are easier to manage, and take a lot less work to control.
Jordan Peterson's case is a sobering illustration of the harm that anti-depressents cause.
Is that what turned him into such a freak ?
Benzodiazepines, not SSRI'S
I believe it was the benzodiazepines that caused JP's problems. He was coming off SSRI's and put on benzo's then developed akathesia. Your main point still stands as Mikhaila, his daughter, had a severe reaction when coming off SSRI's.

I had depression for many years, I was so desperate for help after losing everything through a car accident abroad on holiday. When I was flicking through RUclips i came across the miracle prayer & in the description it said if you mean every word with yr heart you will encounter Jesus in a very special way so I knelt down every morning & prayed after about 3 months I had a beautiful encounter with the Holy spirit...I have never felt so much love that day, he has changed my life, God's given me strength & forgiveness to all who have hurt me. Jesus loves us so much, he wants to help all of us if we ask him to. Wonderful and such an essential conversation with an excellent doctor who I wish were my doctor (or husband in fact😅) . I've been on sertraline for almost 8 years. None of the doctors I get to see at my practice (usually always a different one) ever asks to review my meds or suggests to come off them. I have been cutting down to half the dose over months and am hoping to be SSRI-free by the end of 2023.
Dr Campbell, you are suddenly becoming a hero of this time! Thank you for your mind being fluid and open minded, much love ❤️
Very interesting thankyou Dr. Campbell.
So perfectly timed. Thank you both for sharing your experiences and knowledge. Much much appreciation. ❤❤
Thank you for addressing thing. Both my grandmothers were victims, and one of them died from a stroke after being prescribed massive doses of blood thinners by two separate doctors. The other one was disabled with rapid diabetic neuropathy within weeks of starting Plavix, and died 3 months after receiving the J&J vxx.

Sorry for your loss!
An excellent conversation ! thank you for not "falling asleep at the wheel " !
In fact recreational drugs are considered as bad as alcohol when behind a wheel.
But these medically prescribed drugs may be a bigger problem.
One expert is quoting good health comes from good foods
And with bad foods even medication wont work.
I applaud you both.Thankyou.
I have been on many anti-depressants for 20 some odd years until I got serotonin syndrome. I have tried just about every anti-depressants and have run out of options. I had to go off of these meds and the withdrawal symptoms were HORRENDOUS! So I am now using vitamins and herbal remedies. I still cry way too much and am so emotional. Someone tried to put me on a med that can cause serotonin syndrome. I took 2 days of it and stopped immediately once I learned that. Other meds were tried but I did not tolerate them well. So I am listening hard to what is being said here. I do take vitamin d with vitamin k, vitamin b complex, omega 3's, magnesium, lion's mane, Rhodiola rosea, pro biotic and pre biotic and others I can't think of right now. Such an interesting chat.
I really believe we are what we eat.
We are what we do. We are what we think.
As an elderly man, I have suffered from PTSD and depression for sometime. I found this very informative and helpful. It is not an easy journey, we take. Through no fault of our own. I would like to say more, but I can’t 🤯
You aren’t alone Rob. It’s a tough road we have to travel .
Again, there are times and situations that warrant treatment that includes medication but we are way over prescribing.
cheryl, there are very specific gut biome things that must be done to heal.....shall we have that discussion here? Refreshing post, thank you.
You give me hope that our medical system can change and the insanity we have now will end. It is my opinion that the only way for it to happen is for doctors and medical people to rise up as a whole and refuse to continue to participate in what's going on. Thank you.

Many women who are given meds for depression are suffering with the menopause and HRT can be prescribed with great results! As said here : HOLISTIC medicine is needed, looking at the whole person.
Absolutely Hazel, this is exactly what happened to me. I’m finally getting the HRT I needed all along, plus tapering off the ADs (very slowly). The ADs didn’t help and actually made me ten times worse. I’ve lost several years over them but am finally coming back to life.
HRT in long term can cause breast cancer. Correct me if Im wrong...
@@SzazaM077 not true. Modern HRT is natural hormones and in cream or gel form is put in skin to be absorbed, no risks. The benefits are huge in short and long term: reduced risk of osteoporosis; reduced risk of dementia; cholesterol levels can be reduced; anxiety reduced (or in my case eliminated); it helps weight loss ; and stops depression that is brought on by menopause or peri menopause.
@@skippy7208 that's fantastic news. My life was going downhill since Menopause, but now on HRT it gets better and better every day, I'm feeling like I did at 40 and my weight is also back to when I was 40! Also anxiety is gone, oh and the tinnitus has gone too! Amazing HRT. Best of luck.
@@SzazaM077 modern HRT is bio- identical and perfectly safe as it’s absorbed through the skin (patches, gel). I think it used to be made from horse urine (Premarin) in tablet form which may have made breast cancer more of a risk.
How many people after a good outdoor walk, workout, or run, have ever said 'I feel worse after doing that..'? Eat carefully, keep moving take one day at a time.. and don't give up. If you do, then they win. 'A healthy patient is not a profitable patient'.

These drugs have devastating impacts on patients. Patients get addicted to these prescribed drugs and stay on them for life! I know a 56-year-old man who has been on these devastating drugs for the past 30+ years!
He has gained so much weight and has to take his car everywhere!!!!!
His brother is a retired NHS pediatrician!

Please don't let this conversation give you more anxiety because you don't know what to do. Perhaps it is an idea to go back to medication if that's worked for you in the past, and simultaneously let them know you want to work on other things like those mentioned in the video. Best medicine for depression is exercise. Even a walk a day will help.
The only medicines for depression are emotional validation and social support. Without both of those, depression is literally impossible to escape.
