      Yes, thanks to him. Please allow me to interrupt. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. In Pidhauli (Vaishali) the local deity is Bardiha Baba. Bardiha means the Baba who didn't allow us to stay where he was staying. Bardiha Baba is the Buddha no doubt because he didn't allow the crowd of Lichavies to stay with him in Bandagama. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to Buddhists. I have just videographed Maha Prajapati Gautamies Parinirvana temple. She is regarded the great grandmother of that are just as Buddha is regarded as grandfather (Baba).

      Just like figments of uncontrolled imagination , it seems. But more than that, letting go of them, results in them not feeding on a victim, and thereby, they cease to exist.
      But your wisdom seems greater than that of the Chinese emperor, and possibly that of the sage, (unless he tried to deceive the emperor into letting go of of the unrest he caused himself), as pretending that mind doesn't exist because the emperor wasn't clever enough to understand that consciousness can be impossible to locate, beyond knowing that it's everywhere within. That does not mean consciousness, or mind does not exist, which a sage worth his salt should have surely known.

Thanks.

    That explains my experience: when I have troubled feelings and thoughts and start to meditate and observe those inner disturbances, I used to feel silence, calm, and steadfastness. That is my true self... the empty, yet serene and steadfast essence. Not my thoughts, not my emotions, not my desires, not my aversions, etc.

      @Icewulf - The best way to understand it is via experience. I could give you a lot of words and theory but the best way is… look around your local area - I suggest starting with Yoga studios - find where KIRTAN is going on… GO to Kirtan - go to several bcoz they’re not all the same - the Kirtan Walla can make a big difference - sing with them - don’t worry about understanding all the words - just follow along and sing - Kirtan is call and response - those Sanskrit words are Mantras - if you give yourself over to it and participate fully, you will find yourself in The Present Moment and there you will find you Understand on a level that is beyond words. THATS what it’s about.

    ....The way of thoughts to accomplish our needs, is a branch of fun good thoughts to experience at times....If one is experiencing uncontrolled thoughts of dislike, one should not hate this to much or at all....You don't want to hate yourself....Yet one must not let these thoughts lead to destructive actions....If things start going in that direction, one must turn away from those thoughts.... See the fire lesson....Fire looks and feels special, but to close to fire will hurt...We learn fast this lesson, and know how to handle most fire constructively, though it is in the flame on the earth or in the sun of the sky or elsewhere.....Just know that thoughts are their and use them well.... Though they are abstract and invisible, they are like the fire on the ground or in the sky....They are the fire in you and out of you....We must Frigg them, fix, repair, improve, and grow good; so thoughts like the sun are a helpful experience, when we are handling them....

    The only problem is that it is easy said than done.
    You can be a witness to your toughts for a moment but your mind always gets attached to another thought that pops up.
    I have tried many techniques over the years but does not work.
    One day i will find the Truth how to be at peace with my thoughts and live in the present moment.
    Thank you

    • @k14michael
      @k14michael 2 года назад

      “One day I will find the Truth”. That’s just another obsessing thought. The awareness that witness this thought is the real peace. And that awareness is always Here and Now. Not in “some day” or “some yesterday”. Both past and future thoughts are all illusion. You cannot grab hold of illusion but you can realize that illusion as illusion and therefore be free from all illusion.

    These stories are always amazing to me. In a few simple words that are easy to remember, an idea has moved into my mind. I was aware of the chatter in my mind being an activity, but I never thought of seeking its origin. The simple act of focusing the activity of thought, to feeling the sensation of air flowing through my nose, is a simple way to stop the chatter in my mind albeit temporarily. Breath deep, then let it all go.
