I wish you guy used more Common Sense whilst testing cars on track! I've been to England, So I know, there are Plenty days where IT DOES NOT RAIN, TEST CARS ON NON Wet Track days! You've got enough pull/clout to borrow/rent cars on those days Only. This makes lap time comparison and review USELESS.
That was the original plan for the top gear test track. They had a water tender that would spray the track before the car went out. But it standard top gear fashion; it was ambitious, but rubbish.
Reality check: 518 hp is a sh*tload of power (the first and infamous Porsche Turbo had 260 hp!). What is actually ridiculous is the amount that some other cars have nowadays, especially given the fact that they are not any faster with it. Take for instance that Ford Mustang GTD that they made so much hollabaloo about and that basically lapped the Nurburgring in the same time as a GT3 RS can do, but that needed 800+ hp to to it...

It's coming. It was in the intro. I don't think it'll be much faster than this or the Koenigsegg Jesko. RWD ICE cars really struggle on this short/slow track. EVs and AWD cars definitely have an advantage. Especially since it's a start from stand still.
Just a reminder that the Ultima GTR 720 is still a full second ahead of the jesko on the top gear track (1:09.9). But the RS has much more power (depending on configuration of course), is 50kgm lighter, and has a lot more downforce. The time for it should be nuts.

@@storck08 most circuits either favor high downforce high drag cars(gt3-d) or low downforce low drag cars (gt1-2) depending on the ratio between turns and straights in the circuit. But this track is pretty small so speeds where downforce is significant enough to be helpful aren't even reached, so there isn't much difference in turning ability, so the low drag cars have the acceleration advantage over the course. At least that's what I'm guessing(I have never driven a car)
The GT is my greatest failure as an engineer/strapless dyno tester of Carrara Cup Cars. 😮💨 They blocked the US spec two passenger monocoque to keep the 1960's lomant single seater monocoque.

A lot of the cars have been tested in not so ideal conditions. It’s time seems about right as the Aero is not so efficient on this runway circuit and it hasn’t got the power of the McLaren 675 or GT2RS
Porsche should actually run it around the ring with factory set up, not adjusting it for that track, time is so far out from a real time, to even compare ring times, ALL manufacturers should be set up the same
