    Hey great tutorial! Really appreciate you guys taking the time to film and post your experience. (am more of an interior mods guy) A tip to remove the e-brake for center console removal. The e-brake boot can be lifted at the base and separated from the console. Pull straight up. It's easier than forcing the handle out. Keep up the good work!

    Pro tip, you can access the shifter linkage from under the car then you just unbolt the shifter bracket from the transmission and you are good to go. No need to remove interior parts. Great vid though! Edit: Here is a video showing what I am talking about: ruclips.net/video/ipQOjL4Z-Mw/видео.html

      I mean I think you can disconnect it from underneath but you will still have the shifter knob hanging around which will be a pain to maneuver. So it will be more work keeping it in the long run 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @eolson675
      @eolson675 3 года назад +7

      @@middlekidown14 It's not a pain at all. Remove a retaining clip and 2 pins, then the transmission disconnects from the whole shifter assembly. It just stays attached to the car and isn't in the way at all. Here is a video showing how to disconnect it from underneath the car: ruclips.net/video/ipQOjL4Z-Mw/видео.html

      Did not work....the two side pins came out fine, but after an hour of prying, pushing, taping, etc, the shift rod ball pin would not budge out of the boss it's located in. Had to remove the interior after all. So the "Pro tip" was a time waster.

At 65k miles my TOB went out at that exact area (live oak) and was looking how hard it would be to drop the trans using jack stands. I think I'll be able to do it. awesome video! nice to see how its done with just floor jacks.
    Just pulled my own transmission out. I live in Canada, winter driven since year 1 and never has the transmission assembly been removed for 8 years. The amount of stuck the transmission assembly was in was insane. Aside from using wood and a hammer (to hammer to wood to start to shake the assembly loose), I used penetrant spray on two metal pins located at the 3 and 9 o'clock position of the bell housing. After I sprayed those pins and gently pried from the sides of the housing (3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions) was it then only able to separate.
