will the steps be about the same for the 2015-2017 models?
What are those jack stands called, do you have a link to buy them.
top speed run?
What do you use ATF for a manual box?
@@jevaissterling5749 the sticker on the gearbox says use ATF fluid at 16:08
this dude literally got video footage of every single step, mad respect, thats a lot of work. i just love a good instructional video
it really is - don't recommend it. and thank you 🙏
@@Four_Eyes probably why so many "how-to's" skip so much of the actual "how-to". Quality work
@@Four_Eyes worth the effort mate, banging job
Suggestion for next video: How to have a spotless garage, spotless engine bay, and spotless parts.👍
The lighting during the under car steps shows that he cares
Literally the best, most informative build series I've been able to find yet, that's still easy understand! Keep up the good work!
much appreciated justin 🙏
Hogwash. The best, strongest and toughest manual transmissions are, in no particular order
Ford Top Loader
Chrysler A-833
GM Muncie rock crusher.
PERIOD
This is my 50th year in automotive repair including transmissions....I know what Im talking about.
@@donreinke5863 huh?
@@MrM3dic Duh?
@@donreinke5863 4 gears is too little IMO. I would need minimum 5, but 6 is way better because the gear rations are very close and you get very consistent nearly identical RPM drops in every gear change.
4 eyes literally never disappoints. This will go down as one of the most impressive true 3v builds
I don't even have a Mustang and I still watched the entire video because of how well done the filming and editing is. This is the gold standard for how-to videos!
I felt the same way!!! Haha awsome!
yep same here
Same
This is the perfect install video. I don't have a Mustang and I enjoyed every second of it
Thanks man. Always appreciate you taking time to watch.
Hey greg, i bought an nb yesterday!
@@noncog1 🎉 heck yeah!!
@@Four_Eyes назови пожалуйста модель и марку этой коробки. Спасибо
No intro, no claim, no sponsor, no recap, no intermission, NO FLUFF. Love it, keep it up.
All the work that requires he should get money so he needs a sponsor
These videos are insane, the amount of work that you must put into filming is incredible. I would be pumped to just successfully swap a transmission at all. Let alone film it, edit it, and MAKE IT LOOK EASY! Absolute legend
yeah ngl, it sucked. but thank you 🙏
@@Four_Eyes it will be well worth it in the long run.
@@Four_Eyes ive tried filming my work. dude, fuck that. i hope you make bank off these videos the effor you put in is unreal.
Absolutely fantastic video... the tons of work you must have done planning, capturing, and editing are all evident here. I also really appreciate how you do this with handtools and a QJ. As a fellow "driveways and jackstands" guy, this is underrepresented in today's youtuber's who all have shops and lifts and sponsors. Finally, as an S550 guy, this is an awesome blueprint should I ever need it to swap out my MT82.
Bravo!
thank you v much johnny 🙏
Bro you did this on the floor with a cheap trans jack! That a boy!
I'm going to do this on my 2008 GT500 the TR6060 in them isn't nearly as good as the T56 magnum so hopefully I can do something like this.
This was the most amazingly narrated, comprehensive, and well-shot how-to video I have ever seen. No music, no BS. Just a dude, some tools and his car. I don’t even own a Mustang nor do I ever search changing out a transmission. Thank for this, RUclips algorithm.
Great meeting you! You gotta post more!
literally did a double take when i saw this comment
coming to make bad financial decisions i see
Is this finally a mustang video I miss these 👏🏽👏🏽
This channel is freaking incredible, I can’t get enough. The attention to detail is unmatched
Finally more videos of the mustang 3V!!!
Good choice going with the 2.66 first gear option, a lot of people get stuck on the numerically higher gears and wind up putting down too much power with too high first and differential gear, basically makes first gear totally worthless.
Doesn't help that OEMs have done the opposite, they have a high final drive and first gear is low as hell, 4x or better.
Looking forward to your projects.
I like my 5.61 🤷♂️
But then I've got 3.07 axles (which will change soon
Saw your video of you giving a 2019 Bulllit the gapple bees menu. After my 2010 v6 3v swap is done, Im slapping a T56 in it. Your videos are so damn detailed and awesome.
I bet it makes it feel like a whole new car! I definitely feel like the tr3650 is one of the biggest downfalls of the 3v’s
How so? It’s a great shiftings trans. Holds decent power. No small inexpensive trans will last with sticky tires and a heavy clutch.
@@TanCalHan The gear ratios suck lol
I’ve been hoping we’d see a new video from you soon!
I was thining the same. It takes some time, but every video he does is awesome!
I've never even seen a Mustang up close so I have no idea why I'm watching this, but damn they look pretty easy to work on compared to other modern cars. Seems as simple as my Miata, kudos to the engineers. Edit: except the tuning the torque management part, that pretty alien to me.
You are the man. Watching one of your videos I was able to swap the alternator for a high output. SR from American muscle, by the way also upgraded the power wire. The car is still running, so I know I did not messed up. Question swapping an automatic trans to a manual, is that possible, have you heard about it?
it definitely is possible, unsure exactly what's required but it can be done!
You’ve done it again four eyes😎 I don’t even own a 3V and I’m addicted to this quality content👍 Keep doin your thing!
Finally!!
Hey it's Dugger, this was an amazing step by step installation. I get impressed more and more with every video on the Mustang. Every single video you upload is spot-the-fuck-on! I just recently sold my red 06 GT and bought a sterling gray 13 GT, but I still am just as, and now even more excited to see the turbo kit installation and test drive. I absolutely dig everything about your Mustang build and progress. And I will be here til the end. You are the absolute best at doing these vids on the S197 '05-'09 Mustang platform, hands down. Now to my question that's been making me nuts for a CPL years now eheheheheh, will you be putting the car up for sale for more funding for your other projects? Don't yell at me lol, because I know you will have completed the ultimate mustang gt and will probably be keeping this amazing trophy car. But I just had to ask ok? And if so I'm first at the car!!!! Anyway lol, KUDOS brother mustang lover, you are doing great things. Keep the vids coming!!!!
Now I know how to swapa t56 into a mustang.
That 3 valve shifting at 7k is just incredible to hear.
As always, some of the BEST automotive content on RUclips. The production quality is insanity. What camera do you use? This inspires me to kick my butt into gear and upgrade my content - big time.
Very thorough and no bullshit just facts and to the point. Thank you.
I don't have a car with a manual transmission (yet), but here I am, watching another car video at 8 in the morning. This is one of the best instructional videos that I have ever seen. Big ups.
Word of advice from a mechanic, ALWAYS replace the rear main seal, regardless of kms on it, and where possible, with an OEM one, and lube it with engine oil.
Very good video, welldone.
This is by far the best instructional video out there. Socket sizes, torque spec, step by step in a logical way with great lighting. Keep it up dude!
👇 I bought the full Magnum XL kit for my 2011 Mustang GT twin turbo, everything I needed, $4500 ... This is a great video but $6,500 is too much= people if you shop around, especially at certain times of the year, you can find these kits with all the accoutrements for $1500+ LESS
You deserve more credit for this video. Haven’t really decided what I want to do yet. I have a 06 gt with a procharger so I was thinking of just doing the engine and trans together so getting an 8 bolt crank and then doing a 6060 but if I do it separately and do the engine first but still want to use the stock trans for a bit then I can just do a t56 swap when needed. Thanks for the info!!
This guy is so good at explaining stuff, I was halfway through the video untill I realised I don’t even own a Mustang.
Babe wake up, Four eyes just posted
Your videos are made with so much care and quality. Thank you for sharing!
thanks for watching josh!
The legend returns with another update in the best s197 build series on RUclips!
I have to say, this is the greatest video ever. I watched every second. I've done tranny swaps before on my driveway but this is perfect for new people. Looking forward to what you do with the Viper
I wish that'd upload more often, but on the other hand I'm glad that you always deliver awesome content and your videos are very well edited
Your videos are so helpful your so detailed about everything
Even though I have no plans in the immediate future of doing a T56 swap or use it in anything, but it's nice to see a step by step in how to do this! Not many people would actually document let alone film it and do it with the torque specs and procedures.
It gets worse man..
I have so bad vibrations under the car above 110mph and beyond
I installed the FDSH9-A-MAG2 driveshaft as you did
Do you have the same issues?
The vibration gets worse above 110 ... its undriveble at this "speeds"
The stick is rattleing like hell there
Everything under 110 is fine with no vibration at any rpm or gear
Man it would break my heart if its the tranny
I sticked with rp synchromax to reduce the trannynoises.
13k for everything....
And it does this :(
I work the sh out of me to do this...
I just wanna enjoy
..aaaargh
Hell yeah man! Ive always wanted to do this with my 05. Looks like it was well worth it! Great tutorial on the install too, you deserve way more credit for the quality of your videos .
much appreciated brother
lmfao your youtube short 🤣
Honey, where's my favorite bath towel ?
These videos are awesome. I've been building my s197 for about 6 years now. It's come a long ways. These videos have helped me out alot! Keep up the good work. Always look forward to you posting about your mustang.
glad to be helpful and thank you for watching
Production quality on these videos are insane
Wow! Thanks for making such a clear and precise how-to!
thanks for watching!
Great video man keep up the build im loving it every step of the way
I've watched hundreds of hours of vehicle and racing content. And I've even installed one of those in a Supra. This is HANDS DOWN the best step by step, with nothing left out, installation video I've ever seen. New sub!
Insanely underrated
The best informative build video I ever watched, I didn't even notice that it was 20mins long, loved every part of it.
Good stuff. I like the informative style.
Great tutorial man. A lot of tutorials touch on the important information but would leave out a lot of the little things a beginner would question. You touched on everything...some might suggest using medium locktite on a lot of the hardware to be sure it doesn't vibrate loose. This is a tutorial done the right way.
"Getting crashed by your own car is both embarrassing and agonizing way to leave this world" - a nice one.
i don't want any of my viewers getting nominated for a darwin award!
This is the most straight forward, well shot, no bullshit transmission swap video. Great job!
thanks man 🙏
Thank you for this video, now I know how to install a transmission in a s197 Mustang. I have to start from the very beginning, Step one: buy a s197 mustang
I did this swap on my Supra and have to say, MAD respect for being able to film the entire process. Holy crap that must have been a ton of work. Great Video! Also, I was able to stack my Quickjack rubber blocks to get enough clearance to slide the T-56 with a transmission jack under the car easily. It was initially too low to put both blocks at the same time, so I lifted the car up, put rhino ramps under all 4 wheels, lowered it added the extra blocks. It's really stable and saves you tons more clearance.
can't wait to throw one of these in my 68.. about a $7000 upgrade i believe though..
You make a daunting task seem doable. Glad to see you're still working on your s197!
Thanks Mike 🙏
Aw man one of the best videos I’ve seen
Great video. Cinematography and commentary were on point. Can’t wait to see what it’s like with a turbo!
thank you and me too!
“Oh! It’s in reverse” 😹😹😹
How is your undercarriage that clean with 70k miles, how?
Absolutely Excellent video instruction! Thank you
Can explain the gear ratios a bit more, please?? And how do you know that you've torqued every bolt to the right amount of torque they need?? Is there a sensor or something?
This is so inspiring bro you dont even understand. The S197s are thanking your for this content❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I got the T-56 Magnum built by G-Force...able to handle 1200h.p and 1000 foot pounds of torque...Best on the market
This is my kind of build.
I'm not going to be installing a Tremec T56 Magnum XL on my Mustang, but I'll gladly watch this video anyway! (I also own an 07 but I have v6 lol)
This is literally what my plan is your helping me so much
happy to be helpful
Ummmm. Why did you use brake fluid for your clutch hydraulic? They sell clutch fluid just for that and if I'm not mistaken clutch fluid isn't corrosive like brake fluid is. great video all the same though. 🙂
The aluminum flywheel does what it is intended to do, but it really sucks for street use. Been there done that. Granted, clutch type helps, and the McLeod is a good choice. I have the RXT 1200 with lightened steel flywheel, and love it.
True it will be embarressing to be crushed by your car ❤️🤣🤣👏
I built my 34 Ford Hot Rod around a Tremec TKO 600 five speed and I totally love it.
I don't know jack shit about cars, but the way you filmed and explained each step made it very easy to digest. Great video.
This video was so informative and good! 😃
Bois it’ll be a while before the next vid but at least we know we’ll see 700+ next vid😤
insane quality videos man, really hoping you blow within a few months. you deserve it.
Wow, having watched so many car videos. The lighting and camera angles of this video are a herculean effort. Wonderfully done sir!
Wow man, you must release a book on how to modify a car.. ⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘
Let’s go !!!
I have the confidence to do this job and I don't even own a mustang lol. Extremely entertaining and well put together informative video. Well done.
I don’t understand how you only have 60k subs you need more. Very informative and well put video. Absolutely love you’re channel !!!
2:19 Sorry, I shouldn't have laughed at that... but I did.
Great vid by the way.
i bring no hate or anything but instead of buildng the 3v and all the labor and money why didnt you just coyote swap and build it ?
This dude is awesome... every single step matters. Thanks!!!!!
Okay, this has no right being this informative, I don't think I've seen car videos this far in depth on just a transmission before
Been waiting on this since i seen it on Instagram!! Great information as usual man!
thank you Francisco
Great to see the 3v again 👏
Awesome job and presentation, I dont need t for anything, but it was so nice to watch, to the point and clear.
Glad to know the mustang still going strong 👍🏻👍🏻
WOW ... !!!! AWESOME VIDEO ... !!!!!!! GREAT REVIEW ....!!!!!!!!!!!! DOUBLE G. HERE ....!!!!!!!!!
Man this is going to help a lot in the future. I wish we had video's like this at school. Great quality man! You never disappoint!
I have one of these in my JZA80 Supra. Such a Awesome gearbox. This video is awesome and I can't fault it! Nice work
that's awesome and thank you
How does one make 1000hp and have only 700ft pounds of torque? Destroke the engine? My 347 made 650hp and a smidge over 700 ft pounds of torque. Just wondering, I'm generally curious.
It depends on the build and how you got that power but I can tell you one way would be a centri gt350 they can make big power and 200-300 less torque than hp because the engine is known for making big power up high and not as much torque and centris are also known for this so combine them and it isn't that uncommon to see them 200+ hp higher than torque or even more so I wouldn't be that surprised. Also if you have a very efficient engine and you're running a big whipple at low boost it isn't gonna hit that hard down low and having cams and other things that helps shift power curve up can make them lazier down low too its a combination of things. Depends on the engine and what is done overall to get the power. I've never heard anyone say these are 1000 hp capable but him it's usually advertised as 700 torque rated but they're pretty conservative with their ratings it can take a decent bit more.
Great job!
Fantastic video as always. Makes me feel confident even though I'd be terrified to ever do anything like this.
Finallyyyyy
finally!!!
Wow, wow, wow! Like everyone says, this is one of the best informative build series, period. Your work to make these videos put together must be phenominal! Keep going, you're the best, really appreciated. THANK YOU!!!
thank you very much 🙏
