  • I HAVE MAGNUM-F's IN STOCK. READY TO SHIP ==== www.grannasracing.com
    In this video I am comparing the new Tremec Magnum-F (F for Fbody) 6-speed transmission. This transmission is a direct replacement for the LS T56 guys without the cost of machining and modifying an existing magnum. Now you can order one direct from Tremec setup as a direct swap.
    In the video I compare the transmission to the regular T56 Magnum, along with the Magnum XL, the LS T56 also known as the Borg Warner T56 (F-body Camaro), the Tremec TR6060 (Camaro), and I threw in a T5 and TKO for fun as well.
    If you are looking for anything Tremec related or looking to purchase a new transmission please visit my site www.grannasracing.com - I have Magnum-F's IN STOCK! Along with everything else Tremec, as well as McLeod clutches, the full line of Driveshaft Shop products, as well as the complete line of Holley products.

    this video has sold me on the Magnums. I read numbers and I worry about really pushing beyond advertised numbers. you running 2,000HP through one at well over 7,800 (advertised rpm) has sold me. I will never hurt one at 600hp. I also can turn up and drag race when the boiz get together. Thank you for the time it took to record this and upload. Absolutely solid video. selling my T56 and going Magnum. Ordering from Grannas asap.

Doing some research, and seeing that places like Tick want 4200 bucks for a bolt in magnum with a modified Fbody/GTO tailhousing. Then i find your blog on your website and realized Tremec is cutting out the middle man for us guys with OEM applications and selling it direct for essentially the same price as a box stock magnum. I have a stroker 383 with an LT1 based T56 in my 89 formula firebird. My car was a factory 305tpi / 700r4 car but I didnt have to cut my tunnel farther back. I attempted a lt1 center console and it all fit perfectly fine. The console was junked and I made a custom metal one to hold my switches in something stronger than plastic. This was back in 2001 or so when I built that car. I still have it. The biggest problem back then was getting a clutch to hold and actually last because the engine was a bit over built for driving on the street but I did it anyway. You dont need to cut up your tunnel to run a T56 unless you moved the engine back, as far as I know. I think I remember something about t5 cars that went to a T56 would have to cut about an inch off the back of their tunnel's shifter hole. I don't know your build though. The T56 conversion was rather easy with a car that started off as an auto

Which one do you pick for/how do you set up a Corvette-style transaxle in a custom application? I'm trying to decide between a 6-speed manual vs a ZF8-speed auto for my "dream" project car. Goal is to not have a ridiculous cruise RPM, still have a good holeshot, and no "the split between these gears is too long" like with my current trans (though that can also be attributed to not enough power and RPM since I'm stock RN, lol), and be enjoyable and daily-able.

      The 6060 uses a shift rod that comes out of the tailcase. If you mean “LS t56” when you say “regular t56” then the magnum-F is exactly the same dimensionally. Not sure on the ctsv… but I think it’s the same as the camaro 6060 just with different shifter

    ...and I can't even get my Dodge TR6060 out of 1st to N during start up. 🙄 Factory shifter Sucks and the shifts are notchy. Nothing like the T5's I rowed years ago.
    *WHAT FLUID DO YOU RECOMMEND?
    *The only Aftmkt. shifters I've found are Hurst or Barton remotes ('19 Challenger)

    Do you prefer the wide or close ratio?

    • @GrannasRacing
      @GrannasRacing  2 года назад

      I sell 99 close ratios to only 1 wide. The wide has bigger gaps between 1-4 gears which causes a bigger drop in rpm on shifts, which causes a turbo application to fall out of power more on shifts.

    I bought my tr6060 off a challenger for 500(steal) i bought an aluminium plate to make an adapter for about 180. Im going to use stock bellhousing off my rx7 and just swap out the center on the clutch plate itself maybe 50-100 bucks. So round it up to 800 max for a tr6060 swap into a rx7 not bad at all. Thats 2 turbo 2 fc transmissions 😬

    • @GrannasRacing

      The GTO T56 is the same as the Fbody/LS/Camaro/Firebird T56, the only difference is the shifter is slightly different, and the "lever cup" for the shift rail is a bit different. You would need a Magnum-F
